Chapter 4: Chapter 4
" Damn, hey let's talk about last night, I couldn't even sleep, you gotta move out of this place, like right noooow", Randy commanded. His eyes were puffy from lack of sleep meanwhile Lana seemed fine.
"You're totally right daddy", Lana said pinching her jaw in deep thought.
"Hmmm too easy, where's the but?", Randy said with squinted eyes.
"Buuuuuttt", Lana said with a high pitch and raised finger.
"Oh my, I knew it", Randy sighed and shook his head.
"We fear the dark because we don't know what lurks in it, what if we just explore and gain an understanding of the unknown?", Lana said trying to convince Randy.
"Look, scientific discovery ended supernatural fears behind thunder, volcanos etc, no more throwing virgins into volcanos to appease the gods", Lana rolled her eyes and sighed but Randy wasn't interested in whatever jibberish she was spitting.
"I'll throw you into a volcano.... Let someone else die exploring, not you", he said while taking off his shirt revealing his muscular body. Randy was a gym guy, he was obsessed with the gym because he had always wanted to look like all those handsome sexy men on TV since childhood.
"You won't listen to me, will you princess? What do you want me to bribe you with?", he said towering over her and touching her face.
"Oh please Mr daddy, Carry me to the room and do all sorts of things to men. I can't wait for you to touch me", Lana squealed sarcastically with an eye roll.
"Disgusting, I thought if I did this, you'd fold like other girls and agree, you're still so dumb", Randy said and sat down.
"How about this Randy? Let me investigate a bit, we'll talk to previous owners about why they moved out... If the reason raises red flags, I'll move out immediately as you wish. This apartment is literally a dream, it's perfect, I can't just let it go" Lana said staring deep in Randy's eyes with her hands on the kitchen counter.
'puppy eye's again? Why does she do this?" Randy sighed.
'i guess she made up her mind, can't talk her out of it, stubborn girl' he thought to himself.
"Deal", Randy said extending his hands for a handshake, Lana smiled brightly as she shook Randy's hand like she had just won the lottery.
"But how are you getting in touch with the previous owners?", Randy asked with his hands under his chin.
"Hi landlady Rosa, I found some items belonging to the past tenants", Lana already called landlady Rosa before Randy could finish his statement.
"Throw them away? Nooooo I'll feel extremely terrible. I know you're busy, just give me their contact details, I'll message them "
Randy just stared at her with parted lips.
' well problem solved I guess, I'm friends with a professional liar' he shook his head and sighed.
*A few hours later*
"Thank you so much for actually meeting up with us Tonia", Lana smiled warmly.
Tonia who was the previous tenant of Lana's new apartment looked all red and flustered. She quickly adjusted her glasses and cleared her throat before replying.
They had met at a cafe just 5 minutes away from the apartment.
"No problem" she said looking away. Randy's presence was having a huge toll on her and Lana couldn't care less.
"Why did you move out of that apartment Tonia?" Lana asked.
"Well here's the thing, I had to move out because.....", she said adjusting herself on the chair.
" Yeah?" Lana said leaning in with anticipation, same with Randy.
"Nooo, it's too weird! I can't tell you! You'll think I'm weird and crazy", she said with her eyes shut and her hands over her face.
"We won't judge, I promise. Randy here just has a reasting bitch face", Lana said pointing at Randy.
"..... Well just a little ", Randy sighed.
"Okay I'll tell you guys", Tonia finally said with a sigh to follow.
"Ughhh no it's too weird", Tonia squealed again with her face covered with her palms.
"Ohhhh and I swear to the 7 seas, I'll hang you right off that cliff hanger", Randy shouted in annoyanc, people turned around to look at the shouting Randy.
"The suspense is killing me", Lana whined holding her cheeks.
*100 whole years later*
"Okay okay, so the reason I moved out of the apartment is...." Tonia finally began speaking which made Lana and Randy sigh in relief.
"I had a housemate named summer, it started when summer said 'our third house mate is so cute', uhmmm we did not have a third housemate ", Tonia looked like she was sweating. Randy and Lana looked at each other after hearing this.
"Can you describe this third housemate?" Lana asked to know if her suspicion is correct.
"Stands at about 6ft tall, green eyes, black hair, tanned muscular body, never really saw the guy myself, only heard the description from summer" Tonia rubbed her hair with nervousness. She looked troubled just talking about it.
"Lana does that sound like the guy you saw? I've only seen his shadow " Randy whispered to Lana so Tonia wouldn't hear.
"Yup that's him", Lana whispered back.
"Okay so where is summer, your former room mate? Can we talk to her?", Randy asked.
"Oh yeah.... About that... Let me just get there" Tonia clenchedh onto her cup of coffee sitting on the table.
" I came home late one night and found her sitting alone in the dark just gazing at the couch", Tonia said and took a sip of her coffee.
"I asked what she was doing and why she was sitted in the dark, she didn't reply me so I called her name again but she shushed me saying I shouldn't disturb him because he was asleep", Tonia stared at the table trying to compose herself.
" I asked who ? She said him, pointing at the couch. Him? Who? The couch? It freaked me out so muuuuuch", Tonia said with her hands in the air looking so annoyed. Randy and Lana were already looking terrified.
"That's pretty scary", Randy said rubbing his arm.
Lana covered her face to smile in her palms while her heart racing.
"Don't bother covering your face, I know you're smiling creep", Randy clicked his tongue.
"Oh I'm sorry, it's just too interesting ", Lana squealed.
"She's enjoying it?", Tonia murmured in confusion.
"One day I received a text from summer that read 'bye Tonia, I'll go with him now', lost by her text, I checked in on her later that day after school but her room was already emptied out", Tonia took another sip from her coffee and sighed deeply.
"I wondered if she moved out already because that was really fast. Curious about it, I decided to ask the landlady about her and you know what she said?", Tonia leaned in on the table and so did Lana and Randy who were really invested in the story.
