Chapter 219: Big Spar II
Big Spar II
'Here they come.' Christopher hummed.
Immediately, he felt his link to fate become blurry, and his ability to anticipate events in the future was suddenly restricted. Not enough to leave him totally blind, but it was notable.
His eyes sharpened and he held his weapons up and braced himself. As soon as he did so, a blue light smashed into him, but he didn't move an inch.
The blue light faded to reveal Pruina who held a spear in his hands.
"This should be fun." The Paragon smirked and Christopher just snorted.
Their bodies vanished, and what followed was a torrent of clashes that occurred in the span of a moment.
However, it didn't take long before Christopher started pushing Pruina back.
With raw physical stats alone, Pruina was struggling to match Christopher, and he was resisting with pure skill. Even then, he was quickly falling into a disadvantage.
However. He kept his cool and continued to move, his spear moving in ways that defied reason as he countered Christopher's attacks. He was holding out, for now.
Things continued this way for a while until Christopher decided to use his Annihilation Insight.
He didn't do anything too drastic and simply searched for a weakness in Pruina's combat style which he found quickly.
Without hesitation, he struck at the spot and Pruina was unable to defend. But suddenly, a shield appeared between Pruina and Christopher. The impact was disastrous, yet the shield somehow absorbed all the shock and sustained no lasting damage.
'Oh?' Christopher hummed as he saw Azure looking at him from beneath her helmet.
The force that was absorbed was suddenly ejected and Christopher slid back a few meters.
Before he could properly regain his footing, he felt a presence behind him and the chain wrapped around his arm unwrapped itself and shot backwards followed by a metallic impact.
However, a portal opened in front of him and Constella came through with her fist extending towards his face.
Christopher simply swung Norn upward and defected the punch. He prepared to counter, but a thick black and white beam engulfed him and gave Silver and Constella ample time to retreat.
When the beam subsided, Christopher canceled the Void barrier he'd used to defend himself and spun to block a stab from Pruina. Before he could counter, though, the spear was suddenly engulfed in an icy mist that took the shape of wings.
The force behind it suddenly surged and Christopher frowned slightly as he was forced a few steps.
That's when his acute senses felt a surge of energy at his back and he turned his head slightly to see Vazar with his bow pulled back. Corruption created an incredibly dense arrow and magic circles formed in front of the bow as he prepared to release the string.
Christopher huffed and he shifted his body slightly and made Pruina accidentally step forward.
He clenched the fist that was holding Norn and punched Pruina in the solar plexus. The Paragon grunted as he was sent flying.
Christopher then turned just in time to see Vazar let the arrow fly. It passed through the magic circles and just like last time, it turned into an exquisite but terrifying lance that flew at him at absurd speeds.
He pointed the tip of Scarlet at the incoming attack and channeled Annihilation energy before firing it as a beam.
The beam and lance clashed, and immediately after, the lance shattered as the beam continued unimpeded.
Vazar was startled, but before he got hit, the floor beneath him ripped like water and he was pulled in just before he got hit.
A silver and icy blue light shone and surged toward Christopher's sides. Right before they hit him, beheld his weapons to the side and blocked the two attacks.
The lights faded to reveal Silver and Lenax who were struggling to push past his defenses.
Constella suddenly appeared through a portal once more and her arms blurred before countless massive fists made of stars shot toward Christopher.
Christopher narrowed his eyes as he sensed Silver and Lenax starting to move away. Like a flip was switched, his perception of time suddenly slowed down dramatically, and everything around him started moving slowly.
'They are all still just probing. No one has used any powerful attacks so far. Pruina hasn't used any magic so far, and Kim, Jenny, Belladonna, and Thanatos haven't participated in any way so far. I'm assuming Aisha is moving behind the scenes and coordinating everything. This all seems like an elaborate scheme to make me drop my guard so that they can catch me off guard, and Aisha probably knows I've noticed.' Christopher hummed. Saying he's been holding back so far was simply a gross understatement.
