Chapter 132 Queen Ant
'That's why it isn't fucking moving, it's a Queen ant'
Xavier saw the white ant at the back laying eggs, which took just a few seconds to hatch into a king ant or a flying king ant, meaning if she wasn't stopped, they were never going to win.
Hundreds of eggs haven't hatched yet so Xavier took the best course of action.
[Firestorm]
He wasn't in a single spot and was moving around but he focused his flame on the eggs and the abdomen of the white ant. Explore stories on My Virtual Library Empire
A vortex of flame appeared above before descending towards the Queen ant and her eggs which had no idea until it hit.
The flames roared as they crashed down, engulfing the eggs and scorching the Queen Ant's abdomen.
The heat was intense and instant, and the stench of burning chitin filled the air.
The eggs shriveled and cracked, their insides turning to ash before they could hatch.
The Queen let out an ear-piercing screech, her massive body trembling in pain from the flame.
She thrashed, her mandibles snapping wildly, but she wasn't dead; his flame wasn't nearly enough to do anything real damage, but it had done enough.
The fire had stopped her from laying more eggs but now another problem arose.
Xavier landed, breathing heavily. His Firestorm had done its job, but now they had to fight the Queen directly.
The ground shook as the Queen pushed herself up, her many legs digging into the ground.
Her white exoskeleton, now a little blackened from the fire, made her look even more monstrous.
She was easily five times the size of the other ants, and her red, glowing eyes locked onto Xavier with pure rage.
The other ants hesitated for a moment as if waiting for her command.
Then, with a deafening shriek, she dashed forward.
"Damn, she's fast..." Xavier mouthed as she lunged forward.
Xavier barely dodged as her massive mandibles snapped shut where he had been standing. The force alone cracked the ground as he dashed away.
"This is going to be a problem," Xavier muttered, gripping his sword tighter as he moved away.
The Harpy, Sylve, and the Dwarf had noticed the shift in battle.
All three of them could sense how strong the Queen was compared to the rest but now they would have to deal with the rest of the ants before they could focus on the Queen.
The Harpy swooped down, sending a gust of wind to push the ants around her back.
"That thing's huge, how do we deal with that when this many tiny ones are running around?" she called out.
"I have something that might help, but I'll need you guys to deal with the ants quickly, real quick, because I can't fend off the Queen alone," Xavier muttered as he slashed another one of the ants.
His clone was now coming towards him inside of heading forward.
Xavier's plan was simple: he and his clone were going to observe the Queen's power carefully while the rest were fighting, and then he was going to try and make a clone of the Queen.
It won't have the durability or the power since his Mana was already cut short by his little flight and the clone he already has, but he still had one of the iron fang snake crystal in his inventory.
That would have to do.
The Queen ant twitched, her legs shifting rapidly as she scanned the battlefield; it seemed she was looking for something or, rather, someone.
Her mandibles clicked together, producing an eerie sound that sent the smaller ants into a frenzy as they continued charging forward.
"She's not just big. She's smart, and I think she is looking for me," Xavier muttered, gripping his sword.
"Well then, let's see what she's capable of."
The Queen let out another screech as she laid eyes on Xavier and rushed forward; surprisingly, none of the smaller ants attacked him or his clone.
The Queen's speed was unnatural for her size. Xavier and his clone split up, dashing in opposite directions to confuse her.
The Queen hesitated for a second before locking onto the clone.
"Good, she sees my clone as a threat," Xavier noted, his eyes narrowing as he turned around and dashed back toward his clone.
The clone managed to dodge its mandibles and swung its sword, aiming for one of her legs, but the Queen reacted instantly.
She lifted her massive limb and slammed it down, the ground cracking beneath the force. The clone barely dodged, rolling to the side before lunging at her again.
Xavier observed closely, her movements weren't just wild attacks—she was calculating.
Every step, every shift of her weight had a purpose, and unlike the smaller ones where he just had to aim for the neck, the Queen's neck was a little out of reach.
The Queen suddenly stopped moving for a brief moment, her body tensing. Xavier's eyes widened as he knew what was going to happen next.
"Move!" He shouted.
But it was too late.
The Queen lunged forward at blinding speed, her mandibles snapping shut around the clone's torso splitting it into two parts.
There was a sickening crunch as the clone was torn in half, its body breaking into pieces.
Xavier barely had time to react before she turned her attention to him.
His instincts screamed at him to move, and he threw himself backward just as her mandibles snapped shut where he had been standing.
Xavier's eyes widened as even the impact made him staggered backward.
The impact shook the ground, sending cracks rippling outward. A cloud of dust rose into the air as Xavier scrambled back to his feet.
"Shit… she's faster than I thought," he muttered, breathing heavily.
The Queen wasn't done. She charged again, her sheer size making it almost impossible for Xavier to evade but he couldn't let himself get killed, not here and certainly not by an ant.
[Wind Stride]
Xavier used the remaining of his Mana to dash away from the Queen before running into one of the flying ants which he slashed the head clean off.
Xavier was running in the air towards Sylve who saw the Queen just seconds behind him and immediately knew what to do.
"Mud trap." She placed her hands on the ground, and a large space turned into mud. Since Xavier wasn't on the ground, he could easily pass while the Queen was stuck in the mud.
"Harden," Sylve completed the spell, and the ground hardened, trapping the Queen ant.
