Bang! Bang!!

Amid the heavy snowfall, each gunshot echoed, leaving behind a trail of blood-red blossoms staining the pristine white ground, as though paving a bloody path to hell.

Mr. Astonishment's cloned mutant subordinates, one after another, fell lifeless amidst the symphony of death.

No one had ever imagined that a single gun could cause such chaos and devastation for a group of mutants.

Mutants! Individuals wielding extraordinary powers!

Fuming with indignation, one mutant hiding behind cover clenched his teeth and darted out.

He refused to believe it. With his speed, surely the opponent couldn't hit him!

Bang!

A single shot shattered his delusion—his head was obliterated in an instant.

As it turned out, Mike could hit him.

His heart pounded furiously, blood coursing through his veins like a raging river. Mike's face was flushed crimson, radiating intense heat despite the icy snowfall around him.

The phenomenon known as Assassin Time—often referred to as Bullet Time by some—wasn't a power meant for prolonged use. It was a burst ability, one that pushed the user to their limit.

Yet Mike had already sustained it for an extended period.

Calculating the seconds before he would reach his breaking point, Mike reinforced himself with two more shield layers. He clenched several cards between his teeth, reloaded a fresh magazine into his rifle, and resumed firing.

The sound of gunfire filled the air, leaving Mr. Astonishment's mutant subordinates visibly grim. In contrast, the members of the Hellfire faction couldn't hide their joy as their morale surged.

Someone was assisting them—and with devastating effectiveness. In mere moments, this unknown ally had taken down more enemies than all of them combined.

Scott gazed toward the direction of the gunfire, gratitude gleaming in his eyes. He was relieved that their enemies lacked long-range capabilities. If there had been someone with powers akin to his own among the opposition, that ally would have been in grave danger...

Wait.

Scott's expression turned peculiar.

Wasn't his power far stronger and with greater range than any firearm?

If he were positioned where that ally was, and had something like a telescope for assistance...

I'm such an idiot...

In that moment, Scott felt an almost irresistible urge to slap himself.

Meanwhile, when the first shot rang out, Raven had already reverted to her original form. She had no desire to be mistaken for an enemy and risk getting shot.

Mike!

She was certain it was Mike who had opened fire.

No ordinary gunman could exude such overwhelming pressure.

Even though Mike had settled into his role as a doting father, he was once known as the King of Assassins—a title he hadn't earned lightly.

The moment he picked up a gun, the threat he posed was nothing short of terrifying.

"He came to save me, that bastard... At least he has a shred of decency."

Raven muttered under her breath, a barely concealed joy lighting up her face. But her relief quickly turned to alarm as she watched Mr. Astonishment, with Emma Frost in his grasp, rise slowly into the air and direct his gaze toward Mike's position.

Get out of here, you idiot!

Raven screamed internally, narrowly dodging a fiery projectile that nearly hit her.

"Raven! Focus!"

The towering Rick shouted as he turned back to shield Raven with his massive frame, enduring a barrage of attacks.

Whoosh!

A crimson beam shot out from behind Rick, slicing through the night as it forced back several enemies. The beam's source, Scott, then shifted his aim toward Mr. Astonishment, who was ascending toward Mike. The ruby-red ray tore through the darkness, heading straight for Mr. Astonishment's back.

Mr. Astonishment frowned briefly. Glancing at the diamondized Emma Frost in his grip, a sinister smirk tugged at his lips. Without hesitation, he flung her directly toward the incoming beam.

Scott's eyes widened in horror, and he hastily shut them.

In an instant, the crimson beam dissipated into sparkling motes of light before it could touch Emma.

"Heh."

Mr. Astonishment chuckled darkly, using his telekinetic abilities to pull Emma back into his grasp.

The diamondized Emma seethed with rage, yelling furiously, "You bastard!"

Is This What She's Become?

Emma's diamond-sharp fingers, honed to a razor's edge, slashed toward Mr. Astonishment's face like a blade. Yet, they left only a faint scratch.

Emma felt powerless.

During the time she'd been in his grasp, she had attempted several attacks, but his body was terrifyingly strong. Her efforts had barely scratched the surface.

The scratch on Mr. Astonishment's face vanished in an instant. He glanced at Emma and said calmly, "In a moment, I'll be quite rude. Consider this an early apology."

Rude? Apology?

Before Emma could process his words, Mr. Astonishment swung his arm and hurled her away.

The wind roared, and ice and snow whipped against her face. Emma, like a diamond bullet, shot through the air amidst her screams and the howling gale, hurtling toward Mike.

A diamond missile? Seriously? This is way too extravagant!

Mike's eye twitched. The card clamped between his teeth vanished in an instant. As the "missile" bore down, Mike disappeared with a flash.

Boom!

The diamond projectile obliterated the spot where Mike had been standing, leaving a deep scar on the ground. Its momentum tore through the rooftop, nearly splitting the entire building in two.

Hovering mid-air after teleporting, Mike grimaced at the destruction. He raised his gun and fired a shot at Mr. Astonishment.

Mr. Astonishment raised his hand, summoning an invisible force that blocked the bullet. With a flick of his fingers, he sent the bullet hurtling back. In the same motion, he pulled the furious, disheveled, and cursing Emma back into his grasp. Then, he shifted his gaze to Mike, who was plummeting headfirst toward the ground.

The card in Mike's mouth vanished.

*Name:* Featherfall.

*Skill Description:* Slows the speed of descent.

*Note:* Light as a feather, defying common sense—because it's magic!

Mike's fall slowed, and he drifted down like a feather. As he gently descended, he took aim with his rifle and fired again.

Bang!

The gunfire rang out.

Mr. Astonishment's eyes turned icy. He clenched his fist toward Mike, summoning an invisible force to grab him. At the same time, he once again hurled Emma toward Mike.

"Fuck!"

Emma, her queenly demeanor entirely gone, cursed loudly, flying helplessly through the air.

Anticipating Mr. Astonishment's move, Mike's card disappeared once more. He teleported away just as another bullet left his gun. The instant he reappeared, he quickly reinforced himself with several new cards.

Seeing this, Mr. Astonishment's expression darkened with growing irritation.

He extended his hand with a casual push, unleashing a wave of vibrating energy. It surged through the falling snow, roaring like a furious beast as it hurtled toward Mike.

A series of cards vanished from Mike's mouth, summoning several protective layers of shields. The shields not only absorbed the vibrating energy but also stabilized him, keeping him in position. Without missing a beat, he fired another bullet.

Meanwhile, Emma—the "Diamond Missile"—cursed angrily as she homed in on him again. Mike teleported once more to avoid her.

As long as I have cards, I have skills!

Unless you exhaust my cards and break through my shields, you'll never defeat me!