Even without using any complex magic, his Physique made him incredibly resistant to all attacks. Not to mention, his control over fate surpassed Aisha by a large margin. He could regain control over it at a thought. But he wasn't doing so yet.
Still.
'This is getting dull.' Suddenly, as if unrestricted by the world around him, Christopher moved at unbelievable speeds.
Red lines appeared on all the fists Constella sent at him, and smaller lines appeared on her arms.
X-shaped lines appeared on the chests of Lenax and Silver, but Christopher wasn't done.
He was like a phantom. Suddenly, he was near, Vazar who had been getting ready to let loose another arrow and Scarlet blurred, causing a line to appear on each of his armpits.
It was only when he started moving toward the twins that another equally fast entity finally moved in and blocked his path.
Kim stared at him with a wary gaze and Christopher smiled.
"I assumed you were meant to find an opportunity to hit me while I wasn't expecting it," Christopher asked.
"Nya. You kinda ruined that." She said calmly, but her tense tail said otherwise.
Christopher just smiled wider, but it was obscured by his mask.
"Okay, I'll tone it down a tiny bit." As he said that, he left the strange speedy state and everything was silent for a moment before his actions finally caught up with the rest.
Constella's large attack was deleted in an instant and blood spurted from her arms as numerous cuts appeared on them. Meanwhile, Lenax and Silver were thrown back like ragdolls as blood sprayed from the chests.
Vazar hissed as blood sprayed from his armpits and his arms hung limply.
Belladonna caught up to Kim and looked at the aftermath of Christopher's actions, her face grimacing slightly.
"Master, that's so mean~." She said with a pouty expression and Christopher saw as she activated her charm to the max. He was startled for a brief moment, one Pruina took complete advantage of as Prism transported him to Christopher's side and he swung his spear like a staff, spinning saws of ice moving across its surface as they aimed to bite into his side.
At the last moment, though, Christopher teleported away and Pruina hit nothing.
Christopher tilted his head slightly and watched them. Then he said frankly.
"If y'all don't step up your game then I'm ending this in the next few seconds." His tone was light but the intentions weren't.
Everyone narrowed their eyes at his words.
'He's not bluffing. No more playing around.' Aisha's voice resounded in their minds and any hesitation they might have had before was completely wiped.
Lenax unleashed a powerful roar as his body grew to its full size. His scales took on a deeper hue of blue as he removed whatever limit he'd placed on his strength before, causing his Aura to surge.
Silver growled and his body morphed into a massive white wolf. With a powerful howl, three constructs appeared in the sky. A Full moon, a Blood Moon, and an Eclipse.
The appearance of these three celestial bodies brought with them an effect. The Blood Moon acted to increase the durability and regeneration of all allies, the full moon I creased their combat strength, and the eclipse served to weaken Christopher.
The twins also assumed their true forms and shared their attributes, light, and darkness intertwining to become several times more powerful
Belladonna activated her Royal Exclusive Skill and her Aura spiked as well. But that wasn't all as she summoned a tsunami of blood that suddenly condensed and became a small bit of blood that flowed around Belladonna, yet the Aura it gave off was chilling.
Kim transformed as well, her body morphing into that of an agile panther with two tails.
Some distance away, Thanatos sat on his throne and countless undead were summoned, each of them carrying horrific auras, but the most terrifying one was a titanic skeleton that was taller than the earth's atmosphere. The skeleton's appearance was just eerie. Its bones were black and covered in runes like the rest. But it had three pairs of arms. Two on the front and two slightly angled at the back. Each hand was together as if in a prayer. Moreover, there was a skull dedicated to each pair of hands, and above the heads was a large black and purple halo. The skeleton didn't have legs but instead, massive bones spiraled upwards until its torso was reached.
The Scions also assumed the forms they used when they were pushed to the brink before. But not only could they use these forms freely. They were also significantly more powerful than before.
Then there was Pruina who simply touched his head and a crown made of ice appeared.
Christopher didn't move once through all of this, and when he saw they were done, he smiled.
'This should be fun.'
