"Do not spread evil words, do not deceive others, remain yourself."
"Until life ceases."
The oath was not long, and compared to the oaths taken by members of the Federal Congress upon their inauguration, it was much more relaxed. The real constraints were just two: one, do no evil; two, do not deceive. The original oath of the Songstress actually included a third clause, which was not to violate the law. However, there were simply too many laws within the Federation. Eventually, this led to some comical situations, such as a case where a Songstress was accused by some of mirroring and discriminating against a minority group in her lyrics, violating anti-discrimination laws.
Subsequently, the case went to the Supreme Court, causing a major uproar and giving the Federal judges a major headache. Henceforth, when a new Songstress was inaugurated, they simply omitted this clause, meaning that even if a Songstress broke the law, her identity as a Songstress could not be arbitrarily revoked unless there was a severe enough error to prompt the Federal Congress to propose the deprivation of her status.
Generally speaking, both officials and the public within the Federation were quite tolerant of Songstresses. To date, the number who had been stripped of their status and banned from singing were few and far between.
In addition, the phrase "remain yourself" was a suggestion added by Emuralin of "Cobalt Blue Tears." This implied that a Songstress had the freedom to speak on any occasion without her words being twisted, interrupted, or being forced to make statements.
Such political power was quite unique, preventing certain high-ranking officials from forcing Songstresses to take sides and speak out, allowing this group to maintain a degree of independence. And the final part, "Until life ceases," meant that the identity of a Songstress was for life, until her death.
This sentence was also designed with subtlety, implying that if a Songstress became a ghost after death, she would no longer have the status of a Songstress, thus preventing the exploitation of certain loopholes.
After the oath was taken, it was time for the procedural registration of her name and various other details. Thus, Tilan remained busy until four o'clock in the afternoon, when the whole process was finally completed.
Afterward, a priestess took her outside to the square to relax.
"Tilan, would you like some ice cream? I'll buy you one," said the elf-eared sister, taking her to sit down by a bench. This place was not far from the offices of the Federal Central Council, and it was a spot where many staff members liked to walk and clear their minds.
"Yes," the young girl nodded.
"Alright then, sit here for a moment, and I'll be right back," she said before heading toward the ice cream shop across the square.
Sitting on the bench, Tilan looked up at the simulated azure sky. Lifelike white clouds slowly drifted by as a gentle breeze brushed her ears. Along with the large grassy area and the garden full of golden roses, a semblance of tranquility surfaced in her heart, easing the tension she had felt earlier.
It felt like a dream... I never expected to come here, she thought, opening her eyes and observing the conspicuous and majestic golden tree nearby.
This was the location of the Central Council of the Federation, a site depicted in countless videos and broadcasts, solemn and awe-inspiring, a place many would never get to enter in their lifetimes.
As Tilan was lost in thought, the Elf Priest returned holding ice cream.
"This one is taro blueberry ice cream, and this one is strawberry green peach. Which one would Tilan like to eat?"
"I'll take the taro blueberry," said Tilan, finding the light purple and light blue cream of the ice cream familiar and comforting.
"Here you go." After handing the ice cream to Tilan, they sat on the bench together, enjoying their treat and the occasional breeze.

"By the way, Tilan, you don't know my name yet. I didn't expect to accompany you for so long because the attending priestess is supposed to change randomly, for your safety," she explained as she brushed her bangs from her forehead.
"But unexpectedly, it turned out to be me who stayed in the end," she continued, smiling as she adjusted the fringe in front of her forehead.
"My name is Acacia, I'm a half-Elf with about 70% Elf Bloodline." She had the distinctive golden hair of the Elves, pale pink eyes, and the Priestly Robe she wore accentuated her curvaceous figure, giving her the charm of a mature elder sister.
"Currently, I am a subordinate priestess at the Golden Flame Grand Cathedral, and in about five more years, I will be transferred to serve as a full-fledged priestess in other Star Domains. By then, I can travel around and occasionally go on trips."
...
"Did Tilan ask how I like working here? Actually, it's quite nice. Though there aren't many recreational activities, watching movies, playing online games, and such are allowed. Occasionally, I'd spar with friends a few times too, and my combat ability isn't bad I must say, I'm at least mid-tier Sequence 6 and also a graduate from a prestigious school."
...
"The ice cream shop here? Yes, it's also run by the government, and the person selling ice cream is my school senior, ahaha."
"She studied journalism in the academy. After passing the entrance examination for a government job, she was assigned to the Floral Crown Star Domain. She was thrilled at first, but then found the job monotonous because it involved endless recording and organizing, then publishing in the standard format of the Federal Government."
"It's important but without much variation. She says even a high school student could do her job and doesn't feel any sense of worth, though her colleagues truly are graduates from prestigious schools."
"Anyway, after dealing with the dilemma for a while, she applied for a transfer to the logistics department, and now she's happily selling us ice cream, claiming that making ice cream is far more comfortable than being a humanoid code-entering Songstress."
"Tilan, as a Songstress, you can freely enter and exit the Floral Crown Star Domain without the strict measures imposed on us. Oh right, this is your first time in the Central Star Domain, right? Since it's close by, you could visit the nearby Flying Feather Star Domain or Twin Trees Star Domain, which are the most bustling worlds in the entire Federation."
"You don't have to worry about travel safety either; just let us know afterwards and the High Priest can arrange for security personnel to escort you. Moreover, the various expenses for this trip to the Central Star Domain can be reimbursed, so there's no need to worry about money shortages."
"But, do Songstresses really lack money? I think as long as Tilan is willing to take on a simple advertisement, she could get quite a sponsorship fee. I've never seen a Songstress in financial distress."
...
"Sigh, not willing to take ads for the time being? That's some strong determination, Little Tilan. If that's the case, fill out the reimbursement form properly, I'll send it to you later."
"Rest well tonight, and you will be able to leave tomorrow."
"The identification confirmation for the Songstress has already been completed. It should be announced on the official federal website after about a week's time."
...
"Are you worried about being recognized and it affecting your daily life?"
"That can be easily handled, actually. You can apply to have your face blurred in the recordings, so with a little disguise, no one will recognize you at a glance."
"However, Tilan looks really stunning in a long dress, covered with a golden veil, and holding a Rose. At that moment, several priests were so distracted that they chanted a few beats slower, but you didn't notice it, haha."
...
"Alright, let's call it a day. I'll take you to your accommodations now. Your identity chip should have access to most areas around here by now."
"Don't worry about safety, any random auntie out for a walk here could be a Sequence 6 expert. This is the Floral Crown Star Domain, the very core of the Federation; every staff member who enters has at least a clean Sequence 5 background."
"Get some good rest; you had a tiring day today, Little Tilan."
