Chapter 73
– ????
– “Noona, that’s not it! Stop!”
– “No, but she might actually have amazing aim.”
– “You saw it too, right? That miracle. Every bullet she fires…”
“…..”
Strange comments were appearing in the chat, but I ignored them. For the first time in my life, I held a sniper rifle in my hands. The scope and the gun, with their stylish design, looked impressive.
“Oh… What’s this operator’s ability?”
The only thing I knew about the operator Glaz was that he was a sniper. I asked Baraa about it, using it as an opportunity to inquire about it with the viewers as well.
“That… you know that thing in the middle of your mouse, the one that goes drrrrrrk? If you press that, the scope pops out dramatically. And when you aim with it, enemies appear yellow and bang pop out.”
– “What the…”
– “This explanation is so bad LOLLLLLLLL.”

“Uh… hmm…”
Following Baraa’s vague explanation, I attached the scope. My field of view became slightly more magnified. Standing still at the starting position, I watched Baraa, who was swaying back and forth, observing me. My fingers itched. If I pressed left-click now, I’d end up killing her.
“…Phew…”
Exercising the utmost patience, I took my hand off the mouse, scratched my itchy fingers, and ran toward the first-floor site.
Bang! Bang!
Trailing Baraa, who had self-assigned herself the role of shield-bearer, I moved slowly, searching for enemies hiding deep inside the site.

Lee Su-yeon POV
As the round switched and I was pondering what to do next, Chocoa made a bold choice.
“Oh… What’s this operator’s ability?”
The question brought back chills as it reminded me of a ranked game with friends during the Platinum promotion match. But I trusted Chocoa and picked Montagne.
Soo-young… Min-ho… you guys… you need to aim well now… Don’t just linger and die like before…
Praying for the friends who were no longer here, I focused on answering Chocoa’s questions while entering the game with determination.
“Uh… hmm…”
Chocoa looked around with the sniper rifle, unfolded the scope, and scanned the surroundings. Her scope eventually stopped on me.

Feeling the sudden attention, I thought I needed to do something and started spamming Q and E—the lifeblood of Lesik gameplay.
“I’m going in.”
With Chocoa on my back, I broke the barricade and entered the arcade entrance with a resolute heart.
The area was lined with broken, black-screened game machines. Faded neon lights hung at the entrance. Sounds split from two directions—straight ahead and to the left. The barricaded front site was firmly sealed, but sounds were coming from the other two directions.
“…There are enemies on both sides. I’ll go for the left first.”
I stuck to the right wall as much as possible to avoid giving an angle to the right side. The enemy waiting on the left staircase hesitated for a moment upon spotting Montagne before quickly retreating upstairs.
Dudududu-
Before long, a teammate clearing the second floor traded one-for-one with that enemy, bringing the game to a 4v4. I then pushed toward the enemy on the right.
Bang! Bang!
The enemy, desperate to escape, tried to leave through a pre-made hole but failed to time it properly. Ignoring his shotgun shots, I coolly blasted him with a headshot, leaving him sprawled.
Eventually, I regrouped with teammates who had already started fighting without me.
In the chaotic battlefield, grenades exploded, and bullets flew. Sometimes, when forced to play as a shield operator, certain thoughts crossed my mind.
“Ah, that’s not how you do that.”
I thought the defender shouldn’t have positioned themselves there. If a throwable landed, they’d die instantly. Grenades shouldn’t be thrown that way either; if they had waited a bit longer before throwing, they would’ve secured a kill. The placement of traps wasn’t great either. They were too visible—even someone with Montagne’s limited vision could avoid them and enter the site.
“…I can’t believe this worked.”
One of my teammates, following me and shooting from behind, stepped on a trap blatantly placed on the ground and died instantly.
“Why… isn’t this hitting…??”
Despite Chocoa continuously firing at the enemy from behind me, about half of her bullets were blocked by my shield. The rest barely grazed the enemy. Thinking there might be a cheater on the enemy team, I folded my shield and grabbed my revolver.

