Chapter 24: Competition

(The next day)

As class 1-A was preparing to head out of the classroom after school ended.

They were suddenly shaken out of their chatter as they heard someone shout.

"WHAT THE HECK!!"

Everyone turned around and saw that Ochako was surrounded by a crowd of students who had blocked the class entrance.

"Why are they blocking the exit!?" Mineta muttered nervously seeing them.

"They want to check out the competition retard!!" Yelled Bakugo as he pushed the midget out of his way.

"They wanna see the class that made contact with villains in their first year and beat them" 

He then made his way out as he stared at the crowd blocking them from leaving.

"It's pointless to try tho! So why don't you just fuck off, ya MOB's!!"

"Oi dont call people you don't know that!" Ida complained to the explosive teen who had angered a lot of the crowd, seeing as they were now hurling insults back at him.

But suddenly a calm voice rang out.

"No… he's right they are mobs" Harue said as everyone looked at him in shock.

He calmly looked at them back as he then made his way to the crowd.

"Most of y'all are probably in general education, right?" A few of them nodded back.

"Probably here to declare war on us and about how you are going to take our positions" A surprised expression made its way to their faces.

"Then go ahead and try!!" The flameing teen declared arrogantly.

"This class has survived a villain attack,something that none of you have ever experienced."

"That incident has lightened a massive drive in us, a drive that most of you don't have!!"

"So piss off with that intimidation crap and make your results do the talking. To show everyone that you truly deserve a spot here with us!!" 

"After all actions speak louder than words!" With that the tall orange teen began to push some of them away to get out.

"Yeah as Torchy said!" Bakugo replied back as he got rid of his shock that Harue actually agreed with him.

The rest of class 1-A stared at them in surprise, but soon determined expressions made their way to each of their faces.

"Mina!! Kirishima!! Come on or else we're going to miss out on our train!!" Harue called out as the crowd finally made way.

"That was soo meeaan Harue!!"

Mina caught up to him as she then complained.

"No that was MANLY!!!" Replied Kirishima who had an admiring gaze.

Harue just nodded slightly as they continued their walk.

And so the two weeks quickly came to an

End in a blink of an eye….

Currently outside UA's entrance, massive crowds had gathered.

They were waiting in line to enter for the once in a year event that was the sports festival.

"Uggh-the security check is taking forever…." Complained a woman who seemed to be a reporter judging by the microphone in her hand.

"they're being super careful this year after that villain attack that happened" Replied a man with antlers on his head who seemed to be her cameraman.

"That's why we're here!!! That controversy is sure to boost our numbers by a lot!" The woman exclaimed in happiness.

"We must take some good shots of this years main event and the first years everyone's going to be watching….."

"CLASS 1-A!!!" She shouts which causes the rest of the crowd to give her weird looks.

The camraman sighs at her antics.

[ Inside 1-A's waiting room ]

"Everyone be ready we're set to enter in no time!!!" Ida as up tight as ever warned the class.

But everyone justs ignores him as they continued to talk with one another.

Most probably to distract themselves from the nervousness that they were feeling.

'Ingenium is probably going to be attacked today by the hero killer' thought Harue in pity as he looked at Ida.

The Idea to warn him about his brother had crossed his mind a few times but he quickly shut it out.

How would he explain to others about his seemingly prophetic knowledge.

Try to bullshit and say it's a part of his quirk- yeah not happening.

He'd rather take his secret to the grave, than risk it trying to save someone he doesn't really know.

He was broken out of his thought by the pink blob of energy sitting next to him.

"Damn I really wanted to wear my costume!!" Complained Mina as she tugged at her UA gym uniform.

" ha,ha,ha! They're disallowed for a reason, as some people's costumes boost their quirks and that's unfair to the others." Chuckles Harue as he answered.

The others stare wondering how the two could be so unbothered while they were dying of nerves.

"Dai!"

But suddenly a calm voice rang out.

Harue turned to the one who called him, it was Todoroki who was staring at him with a sharp gaze.

