Magic Era: The great Dungeon

Chapter 3: Training

Mr. Smith walked thoughtfully through the village, the villagers greeted him and he responded out of courtesy.

The day after the harvest festival, he had asked out of curiosity about the boy who wanted to be an adventurer, and had been surprised by the villagers' answers.

Nim was special in the village for his strange physical ability, he had great physical strength at his young age, surpassing even the adult villagers.

He was also very loved in the village because he helped with physical work, after finishing those jobs he did not seem very tired thanks also to his great vitality.

Also according to the information given by the villagers Nim had a strange personality, sometimes he behaved like a child of his age, even acting very impulsive, and other times he acted like a mature person, more so when it came to protecting someone else.

Even with the last thing said, Mr. Smith believed that he would become a great adventurer, as long as he did not act impulsively.

Still thinking about that, he is surprised by a child who was quickly approaching him, the child was out of breath from running so fast "S.. Mr. Smith please save Nim" the child suddenly says.

This child was Leo who had come to ask for help, upon reaching the town with Fauna he did not stop and ran in search of Mr. Smith.

"Nim?.. what happened" Mr. Smith is surprised to hear the name of who he was thinking of.

"A goblin appeared where we were and Nim stayed behind so that me and Fauna could escape" Leo says in a hurry.

"Where, take me quickly" Smith surprised rushes and follows Leo to the forest.

To save time Smith grabs Leo and carries him, Leo understands that it is so as not to delay him, Smith running follows the path that Leo indicates.

Until advancing to a certain point, Smith stops

abruptly, he sees that in front there is a child with blood on his clothes and on his face, the moonlight makes him look bloodthirsty.

"Nim?" Leo says surprised as he observes the shocking scene.

"Hello Leo, I defeated the monster" Nim says in a cheerful tone."What are you doing here?" Nim looks at Mr. Smith.

"We were supposed to come to save you, but it seems that it is no longer necessary" Smith puts Leo down "Let's go back."

Nim and Leo followed him silently until they reached the town.

Upon returning, Mr. Smith reported this incident to the town and they were warned not to enter the forest during this period of time.

Meanwhile, he would do an investigation in the nearby areas.

Nim's parents, upon hearing that he faced a monster, even that he killed one, felt surprised and scared at the same time by the danger their son went through.

The parents had decided that Nim would not leave the town until it was safe, Nim, although he was not happy with that decision, listened to his parents.

After a few days of Mr. Smith investigating the regions near the town and the forest, he returned to give a report to the town, he had not found a single monster, only common wild beasts.

.....

" Nim, although Mr. Smith said there were no monsters, you will not leave the town yet" a young lady told him in a firm tone, even though he was still a 10-year-old boy.

" Yes, mother" Nim nodded with a sad face.

Nim's mother softened upon seeing him sad, "son, I'm just worried that you'll face that danger again," although she knew her son was strong due to his strange physical ability, she still worried like any mother.

"Okay, let's eat, your father will arrive any minute now" The mother began to prepare the dishes on the table. "Go wash your hands."

Nim ran back to get water from the well, and when he came back he saw his father entering through the door with a person.

" Mr. Smith, please sit down" Nim's father gestured to him.

"Thank you, don't worry too much about the labels" Smith sits down.

Nim's mother who was taken by surprise starts to bring another plate.

"Mr. Smith, what do we owe your visit today to?" Nim's father asks.

"I came today to talk about your son Nim" Mr. Smith answers and looks ahead.

"My.. son" Nim's father follows Mr. Smith's gaze and sees Nim standing.

"Boy, do you want me to train you?" Mr. Smith asks Nim.

Nim who is standing watching all this answers "yes" while nodding with emotion.

Nim's mother who was returning looks worried at this situation.

"I'll give you time to think about it," Mr. Smith stands up. "Thank you for your hospitality," Mr. Smith says goodbye and leaves.

After Mr. Smith left, Nim's father is pensive, and the mother also serves the food in silence.

Only Nim had an excited look at the words Mr. Smith said.

Previously, he had already thought about asking Mr. Smith to train him, but he didn't know if he would accept. He had been planning what to do to get him to accept, but now he didn't have to do anything about it.

It seems that his performance with the goblin had surprised him.

"Nim," his father's voice broke the silence "Do you want to train with Mr. Smith?" Nim's father already knew about Nim's desire to be an adventurer and had not objected, but he still waited for a while until the latter started training.

Especially his wife who worries about this matter of being an adventurer, even the idea of not letting Nim go out during this period of time was for his wife.

But the two of them knew that sooner or later Nim would separate from them, it was just happening too soon.

"Yes" Nim answered, the father already knew the answer but still wanted to ask it, after that he looked at his wife.

Nim understanding that also looks at his mother, the mother feeling the gaze of the two put on a helpless expression.

"Mother" Nim spoke

"It's.. fine, but you must eat very well and pay attention to what Mr. Smith says" Nim's mother finally said.

"Yes" Nim nodded quickly

Now that both his parents had agreed, he quickly finished his meal and went to find Mr. Smith.

On the way he met Leo who greeted him and continued running.

Leo looked at his behavior strangely.

After Nim found Mr. Smith and gave him the answer, Mr. Smith agreed that they would start tomorrow morning and that he would train him depending on how much he could endure.

Upon knowing this, Nim returned home in a very good mood.

...

The next day Nim jumped out of bed, he had hardly slept from the excitement of training,

He quickly got ready, greeted his parents and ate the breakfast that his mother had prepared, his mother had made enough food for him, which he gladly ate.

After leaving his house he went to the agreed place where he would train.

Upon arriving, he sees Mr. Smith sitting on a rock. "You're early." The man points to one side. "Sit down. Before we get to the practical stuff, I'll need to explain the basics of what it means to be an adventurer."