Choi Ga-young POV
Friday. The midterm exams, which had thankfully ended quickly, were over, and I was walking across campus. Around me, people were either making plans with friends or snuggling up as couples. Watching them, I slowly walked toward home. Small footsteps sounded behind me.
Tap, tap, tap-
Judging by how the sound wasn’t growing distant, I figured it could only be my somewhat close junior, Eunah. Turning around, I saw—
“…Hmm?”
“Um… Senior..! That photo…”
“Huh?”
“Thank you! I enjoy watching your streams..!”
A girl, likely a junior, ran off in the opposite direction after speaking. I just stood there, staring at her retreating figure.
“…Thanks..?”
Feeling something different from Su-yeon, I dazedly crossed the campus.
“Heyyo~”
Eunah appeared moments later, smirking. Her expression seemed mocking, so I glared at her, but it didn’t change anything.
“What?”
“Famous streamer Chocoa, how does it feel?”
“…Weird.”
Unlike Baraa, who had been with me from the start, this felt unfamiliar and awkward.
“Then hurry up and pack. We’re heading to Su-yeon’s house. We’re leaving for Busan tomorrow morning. Watch out for zombies.”
“……”
“What? Why, what’s wrong?”
“Mom… huh? Dad, you’re here?”
When I entered the house, my dad, whom I hadn’t seen at this hour in a while, was lounging on the sofa watching golf.
“Good job, kiddo! Did the exams go well?”
“Sort of. I need a bag to pack for my trip. Do we have one?”
“What? Where are you going?”
“Uh… with… friends…?”
“What…?”
Even as his arm accidentally hit the remote, changing the channel, my dad looked at me with a shocked expression and slowly got up from the sofa.
“…Is this for real..?”
“Friends are a possibility too, you know.”
“What… what… It’s nothing weird, right?”
“No, I was the one who suggested it first. So, once I finish packing, I’ll head out. You two enjoy some quality time together tonight.”
“I… I’m a man…?! Daughter, seriously!!”
Ignoring my dad’s loud fussing from behind, I packed clothes and various items into a small carry-on suitcase.
“Thank you.”
After getting out of the taxi and retrieving the small black suitcase from the trunk, I caught sight of the setting sun, glowing red between the low buildings.
For a moment, I admired the almost-vanished sun, lost in thought, before heading to Su-yeon’s house.
“Welc—haah… come in…!! Haaah…”
As soon as the door opened, a small cat greeted me.

Lee Su-yeon POV
On my way home from finishing my part-time job, I didn’t head home as usual. Instead, I made my way to a large supermarket.
“Hmm hmm hmm~”
Surrounded by hundreds, even thousands, of ingredients, various ideas flooded my mind, and I found myself humming a little tune. It was a slightly country-like hum as I pushed the cart and picked out various ingredients when someone called out to me.
“Oh my~ Miss! Try this once!”
An older lady grilling dumplings at the dumpling section stopped me as I walked past.
“Uh…? Oh… um…”
It felt like I’d have to buy them if I ate some, but the dumplings looked so delicious, golden-brown and perfectly cooked.
Would Min-young like these…? Yeah, probably, right?? This was just to see if it suited her taste, after all…
“It’s delicious.”
Though I burned the roof of my mouth a little, it was truly tasty, and I ended up popping a few more pieces into my mouth right there.
“You eat so well~! You’re pretty, so you attract a crowd too. I’ll just give you one more, so eat a little more~”
“…Huh? Uh… sure?”
“Miss! Now try this one too!”
And so, I became something of a human totem pole, drawing many customers. The older ladies gifted me several packs of frozen food in exchange for my help. However, not wanting to just take without giving, I helped sell some products before finally finishing my shopping.
After that little ordeal, I had no way to carry the box home myself, so I ended up taking a taxi. Only then did I finally reach home.
“Ughhhhhhh…”
Collapsing onto the bed in exhaustion, I saw Strawberry climb up using the bedpost. She let out a soft meow and stared at me.
“Meow…”
“You’re here.”
After changing into my pajamas and organizing the groceries, my sister and Eunah unnie showed up at the house.
“Hm? What’s going on? There’s still time left.”
“You should’ve gone shopping with me!”
The moment my sister arrived, she puffed their cheeks in a sulk and sat on the bed, kneading Strawberry’s cheeks.
“Not knowing is more fun… It’s… a surprise…~”
Awkwardly making excuses, I managed to diffuse her mood, and, as usual, she softened up and played with Strawberry.
“…Hey, what exactly have you been up to?”
“Me? Uh… nothing much?”
“You… never mind. I’ll just hear about it on stream later. What on earth happened at the supermarket for it to hit the trending searches…”
Eunah unnie sighed and muttered to herself, glancing at me as she sat at the dining table.
“?”
“What? Coffee.”
“Meow! Meeow!!”
“Pfft, heh…”
I was curious about my sister and Strawberry playing on top of me while I was trying to rest on the bed, but since neither seemed to be in any distress, I let it be.
“……”
Swish— swish—
Watching the mouse toy swaying in front of me, I suddenly felt like I’d turned into a cat.
Whap—
I quickly reached out to grab the toy mouse, but it slipped away. Fueled by a sudden competitive spirit, I ended up having a full-on competition with Min-young.
Eventually, as we played, we welcomed Chocoa.
