Chapter 19: Chapter 19: Sparring Match
(POV Narrator)
"Big Bro says dada is comin Luc Luc. How many days till next week?" Sam asked while eating some of the mashed potatoes Lucas had made only a few hours ago after his mother's familiar came home with the news.
'The kids are only six Lucas... While this may seem like basic knowledge to you. They wouldn't know any better just yet.' Lucas thought while internally groaning at the kid's question.
"Sam, today's Thursday, and I only train you on Mondays and Thursdays. How many days are there in a week?" Lucas asked while trying to nudge the kid into getting the answer himself with his hints.
Lucas saw the kid pause for a bit before he put his food back on the table as they freed both of their hands. They tried mumbling something for a bit before they attempted to count on their fingers.
It seemed they had failed their attempt before they looked around to see if they could do this another way. They tried to look toward their brother, but their older brother looked toward their teacher, who gave them a knowing look.
They tried one more time, but they started to say it out loud as they counted with their fingers.
"Monday, Tueday, Wenday, Thursday and Firday. Luc Luc, theirs five days in a week. So Dada is coming home in five days." Sam said with an unbelieve amount of confidence in his answer.
Lucas looked towards his first student as he started shacking his head in shame towards his student's little brother.
"Sammy, what about weekends?" Dean asked in an attempt to hopefully fix this, but Sam's ignorance at this point was legendary.
"Don't be the stupod Big Bro. The school only has its classes during the week and weekends are our free days. So weekends and weeks are two different things!" Sam replied in a nonchalant tone acting as if this was basic knowledge to anyone with a brain...
Lucas's hand started to massage his forehand with his left hand as he tried to comprehend this nonsense he was hearing.
Dean on the other hand tried to correct this mistake by correcting his younger brother on where he went wrong.
"Sammy, weekends are still a part of the week. Don't worry Dad will be home by next Thursday or in seven days if the letter is right." Dean looked towards his teacher he only gave them a weak thumbs up as they had a blank expression on their face as they tried to refocus on enjoying their meal together with everyone.
. . .
A few days later...
(POV MC)
"Is this really the best you two can do?" I asked while slightly mocking my student who had to hold himself back to his little brother's level so they could train together as they both started to sloppily move in tandem trying to catch me off guard.
'Sam's attack was sloppy as expected. Dean on the other hand seems to be trying his best to match his little brother's level so they both can learn that tandem fighting style that requires two people to work.' I thought as I kept dodging their attacks easily with my awakened spell currently affecting my senses.
Dean tried to attack my left side which I left unguarded in a fake-out to lure his little brother to come in close and attack my back. While their teamwork was sloppy it was still rather impressive they had learned so much in so little time.
Dean's wrist was instantly caught with my left hand as I applied a weakness spell to his body to make him weak enough for me to instantly throw him around.
'How the hell did a kid grow from barely being able to shatter a glass window with a rock to being able to bust down concrete walls effortlessly after only a few weeks of training...' I thought while pinning my student to the floor as he fell to his knees in pain.
With my other hand, I held the wooden blade of his little brother in my hand as he had always been an easy target in my eyes while training them both in a live-sparing match.
'All of their moves looked to be 2 to 3 times slower than usual while my spell was active. I guess Dean won't be able to act his part as the cooler older brother while I'm still here.' I started to grin as my attack left my student black and blue with all the brushes I left on his body with my attacks.
His brother on the other hand was instantly neutralized after I hit the pressure point on the back of his neck.
"Do you have anything to say your master? I thank you would be appreciated, don't forget to say you are the best master in the world too while you're at it!" I had a shit-eating grin on my face as I had both of my hands on my hips as I looked down at my barely conscious student.
"Eat shit, you asshole!" Dean said in a low whisper. Before he suddenly heard the roaring yell of his master.
"WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO YOUR MASTER? ARE YOU REBELING AGAINST YOUR MASTER!" I expressed while my anger started to overflow from my very soul.
"MASTER, I SAID YOU WERE THE BEST TEACHER IN THE WORLD! YOU'RE THE GREATEST MASTER I COULD HAVE EVER ASKED FOR!" My student said as he started to yell.
"ARE YOU TALKING BACK TO ME NOW DEAR DISCIPLE! WHEN DID I SAY YOU COULD EVEN YELL AT ME WHILE WE WERE TALKING!" I asked while pretending I had forgotten about his sly comment, but his training was tomorrow was only going to be that much harder this week.
'I don't care that our parents are coming home in only three days. Dean, your butt is going to be so god damn tired, that your father will need to carry you home.' I thought while having a sly expression on my face thinking of all the ways I'll punish my student during the next few days.
"Dean, I'll forgive you just this once, but be ready for tomorrow! Oh ya, make sure you put on enough shaman mud to heal those bruises of yours when you get to your room." I said while I looked to the sky in glee as I admired another victory over this monstrous student of mine while I had the chance.
'If Dean had a better teacher than me, he would've probably become the next Hercules or something of the modern era.' I thought while sulking at my inability to fully bring out my student's potential.
"I wonder if Echidna knew anyone who could help him out..." I whispered absentmindedly as I waited for Dean to recover before he started again.
