Lost in the labyrinth of love

Chapter 4: Chapter 3: In the Twilight Glow

In the warm embrace of twilight, as the soft glow of streetlights cast an enchanting spell upon the city, Minh Hoang and Ngoc Han strolled along a deserted street, their footsteps echoing in the tranquil air. An unspoken narrative seemed to linger in the stillness, waiting to unfold.

Minh Hoang sighed, his gaze drifting into the distance, his thoughts still consumed by his morning conversation with Thanh Khai. The memory of his heart pounding in his chest lingered, yet he knew the chasm between them remained vast.

Ngoc Han, sensing Minh Hoang's pensive mood, turned to him with a playful smile. "What's on your mind? You look like you've lost your soul!"

Minh Hoang chuckled softly. "It's nothing, just… thinking about Thanh Khai."

Ngoc Han's eyes gleamed with understanding. "You haven't given up, have you? Don't worry too much; I'm sure things will work out."

Minh Hoang simply nodded in silence, feeling like a leaf adrift in the wind, unsure of where he would land.

A sudden honking broke through his reverie, as a luxury car pulled up before them. The door swung open, revealing a young man with an air of authority and irresistible charm – Duat Van, Minh Hoang's close friend.

"Greetings, beautiful ladies," Duat Van greeted with a smile, his eyes holding a hint of mischief. His flawless features seemed to dim the surroundings, making him the center of attention.

Ngoc Han eagerly rushed over to embrace Duat Van. "Van, are you taking us out today?"

Duat Van raised an eyebrow, a playful glint in his eyes. "It's not exactly an invitation; I just happened to be passing by and thought I'd treat you two."

Minh Hoang gazed at Duat Van with a mix of respect and admiration. Duat Van was not only handsome but also incredibly intelligent and accomplished, an ideal figure in Minh Hoang's eyes, even though he knew he could never reach such heights.

"Where are we going?" Minh Hoang asked, unable to resist the invitation from his dear friend.

"Dinner," Duat Van replied, his eyes briefly meeting Ngoc Han's. "I just discovered a new restaurant that's supposed to be excellent. Let's all go together."

Ngoc Han and Minh Hoang nodded in agreement, and in the blink of an eye, they were in the car, each lost in their own thoughts. Minh Hoang felt a tinge of nervousness, but he couldn't pass up this opportunity. Duat Van always knew how to make things interesting.

The restaurant Duat Van led them to was quite upscale, with a warm yet modern ambiance. Soft yellow lights hung from the ceiling, casting a gentle glow on the wooden tables, creating a romantic and relaxed atmosphere. The tantalizing aroma of food immediately whetted Minh Hoang's appetite, but his mind remained preoccupied with Thanh Khai.

Ngoc Han, noticing Minh Hoang's distraction, teased him gently. "If you keep this up, people will think you're really in love with Thanh Khai."

Minh Hoang blushed involuntarily, quickly shaking his head. "No, it's not… I was just… thinking about something else."

Duat Van, seated across from them, offered an enigmatic smile. "Don't hide it; I can see right through you. In fact, if you want, I can help you."

Minh Hoang looked at Duat Van, surprised by his words. "What do you mean?"

Duat Van calmly met his gaze. "It's simple. If you want Thanh Khai to notice you, let him see the real you. Don't be so timid, don't let your insecurities hold you back. Everything will be easier if you believe in yourself."

Minh Hoang fell silent, Duat Van's words resonating with him like the precious advice he had longed to hear. He felt the wall separating him from Thanh Khai begin to crumble, if not entirely, then at least a glimmer of light had appeared.

Ngoc Han chimed in, "Of course, it won't be a walk in the park. You have to challenge yourself to truly understand the path of love."

The meal proceeded in a cheerful atmosphere, but Minh Hoang sensed a shift within himself. He realized that while his feelings for Thanh Khai might be complicated, he wasn't alone in this journey.

Duat Van, his talented and enigmatic friend, had helped Minh Hoang realize something important. The road ahead might be long, but Minh Hoang wouldn't give up, at least not with the same fear he once held.

The long, quiet nights, the laughter shared in the darkness, everything seemed to transform into beautiful memories in Minh Hoang's life. Though the path might be fraught with challenges, with each step, he felt himself growing stronger.
