Chapter 235: MD-Chapter 234 Farewell

This was no exaggeration.

Several crucial turning points in Arthur's life were closely related to the Tesseract.

So at this moment, looking at the blue cube in Odin's hand, Arthur's expression was quite complex.

"Rest well today," Odin said with a smile. "When you are ready to master it, this object will be completely handed over to you."

"You need to learn to truly control the power within you," Frigga added. "Don't let the Tesseract influence you too much. This will be our first lesson. Resisting and controlling!"

Describing the fluctuations of the internal spatial energy as 'riots' was indeed quite apt.

After leaving the palace, Thor stealthily beckoned Arthur.

They went to the tavern they had visited before, ordered two large barrels of fine wine— one for each— and drank while chatting.

Their conversation mainly revolved around recent events and Loki's situation.

During the conversation, Arthur brought up the team he was assembling, and Thor enthusiastically agreed to support it.

Thor was a straightforward man who valued his promises and he also had heavy concerns and expressed his confusion and disappointment regarding Loki's actions.

Arthur pondered for a while, unsure how to offer suitable comfort.

Getting Thor to believe in Loki completely? That was not an option; it would probably lead to Thor being betrayed and suffering greatly at Loki's hands.

But to treat Loki as a complete enemy was also not appropriate.

After all, in the third installment, Loki had sacrificed the Tesseract to save his brother and even ambushed Thanos, leading to his death…

This proved that Loki harbored complex feelings towards Thor, which couldn't be simply summarized as hatred or jealousy.

So, after much thought, Arthur finally said to Thor, "Loki is your brother. What kind of person do you think he is?"

"Scheming and cunning, always playing tricks, but without much hate in his heart. He often doesn't consider the consequences of his actions."

Thor then looked at Arthur and said, "I know it's not my place to say this, but I believe Loki was momentarily misled, which led him to act this way. He's now imprisoned."

"If possible, I'd like to see him," Arthur said with a smile. "Actually, saying something like this doesn't mean much to me personally. I don't have particularly bad feelings about him, but I do think he is quite cunning. Don't trust him blindly. Always remain vigilant, but if possible, you might also consider trusting him."

Thor was taken aback and suddenly burst into laughter. "Let's drink!"

The two continued drinking, and with the large barrels, each drank three barrels, losing track of where all the wine went.

Eventually, Thor was drunk, red-faced, and stumbling out of the tavern.

Arthur decided to go and see Loki. After Thor wobbled back to the palace, Arthur headed towards the prison.

When he arrived and prepared to enter, he was stopped by the guards.

Arthur realized he hadn't obtained any credentials from Thor to visit Loki.

Turning away, he reached a corner, released The Eye of Horus, and using a quick flash, reappeared inside the prison.

"No credentials? No problem. I'll get in myself."

Arthur looked around and found that the area was quite empty. Clearly, Asgard had great confidence in their prison security, as there were very few guards.

He then turned his gaze to Loki, who was enclosed within a golden barrier in his cell.

Loki was staring back at Arthur.

They exchanged glances, and suddenly Arthur smiled. "You lost."

Loki's face darkened. "You've come here just to mock me?"

"No, I just wanted to see why you haven't been killed by Hulk yet."

"I'm also puzzled about why you took that dangerous toy into space and ended up here in Asgard instead."

Loki sighed and said, "I originally thought this bet would end with your death."

"Too bad," Arthur shrugged.

"No!"

Loki countered, "It might actually be quite interesting. So, are you here to talk about the first matter?"

"Of course not. I'm just here to see you," Arthur said with a smile. "And seeing you so determined to honor the bet, I even find you a bit endearing."

Loki scowled at Arthur.

Arthur thought for a moment and said, "I believe you'll have your chance to come out one day, and when that happens, our bet might come into play. I don't know what I'll make you do in the end, but if you keep your word, so will I... Well then, goodbye."

"Is that all you came to say?"

Loki suddenly spoke up.

Arthur stopped and looked at Loki. "Oh? What do you want to say?"

"In fact, our bet could be put into effect right now. If you release me now, I could help you with something. Or perhaps, I could find something interesting for you in the Asgardian vault? I remember you said you were interested in the Tesseract; maybe I could help you get it."

"The Tesseract has already been given to me by your father," Arthur said. "That offer holds no appeal for me, and you... are not yet ready to come out."

"Not yet ready?"

Loki frowned. "What do you mean? When do you think it would be appropriate for me to come out?"

Arthur remained silent, simply giving Loki a disdainful glance before disappearing.

"Come back!!!"

But of course, Arthur would not return.

Loki was furious. He had always looked down on others from his lofty position as a god, but now it was Arthur who had looked down on him. This was unacceptable.

Enraged, Loki kicked at the golden barrier, but the powerful force rebounded, causing him to fall back into his cell, grinding his teeth in frustration.

---

"He is quite a sharp guy."

Arthur's figure appeared in mid-air, spreading his raven wings as he flew towards the palace. "Being this sharp isn't likely to make you popular... but might it give him a sense of deep mystery about me?"

He pondered that it wasn't entirely impossible.

Smart people often overthink, and that recent comment might lead Loki to speculate more without any solid evidence, potentially adding an air of mystery to Arthur in his mind.
