Chapter 22: Invasion
Kade snapped out of his daze, his cheeks burning as if he'd just taken a Super Saiyan punch to the face. "Sorry," he mumbled, turning back to Aria. "It's just that... earlier today I had to destroy this planet but one of the last living people on it told me that white haired beasts caused all the destruction on the planet and sense it's nearby I was wondering if you knew anything about that."
Vala's eyes lit up with interest, her mood shifting from embarrassed to intrigued in an instant.
"Ah, the White-Hair Clan," she said, her tone a mix of awe and concern. "They're not just any Saiyans, Kade. They're ancient beings with a legacy of chaos and destruction that predates even the first super saiyan, Their power is said to be unrivaled, their cunning unmatched."
Her breasts swayed slightly as she leaned closer to him, the gravity of the situation seemingly forgotten. "But I'm more of a fighter than a scholar,. If you want the juicy details, you'll have to ask Aria or Risha. They're the history nerds around here."
Kade couldn't help but chuckle, the tension dissipating like mist in the morning sun. "Alright, I'll keep that in mind. But tell me, Vala, what do you know about them?"
Vala's gaze grew serious as she leaned against the rocky plateau's edge. "Their leader is Radak," she began, her voice low and solemn. "He's tall, with silver hair that defies the typical Saiyan norms. And his eyes..." she shivered, "piercing red. He's got this wild vibe about him, like he's one battle away from tearing the universe apart."
Kade's expression grew thoughtful, his eyes narrowing. "So he's the guy who wants to turn Sarada into a gladiator's playground?"
"Worse," Vala said, her voice grim. "He wants to strip away our society's structure, leave us all to fight for survival. No rules, no mercy. Just a never-ending warrior's festival."
Her laughter echoed through the air, but it held a bitter note. "Yeah, I know Radak all too well. He's the reason I'm training to be a royal guard. He killed my parents when I was young."
Kade's smile faltered. "What? Vala, I'm so sorry. I had no idea."
She waved his concern away, her eyes flashing with determination. "Don't worry about it. It's why I'm here. It's why I fight."
The air grew tense as the gravity of her words settled between them. Above, the stars twinkled indifferently, as if the fate of entire worlds didn't rest on their shoulders.
"But that's enough about me," Vala said, slapping Kade's arm with surprising force. "Let's get back to the fun stuff. You're getting pretty strong, but you still have a ways to go before you can take on someone like Radak. I've seen his power, and trust me, it's not pretty."
Kade's grin returned, fueled by the challenge. "Well, I'm up for it. What do you say, Aria? Ready to help me train to be the universe's top god?"
Aria's smirk grew wider. "Always."
With a flash of speed, they shot into the sky, leaving the bustling city behind. The wind rushed past them as they flew, the air growing cooler and cleaner the higher they climbed. They streaked across the planet, the scenery morphing from urban sprawl to lush forests to towering mountain ranges. Finally, they descended into a serene canyon, surrounded by walls of rock that stretched up into the heavens. The only sounds were the distant calls of wildlife and the gentle whisper of the wind.
"Alright," Kade declared, his eyes gleaming with excitement. "Let's do this."
"Mortals shouldn't stand a chance against gods," he mused, cracking his knuckles. "It's like a fly trying to swat a dragon."
Aria rolled her eyes, her white hair fluttering. "Don't be so arrogant, Kade," she chided. "Mortals can be surprisingly resourceful. Remember, even the strongest gods can be brought down."
"But Aria, I'm the God of Destruction," Kade said with a smug grin. "I can erase planets with a flick of my wrist. What can a mere mortal do to me?"
Aria's smile remained, but her eyes grew serious. "Mortals may not have godly power that we do, but they have something more unpredictable—determination. They fight for what they believe in, with nothing to lose and everything to gain. And sometimes, that's more powerful than any Hakai you could throw at them."
Kade chuckled, his muscles flexing as he thought back on his past battles. "You're right," he admitted. "I've been holding back, turning every fight into a game. It's like playing chess with someone who's just learned checkers."
"But what if they start playing with explosives?" Aria asked, raising an eyebrow.
Kade paused, his smirk fading. "I guess I'd have to get serious," he admitted, his gaze drifting to the horizon. "But until then, I'll keep it entertaining."
"Entertainment is all well and good," Aria said, her golden eyes reflecting the setting suns. "But remember, Kade, with great power comes great responsibility. The fate of worlds rests in your hands, not just the outcome of a spar."
"Don't quote Spider-Man at me, Aria," Kade groaned, a hint of playfulness in his voice. "I've got enough to juggle with being a college student turned god."
Before Aria could respond, a sudden tremor shook the ground beneath them. Their eyes met, and they both knew what it meant. The air grew thick with a mournful symphony of dying energies, a disturbing contrast to the tranquil landscape.
"Kade," Aria said gravely, "we're needed in the city."
They shot into the sky, their forms streaks of light and color against the darkening backdrop. As they approached the city, the scale of the destruction became apparent. The once-thriving metropolis lay in ruins, its skyscrapers crumbling like sand castles before a tide of dark ki. The air was thick with the acrid stench of obliterated life, a stark reminder of the gravity of their roles.
They touched down in the epicenter of the chaos, the ground crackling beneath their feet. Kade's eyes narrowed as he took in the scene before them—a horde of Saiyan warriors lay scattered, unconscious or worse, their once-proud armor marred and broken. Rising from the wreckage was a single figure, slender and lethal. Her long, black hair fluttered in the breeze of her own making, her fierce yellow eyes locked on the newcomers.
"Zira," Aria whispered, her voice tight with tension.
Kade squared his jaw, his eyes scanning the destruction. "You know her?"
Aria nodded gravely. "Zira, she's Radak's second-in-command. A fierce warrior with a twisted vendetta against Saiyans."
They descended into the chaos, their arrival like a thunderclap in the stillness that had followed Zira's last attack. The city lay in ruins, fires crackling in the rubble, the air thick with the stench of burnt metal and scorched earth. Among the wreckage, Saiyan warriors picked themselves up, their expressions a mix of anger and fear.
