My Favorite Has Started A Live Broadcast!

Chapter 70

“Ah.”

Upon hearing Eunah unnie’s announcement, I just looked at her without saying anything. Noticing my lack of reaction, she seemed a bit taken aback, walking around and calling out to me in various ways. She tapped my shoulder a few times and even waved her hands in front of me to get my attention.

“Oh, you finally reacted. Anyway, it’s already posted, so just give up.”

“Sigh…”

“You’re the one who gave me access to your NewTube account. Now, if you’re not mad, take a seat. We’ve got a lot to talk about.”

After patting my shoulder a few more times, Eunah unnie sat at one corner of the table, and I sighed, swallowing my irritation, as I sat across from her. As I settled down, I felt something soft against my feet—Strawberry, rubbing her body against my leg. I bent over to pick her up, but in the process, I smacked the back of my head on the table edge. Wiping away the tears welling up from the pain, I glared at Eunah unnie.

“Hey, have you ever watched your own NewTube channel?”

“…No…”

“And what are the views like?”

“How should I know… Ideally, no one would watch it.”

“About 2 million. You’ve posted, what, two or three videos so far, and people are watching like crazy.”

Two million? Normally, a view count of two million wouldn’t feel real. Chocoa’s cover song video has about 35,000 views, with 15,000 of those likely from me. That’s about 50 times more. It was a huge number, but given the immense amount I’d received on my birthday, it felt slightly more believable now. Yet, I still didn’t get it.

“…Why…?”

“Because it’s you.”

“Huh?”

Eunah unnie sighed at my puzzled tone and, pulling her leg up onto the chair, held out her phone to me.

“Look. Say there’s this really pretty girl. She has an amazing voice, and she’s unbearably cute.”

“…?”

“…Alright, let’s say it’s Chocoa.”

“Alright.”

At first, Eunah unnie’s example didn’t make sense, but as soon as she mentioned Chocoa, it all clicked.

“Chocoa drinks. And then… um, let’s say she calls you during her stream.”

“Whoa… Why?”

“…Anyway, she calls you and starts flirting, suggesting a date, asking you to hang out, complimenting herself, boasting about her family—just really laying it on thick.”

“Chocoa would…”

Imagining Chocoa asking me out on a date made my face turn a little red.

“Now, say that video disappears in a few days. Just when you’re feeling sad about it, that video pops up on NewTube, perfectly edited. Would you watch it?”

“Of course!”

“…Right, that’s kind of how it is. This particular video has 150,000 views, and it’s only been up for 20 minutes.”

“Is that… really a thing?”

“High view counts mean more visibility for you, too. People who only watch NewTube might discover you, or those who know you but missed the live stream can catch up. Or, people searching for your clips or videos might stumble upon it. Anyway, it’s another way for you to make money, and you’ll gain more viewers.”

“More than now?”

The average number of viewers on my live streams was already over 2,000, closing in on 3,000.

“Hey, it could go up endlessly. With the right conditions, some popular international streamers have tens of thousands of viewers.”

“Wow…”

“So, do you have any ideas for NewTube content? It’s almost streaming time.”

“…I’m not going live today.”

If I went live today, a suspiciously wealthy person would undoubtedly flood me with dozens of video donations just to mess with me. I could disable video donations, but that would be a waste of money. I’d reasoned it out that, after big events, it was a kind of self-promise to skip streaming for a day.

“Oh, well~ Whether it’s today or tomorrow, what’s the difference?”

“But still…”

“So, nothing NewTube-worthy? Even something small would be fine as a simple vlog.”

“Well… there is one thing…”

“What is it?”

“Minyoung has midterms coming up soon.”

She said something small, so I figured this would qualify.

“…That’s it?”

“And after that, it’s her birthday, so I’m planning to cook. It’s the one thing I’m actually decent at…”

With more free time recently, I was able to delve into cooking, something that had always interested me. I wasn’t attending any formal classes, but after finishing my streams, chores, and playing with Strawberry, I’d use the remaining time to learn various recipes on NewTube.

…Would this be housewife training? Or bridal training? Just cooking?

