Mountain, I Bought It – Living in Another World Isn’t Bad Either

Chapter 33

Chapter 33. Reaching the Water Source

As soon as I introduced the lawn mower, the grass clearing progressed rapidly. Electric power is truly something. The power and speed are a godsend. I managed to carve a path near the spring, though it still took about four days.

The width is just enough for a compact car to pass, I think.

“…Carrying a 10-liter water tank by hand is impossible, right?”

On foot, it would take around 20 minutes. From here, the campsite is hidden behind the grass.

I originally hoped to drive back and forth, but if I can’t make a U-turn, I’d have to reverse—and my driving skills aren’t exactly great. Maybe I just need more practice.

Wiping my sweat, I survey the area.

This path slopes upward on the right, with exposed rocks scattered along the hillside. The spring seems to be up there. Meanwhile, the left side is densely wooded but appears to slope gently downward.

“Haah… I’ll think about the car later.”

Thanks to the sheer amount of grass I cut, my KP had accumulated more than I expected.

So, I chose to upgrade my Storage space by one rank. After all, I still hadn’t gathered the materials to build a log house. The new capacity is 3 cubic meters—a modest size, but enough to store fairly large items.

With some KP left, I decided to use Hirogeru-kun’s function.

At first, I considered using the large stones—or rather, boulders—on the slope to make stone steps. But I worried that storing them might destabilize the hillside.

“This otherworld is amazing.”

Holding the tablet, I watch in awe as a slightly deep, pebble-mixed earthen staircase forms.

I stored the surface layer of the cleared path and repurposed the dirt.

It took three days after finishing the grass clearing to reach the water source. Managing this in about a week is thanks to this world’s specs.

“So it’s seeping from a crack in the rock…”

Drops of water trickle sporadically from the edge of the rock.

The bowl-like depression in the stone was likely worn down over years of dripping water.

The overflowing water seems to seep back into the ground, perhaps becoming part of the mountain’s groundwater. Maybe it even resurfaces at the foothills, forming a stream.

Imagining such a scene, I head back to the campsite to fetch the water tank.

Around the spring, several bluish orbs of light flitted about.

[Hey, hey, is that the Saintess?]

[That’s right!]

A pale orb replied energetically.

[Lucky, lucky! That sweet scent…]

[Isn’t it nice? Over there, we can stay together forever!]

[But there’s no water source there, right?]

[Hmm… then maybe we could make water appear there too?]

[I see! Gramps, can we go check it out?]

[I must guard this place… but go, as long as you don’t cause trouble.]

A particularly large blue orb answered in an old man’s raspy voice.

[No problem~]

[So happy~]

The cheerful voices of the spirits echoed through the mountains.

[…What was that?]

It was inevitable that something slumbering deep within the mountains would take notice.
