Lord of Avalon : Lost in Another World

Chapter 38: Reshaping Minori Village

After a quiet and fulfilling lunch, Ardi, Yui, and Megumi parted ways to handle their duties. Ardi returned to his study in the newly expanded Daimyo Castle, deciding it was finally time to upgrade his system.

Opening his inventory, he selected three upgrade modules along with the System Broken Core.

A system notification appeared before him:

[System Notification]

Upgrade Initiation:

Most system functions will be unavailable for one week.

[Inventory] and [Live Map] will remain accessible.

Proceed?

[YES] / [NO]

Ardi hesitated for a brief moment—knowing the risk—but then smiled determinedly and pressed YES.

Terraforming Minori Village

Right after that, he accessed the Live Map and began transferring the Natural Wonders from his inventory into Minori Village. He placed two Natural Wonders and one Dungeon Core into the village's landscape. Another notification appeared:

––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––

[Resonance Activation]

3 Natural Wonders and a Dungeon Core are resonating with your unique Lord trait: Domain Resonance.

Effect: This will trigger terraforming, elevating Minori Village onto a large hill.

Warning: The terrain will change drastically.

Proceed?

[YES] / [NO]

Knowing he needed to inform his people first, Ardi called Ren and the Shinobi to spread the news. While waiting, he relaxed by playing Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag using the Quantum Connection on his Nexus Garb.

Two hours later, Ren returned.

Ren: "My Lord, everyone has been informed."

Ardi closed the game and nodded in satisfaction. Without further delay, he pressed YES on the panel.

A deep rumbling shook the air. The ground beneath him trembled, and an invisible force lifted him ever so slightly. The entire process lasted several tense minutes before everything finally settled.

Opening the Live Map, Ardi took in the new landscape: Minori Village now stood atop a massive hill.

Ardi stared at the Live Map in detail. The new hill was clearly shown with natural contours—a 1 km radius hill 150 meters above sea level. To the north was a promising mining spot; to the east, a dense forest with timber and herbs; and a small river flowed from the east to the south, merging into the village dock area.

Ardi: "Okay, we must make the most of this."

He started dragging buildings around on the map:

Moved Rice Fields, Farms, and Fish Hatcheries along the river for better irrigation.

Shifted the Lumber Camp closer to the forest.

Placed Water Wheels on the riverbank to power the Lumber Camp and irrigation system.

Positioned Windmills near the farm and forge.

Added building plans for 30 Farmhouses in the east and north sector for new residents.

Added building plans 2 Ranches in the east for livestock, plus a Horse Ranch beside the first ranch for transport and military support.

Added building plans a Cheese House near the ranch to start cheese production.

Ardi adjusted his buildings, satisfied with his work.

Ardi: "We have a solid layout now."

Unexpected Panic

As Ardi adjusted the village layout through Live Map, a knock came at his office door.

Megumi: "Ardi-sama… did you move the village layout just now?"

Ardi turned around to see Megumi standing at the doorway, looking slightly troubled. She glanced at his Live Map, then back at him.

Ardi: "Aha… you noticed?"

Megumi: "Of course! Some of the new residents panicked when some buildings suddenly moved! Some even thought it was High Elf magic or a demon's trick…"

Ardi scratched the back of his head awkwardly.

Ardi: "Uhh… I forgot they weren't used to this yet…"

Megumi sighed but gave him a gentle smile.

Megumi: "Ardi-sama… you know they rely on you, right? It would be better if you told them before making big changes like this."

Looking into her eyes, which were filled with genuine concern, Ardi exhaled.

Ardi: "You're right. I've gotten too used to handling everything on my own. I'll explain it to them now."

Stepping out of his office, Ardi met with the new racial leaders gathered in the castle courtyard—Reinhardt, Sylthara, Varkas, and others. Yui stood beside them in her human form.

Reinhardt: "So… this was your doing, My Lord?"

Ardi: "Yes. I have something called a System, a gift from the Dimensional Goddess. It helps me manage the village."

Sylthara: "System…? Is it some kind of ancient artifact or high-level magic?"

Yui: "No, it's more like a mechanism that only Ardi can access. It's part of his fate as Lord Avalon."

(The gathered villagers murmured, some still doubtful.)

Ardi: "It's easier if I show you."

He opened the Construct Menu and added an Arcane Tech Workshop to the western sector. A blue light materialized in the air, and within seconds, a fully built structure appeared before their eyes.

Zrud: "WHAT?! IT JUST… APPEARED?!"

Thrain: "By the forge…"

Felina: "I've never seen anything like this nya…"

Sylthara: "Hmph… So you can build and reshape settlements instantly, Lord Ardi?"

Ardi: "More or less."

Suddenly, Zrud bolted toward the newly built workshop, eyes gleaming with excitement.

Zrud: "THIS IS AMAZING!!"

Rila : "Zrud! Get back here!" (Facepalming in frustration.)

Thrain: "Sigh… Apologies, My Lord. He gets overly excited about technology."

Ardi chuckled.

Ardi: "No problem. I actually like seeing people passionate about their craft."

Sylthara, still skeptical, folded her arms.

Sylthara: "No discipline… despite boasting about their technical skills."

Ardi turned to her with a calm gaze.

Ardi: "Sylthara, if you want someone to change, speak to them directly, not behind their back."

Sylthara flinched slightly before nodding.

Sylthara: "…You're right, Lord Ardi."

As the racial leaders dispersed, Yui playfully nudged Ardi.

Yui: "You're starting to sound like a real leader, Anata~"

Ardi: "Don't joke around. I'm just doing what needs to be done."

Megumi, standing beside him, smiled warmly.

Megumi: "Even so… I'm happy to see you more confident, Ardi-sama."

Feeling her sincerity, Ardi gently patted Megumi's head, making her blush.

With that, he continued his work— to add another buildng plan for an Alchemist Lab and upgrading wooden palisade to stone wall, ensuring Minori Village was well-prepared for the future.
