CHAPTER START---

"What the hell are you?" Mr.Compress asks, now dropped onto the floor and looking up at Horizon.

"Power," was Horizon's only response.

Taking a relaxed posture in his seat and looking up at the sky.

His head was shrouded in thick blue energy vapor, rising high like a flame before dispersing and falling to the ground all around the plaza.

The civilians who'd still been shocked from witnessing Twice's death now felt the cool sensation of his healing energy reaching them.

All around the plaza the few trees and potted plants grew at a visible rate, drinking in the energy and expanding exponentially until their roots broke their containers and the stone floor.

"This isn't right," Mr.Compress says as he looks around, clutching his wound that's also rapidly healing. "How do you have a Quirk like this? A Quirk that seems designed to heal the world. And you're just…the worst."

"That same stupid question. People always ask, 'Why are you like this', and 'What does it take to be Horizon'. As if you could ever get it. I became a necessity before I became Horizon. Can't be Horizon if the world can afford to replace you."

"Tch, so just because they need you, you get to be a piece of shit?"

"Well, from where you're kneeling I see why you'd think that. But I'm just being myself," Horizon laughs loud enough that even the onlookers can hear it.

A laugh of arrogance and confidence, absolute certainty in himself.

And even his most loyal supporters felt a chill run down their spine.

Mr. Compress looks around, taking in all the cameras recording what would surely be his death, and before he could truly wrap his mind around it.

"This is everything you wanted right, Atsuhiro Sako?"

His attention snaps back to Horizon.

"I have Twice, Spinner, and Toga's memories. I know you, and I know that you're just some attention-starved street magician trying to pass yourself off as a 'Master Thief'. Like your grandfather was."

"Then you know how much our dreams mean to us. How much continuing the legacy of my family means to me, to us."

"Yeah, but we're all failures in that department." Horizon waves his hand and an unconscious, bone-drenched Dadi appears beside Mr. Compress.

"Dabi! What did you do to him?"

"Fire users don't do well underwater. Pretty surprising huh."

"Why are you doing this?" Mr. Compress asks. "Just get it over with already."

"I was just giving my brain a chance to cool down, and sending a little message to Shigaraki. I can't rapidly rip memories out of people one after another because I haven't mastered that technique yet."

Mr. Compress looks over at Dabi who is starting to wake up, and can't find a fraction of hope in this situation.

"I do have to ask one thing, for the official record," Horizon says as he gets up and walks over to the villain. "You people attacked UA and declared war on hero society before you knew I existed. So, if you had more information, if you knew about me, would you have changed anything?"

Mr. Compress doesn't have to think about it.

Even as Horizon walks beside him and palms his head, the question rings hollow.

Because they've been asking themselves this for over a year, and the answer is always the same.

"No," he says. "I would go back and be a Hero, because the world doesn't have enough heroes. And I don't think they'll ever have enough for what comes next."

"Oh, and what's that?"

"Whatever the hell you are, because it's only a matter of time before you cross a line that people can't tolerate. And who will save them from you?"

Horizon looks down at the villains, and while the people watching live wait for his response.

He instead simply rips the memories out of the villain's skull, gruesomely killing him and leaving his corpse beside Twice's.

SHAMBLES!

His mask and visor appear back on his head, sealing away his healing energy from leaking out.

He shakes his head a few times and takes a deep breath, allowing people to see him visibly relax, maintaining the illusion.

'I should leave these two morons here for a while, just to hammer in the message,' Horizon thinks while stepping over Mr. Compress's corpse.

He walks over to Dabi and flips him over with his foot.

The villain begins coughing up even more water.

Dabi barely opens his eyes in time to see Horizon's boot rocket toward his face before everything goes black.

Minutes later he stirs awake, feeling a numbness in his body and having difficulty breathing.

"What?" He asks while finally taking in his new home.

He was lying against a wall with thick steel restraints on his limbs and neck.

His shirt had been stripped away to reveal a mess of scars, stitches, and burns all across his body.

Everything around him was shiny steel aside from the large glass pane at the far side of the room, showing a viewing area on the other side and another steel wall behind it.

