Marvel : I'm in Westview Town

Chapter 58: Chapter 58 : Try it in Bed and You'll know it

Buzz buzz...

At the moment!

The entire hall trembled violently, and the floor tiles beneath them began to collapse, revealing an endless void of nothingness and whiteness.

"Who is that...?"

Doctor Strange locked his gaze onto the figure enshrouded in black mist. He knew, without a doubt, that this being was responsible for everything unfolding before them.

The most suspicious one was the man standing at the center of it all.

Strange could sense an overwhelming surge of power radiating from him, something unlike anything he had encountered before. But within a second, it vanished—as if it had never been there to begin with.

An illusion? Or something more sinister?

"Stephen, this is bad. We need to get these people out of here, now!"

Wong's voice broke through his thoughts. Around them, thousands of unconscious civilians lay scattered across the hall. If the space collapsed completely, they would all be swallowed by the void, their fragile human bodies torn apart in seconds by the violent hurricane that lurked beyond.

This entire space would cease to exist within moments.

"You're right. Saving them takes priority."

Doctor Strange turned away from the black mist and joined Wong in their efforts to evacuate the civilians.

"Using the portal—it's still the most effective spell we have."

Wong shouted, his Sling Ring glowing with golden energy as he traced a circular motion beneath a group of unconscious people.

Whoosh!

A portal materialized beneath them, and they fell through, reappearing in the cold, desolate forest outside.

Portals were the fastest and safest way to transport them out of this collapsing dimension. But with so many people to evacuate, it was still a daunting task.

"There are too many..."

Strange grimaced but quickly created more portals, focusing on getting as many people out as possible.

Then, in the corner of his eye, he spotted a familiar crimson figure lying motionless not far away.

Scarlet Witch.

"Wanda!"

A faint cough broke the silence.

Wanda Maximoff stirred, her eyes fluttering open as she gasped for breath.

"Stephen...? What are you doing here?"

She placed a hand to her forehead, trying to recall what had happened. But the moment her mind cleared, she immediately turned towards the center of the destruction.

Her eyes locked onto the black mist. Two figures still remained within it.

A wave of relief washed over her, but it was quickly replaced by alarm.

She had skimmed through the Darkhold before, seen its forbidden spells and unimaginable power. But could a beginner, no matter how talented, truly wield that much destructive energy?

BOOM!!!

Her thoughts were cut short as the violent shaking of the hall intensified.

"I don't have time to explain. We need to get out of here first. We can talk later—preferably over coffee."

Strange panted, still working alongside Wong to evacuate the last few civilians.

Now, only Wanda and a few others remained.

"I'm going to save Finn first."

Wanda's voice was firm as she gazed towards the black mist. She summoned her Chaos Magic and propelled herself towards the center of the destruction.

"Wanda, wait! It's not stable over there!"

Strange's warning came too late. The space in the central area was thinner than paper, ready to collapse at any moment.

But Wanda was desperate. Finn was still in there, and she wasn't about to stand by and do nothing.

Then—

BOOM!!!

The black mist exploded outward, sending a raging energy storm cascading through the hall like a tidal wave.

As the mist cleared, three figures were thrown out, crashing onto the ground in rapid succession.

"Finn!"

Wanda's eyes widened as she saw the unconscious figures.

Finn and Josie lay motionless, their bodies limp and still.

Without hesitation, she extended her hand, her scarlet energy wrapping around them gently, pulling them towards her.

Meanwhile, Wong clenched his fists as he saw the ground cracking apart at an alarming speed.

"Stephen, the floor's collapsing! Open the portal wider! Get everyone out now!"

"Should've done this earlier."

Gritting his teeth, Strange lifted both hands, channeling all his energy into a massive golden portal. The entire lower portion of the hall disappeared into the swirling gateway.

Whoosh!

In an instant, everyone still trapped inside was transported to the cold forest outside.

The ruined church remained, but the once-open door to the other dimension had closed. Everything was back to normal, as if the nightmare had never happened.

The people who had been teleported lay unconscious on the grass, unmoving.

The chilling wind did nothing to wake them.

Thud!

"Hah... finally..."

Wanda let out a breath of relief. Her hands still glowing, she gently lowered Finn and Josie onto the grass.

The moment she set them down, she rushed to Finn's side. Her brows furrowed in worry as she touched his pale face, her hand trembling slightly.

Carefully, she removed her coat and draped it over him, her voice soft, almost pleading:

"Finn...?"

Her voice was unsteady, laced with fear.

"Cough... cough..."

Finn stirred.

In truth, he was perfectly fine. Even though he had just fought against an Apostle of Mephisto using a technique he had only learned yesterday, it was nothing more than an exercise for him.

The spell was new, but his foundation in magic was leagues ahead of Wanda's and Strange's.

Still—

Seeing Strange nearby, Finn decided it was best to play along.

Better to avoid any unnecessary suspicion.

But the moment he heard Wanda's trembling voice, any thought of acting fell away.

He slowly opened his eyes, forcing a weak smile.

"Wanda, I'm fine... just a little tired."

He tried to sit up, but Wanda immediately pressed him back down.

"Don't move. Don't talk."

Her voice was firm, yet gentle, her eyes glossy with unshed tears. "You look terrible. Don't try to act tough."

"Then shouldn't you check on Josie first?"

Finn chuckled weakly, glancing at the unconscious girl beside him.

"She's fine. I already checked."

Wanda gave him a sharp look. "You, on the other hand, look like you lost half your life."

"Who, me? Nonsense."

Finn smirked, taking her hand in his. "If you don't believe me, we can test it later... in bed."

"Shh!" Wanda gasped, her face turning scarlet. She quickly covered his mouth, throwing a nervous glance at Josie, relieved to see she was still asleep.

"Witch, I'm not joking."

Before Finn could continue teasing her, a new voice interrupted them.

"Wanda, is that the Apostle of Mephisto?"

Strange's footsteps approached.

He pointed towards the unconscious black-robed figure in the distance.

"He actually made it out..."

Wanda's expression darkened.

The Apostle of Mephisto had also fallen through the portal and survived.

"From what I can tell, he's a Mephisto Apostle."

Strange narrowed his eyes, then turned towards Finn. He extended a hand.

"You two are together now?"

Finn coughed lightly before taking his hand. "Yeah. Finn. Wanda's girlfriend."

"Doctor Stephen Strange. People usually call me Doctor Strange."

As their hands met, Strange's fingers emitted a faint magical energy—an attempt to probe Finn's true nature.

But when he touched Finn's mind—

He saw it.

An abyss of darkness.

A force so sinister and ancient that it made even Stephen Strange freeze in horror.

"My god... what is that...?"
