Chapter 6: CHAPTER SIX
Lyra's life at Snow Fall Fashion had become a boring routine. She struggled to interact with her coworkers, and her secret as a Moon Whisperer weighed heavily on her mind because she had lied to them that she was from Raven wood clan.
She'd wake up, grab a coffee, and move down to the store. Eight hours of attending to customers and arranging wardrobes meetings . She felt like a robot, going through the motions and following orders. Her creativity stunned, her soul was draining from her. The clock moved slowly each day as Lyra longed for excitement, for purpose, but it seemed to be far from her.
The arrival of Rachel, a young lady from Iron Fang's clan, changed Lyra's routine. She was vibrant and affectionate. Rachel's infectious smile and associative energy drew Lyra close. They bonded and spent Time over lunch breaks and coffee runs, sharing stories and dreams. Lyra found herself opening up and rediscovering her passion for fashion creativity. Rachel encouraged her to take her interests seriously, and soon Lyra's creativity flourished.
Rachel was so petite , with her long, curly brown hair and bright eyes made her stand out in the store.
As they talked more, Lyra discovered that the Omega clan were known for their empathetic and nurturing nature. Rachel's open mindedness and kindness made Lyra feel comfortable sharing her own struggles and fears.
On Lyra's 18th birthday she looked stunning. She had grown into a beautiful young woman. Her long, dark hair fell down her back like a Niagra fall, and her piercing blue eyes sparkled. She had finally found a sense of style, often wearing trending outfits that accentuated her slender curves.
Rachel admired Lyra's unique sense of fashion and encouraged her to express herself. "You have such a great sense of style, you look beautiful baby, you're a killer!"
"Thanks Rachel, yunno I'm tryna flow along, remember you once told me to loosen up...so here I am.."
Lyra's birthday was not really a loud one as she had just one friend, it was an intimate celebration with Rachel by her side. They sat together in the cozy showroom, surrounded by the soft music of Ed Sheeran. Rachel presented Lyra with a beautiful, handcrafted card, small and colorful
As they sipped their prune juice, Rachel shared stories of her boyfriend, Mike, and his kind heart and how he treated her special on her birthdays. Lyra listened, her eyes gleaming with curiosity. Rachel's words made Lyra's heart crave for something similar.
Rachel noticed Lyra's wistful expression and reached out, her hand gently rubbing on Lyra's soft Palm. "You deserve someone who loves you deeply, Lyra," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "Don't settle for anything less babe , go for gold."
In that moment, Lyra felt a deep connection with Rachel, a sense of understanding and empathy coming from her words . They sat together in comfortable silence, the only the bass the song "shape of you" receded from the speaker.Lyra knew she had found a true friend, one who saw her and cherished her.
Their conversations flowed effortlessly, ranging from fashion and music to their personal struggles and dreams. Lyra found herself opening up to Rachel in ways she never thought possible.
Later that day,Rachel asked Lyra about her family. Lyra hesitated, unsure what to reveal. But Rachel's empathetic nature put her at ease. "I lost my parents in the great purge," Lyra said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Rachel's eyes widened in shock and surprise. "I'm so sorry, Lyra. I had no idea. You're so strong to have gone through that all alone."
...Lyra smiled weakly. "I'm just trying to survive, Rachel. But thanks for being here for me. Let's get to work, we're behind schedule." She turned to leave, but Rachel's gentle grasp on her arm halted her.
"Lyra, wait," Rachel said, her voice laced with concern. "I need to ask you something. Only Moon Whisperers and Ember Moon clan died during the great purge, how come your Raven wood parents died?"
Lyra's heart skipped a beat. What did Rachel think of that? Then Rachel came close looking at her neck. The moon whisperers had some scars on the right side of their neck like a shimmering crescent moon
"Just a tattoo," Lyra replied hastily, trying to brush it off.
But Rachel's piercing gaze indicated she wasn't buying it. "No, Lyra, it's more than that. I've seen this symbol before...in the ancient texts of the Omega clan."
I'm
Lyra's eyes widened as Rachel's words flowed in the air, heavy with implication.
Suddenly, the store's light flashed, and silence fell over the room.
"Rachel, what do you mean?" Lyra asked, her voice barely above Whispers
Rachel's eyes looked into Lyra's, filled with a mix of curiosity
And then, just as Rachel was about to speak
"Lyra and Rachel, we have a problem," a coworker called out, urgency showing on her face. " The supervisor wants to see everyone"
Lyra's heart sank. As she thought her secret was exposed.
