Chapter 438: [436] Reaper
"Ahhh!!!"
Beatrice let out a piercing scream as she writhed in agony on the floor.
Darkness engulfed her being, merging with her essence, while August's power surged through her, enhancing her strength. Simultaneously, the Curse of Wrath seeped into her very soul.
[Commandment of Wrath: All who harbor anger shall be stripped of reason and consumed by chaos and extremity.]
The Commandment of Wrath was an immensely powerful curse. Anyone who felt anger would lose their rationality and spiral into uncontrollable turmoil.
This ability was utterly terrifying. In any situation, calmness and rationality were paramount, yet before the Commandment of Wrath, the mere presence of anger spelled one's downfall.
Before long, the torment subsided, and Beatrice emerged reborn.
Once an ordinary vampire, she had now undergone an unprecedented transformation, her strength skyrocketing at an astronomical rate.
Even without exaggeration, she now possessed the confidence to challenge the elders of the old-generation vampires. The power coursing through her veins was simply overwhelming.
And with the Commandment of Wrath in her arsenal, she had gained an ability that could only be described as game-breaking.
"Master!"
As she rose to her feet, Beatrice's gaze toward August had changed.
Previously, she had submitted to him out of fear of his overwhelming power and wealth. But now, under the influence of the commandment, her loyalty had taken root deep within her heart.
And this was merely the beginning. As time passed, she would become utterly devoted to August.
"How do you feel?" August asked.
"I feel incredible. My strength has multiplied countless times beyond what I was before."
"Good. Go and rest for now. I will call for you when needed."
"Yes, Master."
With a respectful bow, Beatrice left the room, and August let out a deep breath.
With his familiar now bound by contract and the alternate dimension for its survival secured, his objectives had been successfully achieved.
Stretching his arms, August decided to call it a night. After all, it was already quite late.
...
The next morning, life resumed as usual. At the break of dawn, Natsuki and Yukina left for school, one heading to class and the other to work.
August, on the other hand, as someone with a more leisurely schedule, had no plans to accompany them to Saikai Academy. After contracting his familiar last night, today was the perfect opportunity to summon and witness its full potential.
After informing Natsuki, August swiftly left Itogami Island and arrived at the coastal waters.
"Come forth, my contracted familiar—Super-Conceptual Reaper!"
Boom—
A surge of chaotic magic erupted. Above the ocean, a figure clad in white robes, carrying an enormous cross, materialized.
During the contract process, August couldn't help but smile. A familiar's form was influenced by the host's will, yet he had never imagined that he would summon something resembling the ultimate villain from Cautious Hero.
The Super-Conceptual Reaper, also known as the Chaos Reaper, possessed immeasurable attributes. It was an entity of complete chaos, almost as if it did not truly exist—invincible, undying, and beyond conventional definitions of mortality.
Its core essence was chaos itself, effortlessly breaking the constraints of time and space, even tearing through dimensional barriers. Lacking a soul, it transcended all existence, standing as a true deity.
It could split and recombine endlessly, wield nearly all elemental abilities, and traverse dimensions, harvesting souls across different realms. Through sacrificial rituals, its focus could be temporarily concentrated on a target, making it nearly impossible to counter.
Although this creature wasn't exactly the game-breaking monster from Cautious Hero, it was undeniably a top-tier familiar.
Whether it ranked at the True Ancestor level remained uncertain. Previous skirmishes with the Lion King's Golden Familiar had only provided glimpses, but no conclusive measure of the Fourth Progenitor's true strength.
Nevertheless, the Super-Conceptual Reaper possessed abilities that defied logic—immortality, mastery over all magic attributes, and spatial traversal—making it an extraordinary force.
August felt satisfied. This creature was born from his thoughts, shaped into existence by his desires.
It was only logical, considering familiars were cursed beasts, manifestations of negative energy, and it was only through the host's contract that they gained form.
Summoning such a being required August to continuously supply life force and magic.
Yet this posed no issue. Despite being from the Demon God lineage, August had long surpassed that classification, especially after merging with the Four Deadly Sins. His life force was nearly infinite.
Any energy drained by the familiar could easily be replenished by absorbing a fraction of sin.
"Super-Conceptual Reaper, freeze this sea."
Swish—
At August's command, the Reaper moved, raising its massive cross.
From its tip, an intense burst of frost magic was unleashed, colliding with the ocean surface. Within minutes, the surrounding waters were encased in ice.
"Super-Conceptual Reaper, fire."
Boom—
A torrent of flames shot forth, instantly melting the frozen sea.
August watched in satisfaction. This was only a fraction of its power. As a being of chaos, the Reaper could wield all elements—fire, ice, lightning, wind, earth, water, light, and more.
It was the ultimate mage, proficient in all attributes to a terrifying degree.
"Super-Conceptual Reaper, let's return to Itogami Island."
Rip—
Under August's gaze, the Reaper raised its cross and slashed downward.
With a tearing sound, the space before them was ripped apart, forming a rift. It was a chilling sight; this spatial ability was far beyond ordinary teleportation.
Stepping through, August found himself high above Itogami Island. Despite the dramatic entrance, it was undeniably effective, transporting him from the open sea directly to the island.
However, due to the Reaper's inability to precisely locate destinations, he had arrived at a random part of the island rather than Saikai Academy.
Gazing at the towering skyscrapers and the magnetic levitation trains speeding by, August sighed and dismissed the Reaper.
Satisfied with his familiar, he began observing his surroundings. Although he wasn't sure exactly where he was, with the maglev trains available, getting back to the academy would be no trouble at all.