A camera and a turret attached to the ceiling were in the corners of the room, aimed directly at him.

But most uncomfortably, on his face was an oxygen mask, making it uncomfortable to breathe.

'Tartarus,' Dabi realizes. 'I'm probably on floor 5, which means All For One is somewhere on this floor. If I can get to him then busting out of here should be ea—'

SHAMBLES!

Horizon suddenly appears a few feet in front of him, standing casually with his arms crossed.

Dabi instantly tries to attack by igniting his flames.

But the flames he expected didn't even flicker to life, he could feel his Quirk, but it was as if the flames couldn't form.

The turret immediately fires thirty bullets directly at his chest and head, all of which Horizon stops with Takt before they hurt Dabi.

"That's what happens if you try to use your Quirk in here," Horizon says as the bullets drop to the floor. "They monitor your brain waves, not that there can be much in there."

Dabi narrows his eyes at Horizon. "My Quirk, my heart, did—"

"This room is starved of oxygen. It's not a vacuum, just oxygen-deprived. That's why you need that mask, and since that mask isn't fireproof, I'd recommend against burning it unless you want the supply to stop and the guard to just wait for you to get knocked out from lack of oxygen. After that, they'd just put another mask on you."

"So you didn't take out my heart, like the others."

Horizon sighs. "Nah. I figured seeing you like this would already be bad enough, I didn't want you to have a hole in your chest when your dad gets here."

"My dad?"

Horizon tilts his head slightly.

"How did you figure that out?" Dabi narrows his eyes at Horizon. "I didn't even tell anyone in the League of Villains about that."

"But you did leave blood samples at a few crime scenes. It was easy enough since, you know," He points at himself. "But the Nomu organs in your body are interesting too."

"Nomu organs?"

"Ahh, so you don't know. Well, that's not my concern, and doesn't change my statement."

"What statement?"

"When whatever little stunt you have about trashing Endeavor goes live I'll just tell the world All For One took you and did Nomu experiments on you, that's why you're like this," Horizons says, jokingly.

"No!" Dabi bruises himself trying to lunge at Horizon. "This isn't because of All For One, it's that piece of shit that made me like this! That whole useless trash family! You can't just shift the blame like that!"

"Well, it's my word against the word of some part Nomu villain. Besides, All For One wants to be the devil. What is the devil good for if not to take the blame for our bad decisions?"

Dabi cries blood for a minute as they simply stare at each other, then he finally speaks.

"Does anyone else know?" Dabi asks. "When my files upload everyone will know, but—"

"Nope, only Enveavor and I. Well, Pantu and Hawks know too, and Nezu, but you probably don't care about them, right? Your other siblings don't know."

"Hawks," Dabi speaks the name as if it burnt his tongue. "I knew he was a damn traitor, that's why our attack didn't work. He told you we were attacking UA."

"Actually, no."

"What?"

"Hawks didn't say anything," Horizon says. "You aren't important enough for his mission so I don't care about his reports unless it involves Shigaraki or the Nomu creator. But the last few raids were suspicious, with a trail leading far away from Japan.

Shigaraki made it too obvious that he was leading my team and I away so he could make a play here. And Hawks likely knew I'd figure it out and stop it, so he didn't risk his cover by warning me.

But most of the credit goes to Nezu on this one. After that Tech incident, he set up a system where if the signal ever goes down my phone immediately tells me. So when you blocked all signals, instead of blocking a distress signal they would have sent…"

"We blocked the 'all clear' signal that's always transmitting between you two, damn it."

"Then it was just a matter of coming here and dealing with all of you. Shigaraki delivered you all to me with his stupid plan of recovering Kurogiri."

"Tch, whatever," Dabi scoffs. "Endeavor knows the truth, so even if you lie to keep the public on his side. He'll know, my family will know what a piece of shit he is. And that pain will never leave him, so I win."

"Hm, your dad is the #1 hero and you wind up on the opposite side, what a failed legacy…"

SHAMBLES!

Horizon warps away as Endeavor appears in the visitor's area, instantly infuriating Dabi…