"What's up Todoroki…?" Harue asked with a friendly smile.

"!!!?"

The class quites down as they turn to look at the two polar opposite teens.

"Objectively speaking the two of us are the strongest in this class!"

Everyone looked in shock at his arrogant but nonetheless true words.

Bakugo though, was just about to explode but held himself back as he listened.

Todoroki paused for a moment as he then declared.

"I'm going to beat you!!!"

A deafening silence rang out as the class waited for Harue's response.

"I accept your challenge" The orange haired teen replied with the smile never leaving his face.

"But I also challenge everyone here!!"

The class stares in disbelief at him.

" I came here to show the world what i can do, and I expect you all to do the same, to show them that we didn't earn our current positions by luck!!" He announced as he clenched his fist.

"So you better give your everything as I certainly will!!"

"Yeah dont take pull us out of the race already Todoroki!!" Kirishima loudly exclaimed.

"We're all here to win!!!"

"Yeah dude, I'm going to electrify everyone out there" A pumped up Kminari also declared.

The rest of the class nodded along with those two.

The half and half teen stared at them in silence, then turned his gaze towards Harue who was looking at him with a friendly face.

"Alright." Todoroki muttered lightly as he made his way back to his seat.

And so the final waiting minutes ended as the Sports festival began.

As the 1st years walked out of the entrance tunnel, they were greeted by a massive roar as the stadium cheered them on.

"Fwee~ there sure is a lot of people here" Mina whistles as she sees the audience.

"Harue, Harue!!! Look our parents are right there!" She gets excited as she saw both hers and his parents in the family section of the stadium.

Harue turned to where she was pointing and saw his mom and Mrs Ashido wavering at them.

As he and Mina wave back, Present Mic begins to announce.

"WELCOME LADIES AND GENTLEMEN TO U.A SPORTS FESTIVAL!!! WHERE YOUNG HEROS IN TRAINING-"

"AIM FOR EACH OTHER'S THROATS FOR THE TOP SPOT!!!" The loud hero pauses as the cheering crowd explodes with enthusiasm.

"AND LET ME GUESS! ALL OF YOU CAME TO SEE THIS?"

As Present Mic continued with the introduction of the classes.

The students chatted amongst themselves when the loud hero suddenly finished talking and Midnight made her way onto the stage.

"NOW NOW QUIET DOWN!!"

"hey isn't that 18+ heroine Mrs. midnight, I guess she's the representative for this year's freshman" a student commented seeing the sexy heroine.

"she's my favorite hero!!" Said Mineta with a creepy look on his face.

"Ughh-" he grunted in pain as Tsui smacked him.

"NOW FOR THE PLAYER REP!!" 

"HARUE DAI!!!" She announced as class 1-A turned to their friend.

"Harue?" Kaminari questions in astonishment.

"He's got first place in the entrance exam dummy!" Mina answers in a proud tone.

Harue made his way up the stage and thanked midnight as he then walked to the microphone admits the cheering stadium.

He could sware he could also hear a faint 'My baby' in the distance.

'Mom' he thought with a small smile as he then announced.

"Fellow students, teachers, and honored guests, welcome to the UA Sports Festival!

Today isn't just a competition. It's a chance. A chance to prove to ourselves and the world that we belong here. That no matter where we come from, no matter the obstacles we've faced, we are strong enough to stand tall. Strong enough to fight for our dreams.

Look around you. Every person here has worked relentlessly to be part of UA, and now, we get to show what we're made of! This isn't just about strength or Quirks—it's about determination, strategy, and heart. The will to keep pushing forward, even when the odds seem impossible. Because that's what it takes to be a hero.

Some of us will win, some of us will fall, but what matters is that we give it our all. That we rise after every defeat, that we learn from every mistake. Today, we don't just compete—we inspire. So go out there, fight with everything you have, and make this a festival to remember!

The crowed erupted in cheers, the air thick in anticipation as the games commence.

"All right, great speech by the player rep, onto our first event!!!"

"The 'Preliminaries' as they are called!!

With this year first round being….."
