Chapter 34: 34: Heart Ailments Require Heart Remedies
"Yuki, the most important thing is that I only just found out about my background."
"My father handed me the investigative report compiled by the Spencer family last night before returning to England."
"If he hadn't gone back, he said he would have kept it from me forever."
Sawamura Akira's words brought a measure of relief to Suou Yumi and Suou Yuki's hearts.
"How could this be?"
"Uzumi, Yuki dear, Akira is the child of the Kujou and Sawamura families."
"This is a legally established fact that cannot be changed."
"Whether he is talented or not, he is my grandson, and Sayuri's son."
"Even without his current achievements, he would still be the heir of the Sawamura family."
"His surname is Sawamura. He cannot return to the Suou family."
Kujou Seiko stated decisively, making it clear that she would never let Sawamura Akira leave.
"Madam, but he is also my biological son!"
"For so many years, I have lived in regret and self-recrimination."
"I hate myself for not insisting on keeping Masachika at the Suou house back then."
"Instead, I let him leave with his biological father."
Suou Yumi's voice was filled with pain, as if she were a crying cuckoo, her sorrow and grief pressing on everyone's nerves, suffocating them.
After those words, it was as if she had drained all her energy. Already frail and pale, Suou Yumi suddenly lost strength and collapsed forward.
Sawamura Akira reacted swiftly, catching Suou Yumi in his arms.
"Sakurako, go call the family doctor immediately."
"Yes, Grandma."
Seeing this unfold, Kujou Seiko regretted the situation immensely. What should have been a simple recognition of lineage had turned into a tug-of-war.
Originally, her grandson was the rightful heir of the Kujou and Sawamura families. Now, they would have to share him with the Suou family.
Given Suou Yumi's frail health, if she were denied the right to acknowledge her son, she might pass away from grief.
"Had I known this would happen, I would have never hosted this welcome banquet today."
Hearing Kujou Seiko's lament, many around her couldn't help but chuckle softly.
"Look who's talking. You're the one who insisted on showing off your genius grandson."
"And you, Sayuri, are any different?"
"You just wanted to flaunt your talented son. Otherwise, why would you have sent me that poem last night under the guise of 'appreciation'?"
Kujou Seiko quickly shot back at Sayuri, not letting her escape responsibility.
After a middle-aged female doctor administered first aid, Suou Yumi slowly regained consciousness in Sawamura Akira's arms.
"Young Master Akira, this lady's body is extremely weak."
"Her blood and energy levels are dangerously low."
"Due to extreme emotional fluctuations, her brain suffered temporary oxygen deprivation, leading to the fainting spell."
"You must be careful not to agitate her further."
"If she loses consciousness again, she might not wake up next time."
"My recommendation is that she maintains a cheerful and relaxed mood while focusing on long-term recovery."
"Heart ailments require heart remedies."
After finishing the emergency treatment, the doctor excused herself.
That final phrase made Sawamura Akira's face twist into a bitter smile.
"Brother, Mother never gave up looking for you."
"She has spent years drowning in regret and self-blame."
"She even reduced her daily meals to just two a day."
"She's been suffering so much. Please, can you come back home?"
Suou Yuki pleaded with eyes full of sorrow.
Meanwhile, Eriri elbowed Sawamura Sayuri nervously and asked in a hushed voice:
"Mom, aren't you worried at all?"
"Worried about what?"
"Akira and I share an unbreakable bond."
"No mother in the world can match me."
Sawamura Sayuri declared confidently, her face beaming with self-satisfaction.
"I think what you mean is that no one is as shameless as you."
"You're a full-grown woman, yet you still cling to Akira and make him carry you."
"You even steal kisses from him!"
As soon as Eriri said this, everyone started looking at Sayuri with strange expressions.
"Eriri, that's my special advantage."
"If you have the skills, grow as tall as me!"
Everyone: ...
They were completely defeated by Sayuri's shamelessness.
"I think you're the one who's actually worried."
"You're no longer Akira's only little sister."
"Tsk tsk, I bet you'll cry into your pillow tonight."
"That Suou Yuki girl looks way more honest about her feelings than you."
"Who's going to cry?!"
"Akira always keeps his promises."
"He vowed to Dad that he'd stay with the Sawamura family forever. He won't go back on his word."
Eriri wasn't worried about Akira leaving.
Her real concern was that Suou Yuki's presence might take some of Akira's attention away from her.
"Yuki, you heard Eriri."
"My father has returned to England and will never come back."
"I promised him I'd stay with the Sawamura family forever and protect Mom and Eriri."
"But Brother, Mother and I are also your family!"
"We are your real, blood-related family!"
Suou Yuki's voice cracked as she shouted in frustration.
"Masachika, is that really you?"
"I finally found you…"
Waking up in the arms of her long-lost son, Suou Yumi weakly lifted her hand, her voice barely a whisper.
"Mother, I only have one name in this life—Sawamura Akira."
"I will not return to the Suou family."
Upon hearing those words, Suou Yumi's gaze darkened, as though all hope had been snuffed out.
"But if you and Yuki can accept it, I will visit you both every week."
The next second, the light of hope reignited in Suou Yumi's eyes.
