Chapter 2: Chapter 02 ~ Mt. Lady

Chapter 02 ~ Mt. Lady

The next morning, the streets of Tokyo buzzed with life as cars zipped past in a chaotic symphony of honks and engine roars. Naruto walked along the sidewalk, his blue eyes slightly tired and his steps dragging. The strange atmosphere of this place had kept him awake most of the night, leaving him restless and uneasy.

"This weird vibe... is this some kind of Genjutsu or something?" he muttered to himself, scratching the back of his head. His bright orange jacket, emblazoned with the red Uzumaki spiral, stood out starkly against the sea of muted colors around him. A blue backpack, worn but sturdy, rested against his back, fastened securely over his shoulders. At his forehead, his silver headband gleamed under the morning sun, the engraved Leaf Village symbol reflecting the light.

Opening his backpack, he pulled out a crumpled rice ball, its edges slightly frayed. He took a bite, chewing thoughtfully. "Cold and a little stale, but better than nothing," he said with a shrug.

As he walked, people shot him odd glances, their eyes lingering on his unconventional outfit. Some whispered behind their hands, others outright sneered.

"What's with that guy? Is he cosplaying or something?" one passerby muttered.

"Looks like he crawled out of a sewer," another added with a laugh.

Naruto ignored them, stuffing his hands into his pockets, but his jaw tightened slightly. He was used to being judged, but it didn't make it any less annoying.

Just as he was about to retort, a deafening explosion rocked the street. The ground trembled, and people screamed, their faces pale with terror as they turned toward the source of the blast.

Naruto's head snapped up, his sharp blue eyes scanning the chaos. A car, mangled and smoking, was hurtling through the air, directly toward a group of terrified civilians. Time seemed to slow as the vehicle spiraled closer, its trajectory spelling certain doom for those below.

His body moved before his mind could catch up. In a blur of orange, he dashed forward, his sandals slapping against the pavement. A white mist enveloped him as a shadow clone materialized beside him, its hands already weaving the familiar hand signs. The clone's hands glowed with swirling blue chakra, the energy condensing into a perfect sphere before vanishing, leaving the completed Rasengan in Naruto's right hand.

"Rasengan!" he shouted, his voice cutting through the panic as he slammed the technique into the side of the car.

The impact was deafening, the vehicle crumpling as if it had hit an immovable wall. It veered off course, crashing to the ground just feet away from the stunned crowd. Naruto winced, shaking his right arm as a dull ache spread through it. "That thing was heavier than I thought," he muttered, gripping his elbow with his left hand.

The people behind him stared in awe, their earlier disdain replaced by sheer amazement. Those he had saved were especially wide-eyed, their mouths hanging open as they tried to process what had just happened.

Before anyone could speak, a shadow fell over the street, darkening the area. Heads turned upward, and gasps filled the air as a massive figure descended from above. At first, it appeared to be a towering giant, its form casting an imposing silhouette against the sky. But as it landed, its size shrank rapidly, revealing a woman with striking features—sharp eyes, small horns, and a confident smile.

"Well, well," she said, her voice carrying a playful tone. "I just saw what you did, kid!"

Naruto blinked, tilting his head. "And who are you?" he asked, his tone more curious than wary.

The woman pointed to herself with her thumb, her grin widening. "You might not know me since I'm pretty new, but I'm Mt. Lady. And you are, little guy?"

Naruto's eye twitched. "Little? I'm not little!" he protested, crossing his arms.

Mt. Lady chuckled. "Sorry, sorry. What's your name, then, young man?"

Naruto's blue eyes sparkled, and a bright, confident smile spread across his face. His spiky blond hair seemed to catch the sunlight as he declared, "I'm Uzumaki Naruto, and you better remember it! I'm gonna be Hokage one day!"

Mt. Lady tilted her head, her expression puzzled. "Hokage?" she repeated, then shrugged. "Anyway, some heroes are fighting a villain over there, and I need to join them. But I'd like to talk to you about something important later. Where can I find you after this?"

Naruto scratched his head, his eyes darting left and right. "I don't really belong here, so I'm kinda lost at the moment," he admitted.

Mt. Lady's eyes widened slightly, clearly confused by his words, but she quickly recovered, her smile returning. She extended her hand toward him. "Well, in that case, just make sure you don't let go of my hand."

Naruto hesitated for a moment before shaking her hand, his grip firm but cautious. "I don't really get what you're saying," he said, his tone light. "But if it were the Pervy Sage, he'd be thrilled to have a girl ask to hold his hand."

Before he could say more, Mt. Lady's smile turned mischievous, and her body began to grow, transforming back into her giant form.

Naruto's eyes widened in shock. "Hey, hey, wait a second—!" he yelled, but it was too late.

In an instant, he found himself seated on her shoulder, high above the city. The view was breathtaking—her massive hair framed her face, and the streets below looked like tiny toy models. The cars were no bigger than ants, and the people seemed like specks.

"You're lucky," Mt. Lady said, her voice booming but cheerful. "No one's ever gotten to sit in this spot before."