The strange thoughts that echoed in my mind were quickly dismissed as I looked up at Eunah unnie, who was getting out of her chair.

“Just let me know when that day comes. I’ll need to buy a good camera… Oh, by the way, it’s not Aro’s fault. He’s probably asleep, so don’t bother calling to wake him.”

“Alright… Take care.”

I waved to her, holding Strawberry in my arms, as she walked to the door.

“Hm? Hey, wait a sec.”

Just as she was about to leave, Eunah unnie suddenly approached me and grabbed my wrist. Strawberry, startled, slipped out of my arms and scampered back into the room.

“So… are you finally dating your senior?”

“What? Dating? Who’s the senior…?”

“Oh… Is it… Chocoa?”

“This is… just something my little sister gave me as a birthday present…”

“Ehh, what a shame. Alright, I’m off.”

With a mix of disappointment and understanding on her face, Eunah unnie left through the door.

After the small whirlwind had passed, I went into the room to look for Strawberry.

“Meow.”

Strawberry was using her impressive skills to grab the edge of the neatly folded blanket, pulling it down as she jumped. Before the blanket fully hit the floor, she used her light weight and cat-like agility to land gracefully on top of it on the bed.

“…Strawberry, come here.”

When I tapped my lap and called her, she meowed softly and came over to sit. Petting her, I checked the time—it was around 10.

“By now, it should be open… Strawberry, let’s go out for the first time in a while.”

First, I decided to hang out the blankets and pillow that had been sitting in the washing machine all day.

After a long struggle with the water-soaked seasonal blanket and pillow, I finally managed to get them all hung up. Changing into something comfortable, I took Strawberry and left the house. My little sister, still asleep, didn’t respond even when I knocked on his door.

“Let’s go~”

Strawberry was a bit heavier than when I first got her, but she was still light enough for me to carry easily. I held her close as we headed to the pet store.

“Hello.”

“Welcome!”

Entering the pet store this time, the employee from before greeted me warmly.

“Oh! It’s been a while! The little one has grown quite a bit, too.”

The employee had been organizing items but immediately approached and looked at Strawberry with delight. They told me it was fine to let her explore freely, but she clung to me, wary of the new person. The employee, sensing her shyness, stepped back.

“She’s still a bit shy, so maybe it’s best to hold onto her. What brings you in today?”

“Um… it seems like Strawberry has trouble jumping onto the bed. She’s still young, and I heard her breed might have shorter legs… Also, we’re almost out of food.”

Strawberry had a voracious appetite. Animals don’t eat three meals a day like humans, so I filled her bowl in the morning, and she’d snack on it throughout the day. When she grew older, feeding her twice a day, morning and night, was fine, according to the vet.

“In that case… many people use ramps. We have square platforms and diagonal ramps that make it easier for kittens to climb up. Some even have a scratch pad on top, so she can scratch her nails when they get longer.”

“Oh… I’ll go with the diagonal one. The height should be around 40 cm.”

“Yes, we have those in stock! Would you like a cat tower? It’s always nice to have one, but if she can’t climb yet, it’s not necessary. How high can she jump?”

“She can get up to my knees… Every time I come home, she runs up and jumps on me… haha…”

“In that case, a small cat tower would work! Cats feel safest when they’re higher up. That might be why she’s trying to get on the bed.”

“Oh… I see… And what’s a good type of food?”

Crossing things off my mental shopping list, I continued browsing.

“Huh? You’re awake?”

Thanks to the convenience of delivery, I returned home without a hitch and found my little sister lying in bed. She hadn’t been asleep, as the curtains were still drawn, and her eyes were open.

“Yeah, I’m hungry.”

“Got it. There’s a delivery coming soon, so get it when it arrives. You’re probably stronger than me right now.”

“Sure. Where’d you go? Shopping?”

“Just bought some things Strawberry needed.”

“Meow.”

“Strawberry, go play with her.”

“Hehe.”

Handing Strawberry over to her, I put on my apron.

“Not calling the unnie from upstairs?”

“…Not today.”

It was my small way of holding a grudge.
