Miracle Summoner

Chapter 1864: -1823- Let me give it to you

In that moment, the entire sterile room was filled with silence.

As Rozen stepped inside, he could feel the intense gazes from behind him, holding their breaths—uneasy, nervous, expectant, and above all, watchful, each gaze carrying its own complex emotions.

Rozen didn't need to turn around to know that Asuna must have her entire heart in her throat right now. Kikuoka Seijirou and Kurahashi were already poised to intervene, ready to respond to whatever changes might occur next.

However, Rozen ignored all this. He simply walked up to the gel bed and looked at the figure lying upon it—Yuuki.

It had to be said: three and a half years of illness, compounded by her naturally petite frame, had left Yuuki so frail that it was heart-wrenching.

She was truly the kind of girl who would inevitably evoke a deep sense of pity in anyone.

Perhaps she didn't want anyone's pity, nor did she need anyone's sympathy, but her condition was such that no one could avoid feeling this way. How could they?

In the beginning, even Rozen couldn't help but feel pity and sympathy for her. But now, he could only feel empathy.

After all...

(Now, Yuuki really reminds me of myself back then...)

Rozen couldn't help but chuckle self-deprecatingly at the thought.

That said, he no longer viewed his past as something shameful or unbearable, so he only gave a small laugh at himself without much reaction.

However, this feeling of empathy did make Rozen feel a deeper sense of connection with Yuuki.

And so...

"Are you nervous, Konno-san?" Rozen asked with a smile.

Yuuki's voice immediately followed.

"Just call me Yuuki," she replied with a smile. "At this point, I'm already used to it, so I'm not nervous."

Even though she said that, Rozen could detect that her usual cheerful and lively tone had softened, replaced by a more serious note.

Clearly, Yuuki wasn't as nonchalant as she claimed.

Maybe she wasn't overly nervous, but the anticipation and hope in her voice couldn't be hidden.

After all, Yuuki was only fifteen this year. To have persisted this far was already an incredible feat. If possible, she surely wanted to recover, to live on.

Who doesn't want to live?

Rozen thought to himself, another self-deprecating chuckle escaping his lips.

After all, when he had been merely a child and destined to die young, Rozen hadn't fought back like Yuuki. He hadn't struggled, nor clung to hope, even when reality was bleak. He had accepted his fate with calm, without a shred of regret—just a faint yearning for life and a small desire for the future.

Compared to the girl before him, he had been utterly weak.

Thus, even though Rozen was now someone who could casually determine the fates of others, even sink entire nations into the sea if he wished, when faced with this seemingly frail girl, he couldn't help but feel a sense of admiration and reverence.

This feeling flickered and passed.

But Rozen still couldn't help but say:

"Even someone like me ultimately received a miracle and survived. If someone as strong as you can't be saved, then there's no justice in this world."

Those words left Yuuki momentarily stunned, and even made Asuna, Kikuoka Seijirou, and Kurahashi confused.

But Rozen didn't care.

Because before, he might have decided to save Yuuki for Asuna's sake. Now, he was determined to save Yuuki purely from his own heart.

And so...

"Don't worry. You won't die."

"Even if you do, I'll drag you back."

"Now, let me give it to you."

"Let me give you a miracle."

With that, Rozen turned his hand, producing an item.

It was a small vial.

Inside, a luminous liquid sparkled like starlight.

"What... what is that?"

Seeing this, everyone outside the sterile room froze.

"This is..."

Even Yuuki was astonished.

Rozen merely smiled faintly.

As a Magus, Rozen wasn't limited to just using magecraft.

Just like how a curse master could craft talismans and cursed tools, or summon spirit beasts, a Magus could create familiars, craft enchanted artifacts, and even brew potions.

Rozen had crafted countless enchanted tools, talismans, and familiars in the past. Otherwise, he wouldn't have achieved the rank of Master Alchemist in Mistgun, creating various magical artifacts.

Potions, however, were something he had rarely crafted—not because he couldn't, but because he didn't often need to.

In fact, Rozen's skill in brewing potions was no less advanced than his skills in crafting tools, talismans, or familiars.

With his current knowledge and mastery, he could even create legendary elixirs of immortality—provided he had the materials. Crafting a potion to cure an illness was hardly a challenge.

So, after learning of Yuuki's situation, Rozen had begun crafting a potion to heal her.

Though this world lacked many of the magical ingredients typically used in potion-making, Rozen wasn't aiming to create an elixir of immortality. He just needed a potion to cure her disease. With his knowledge and skills, finding substitutes wasn't difficult.

Thus, Rozen purchased several medicinal herbs at exorbitant prices, summoned various phantasmal beasts through Summoning Magic, extracted their blood, skins, livers, and hearts to gather sufficient magical materials, and spent an hour crafting the potion.

The potion even contained gene-altering powders created through alchemy, utilizing not just magical knowledge but also advanced blood modulation techniques from the world of Strike the Blood. With purification runes and curse-dispelling magic infused into it, this potion was potent enough to cure a terminal illness like late-stage AIDS with a single dose.

"Here, Yuuki."

Rozen uncorked the vial and began feeding the potion to Yuuki, little by little.

"W-Wait...!"

Kurahashi finally reacted, hastily speaking up.

As Yuuki's primary physician, Kurahashi couldn't simply allow someone to feed an unknown substance to his patient.

If he had known that Rozen entered the sterile room for this, he would have insisted on analyzing and testing the potion thoroughly before permitting it to be administered to Yuuki.

That was precisely why Rozen hadn't revealed the potion beforehand, opting instead to administer it himself.

"All done."

After ensuring Yuuki drank every last drop, Rozen stepped back.

"Ah..."

A faint sound escaped Yuuki's lips.

This wasn't through the microphone—it was her actual voice.

"So warm..."

Yuuki murmured weakly.

"Quick!" Kurahashi immediately ordered, "Get the team in here for a full examination of Konno!"

And so began a whirlwind of activity within the hospital.
