Chapter 152: Going through Her Memories
The police soon arrived.
"Mr Jin, I would have to ask you to come to the police station for questioning," A police officer said.
Jin nodded and went along with him while the other police officials collected evidence from the crime scene.
It was only by five in the morning that Jin left the police station. The moment he left, loads of journalists blocked his path and asked him several questions.
With the help of the police, he made his way past them and entered his car. He switched off his phone and soon stepped on the accelerator.
He didn't know where he was going. He just wanted to be somewhere quiet, and with him being all over the news right now, it would be very difficult to find such a place in the city.
He kept driving until he was no longer in the city.
Soon buildings were no longer flooding the surrounding area and were replaced by trees.
Driving through that curved road in the forest provided some solace to his troubled mind.
When he saw a clearing in the forest beside the road, he decided to park his car there and rest for a while.
Too much had happened in the last twenty-four hours, and he was exhausted.
He sighed deeply and reclined on the seat.
Sleep, however, didn't come easily to him, and he decided to look through his system status to keep his mind busy.

'Operator level, huh? The system sure has some cool names,' Jin thought in passing as he opened up the store.

With his points, he decided to buy another inventory space.
Seeing his current balance going down to 32,345 points, Jin turned off the system panel and took out something from his pocket.
It was the memory shard that had emerged from Fana's body. The same message popped up once again.
CONSUME NOW? (Yes/No)
Jin pressed on 'Yes' and closed his eyes.
When he woke up, it was night. He checked the time on his car and it was half past eight.
His hand reached for his phone, and he switched it on. As the phone was being switched on, Jin was going through all of Fana's memories once again in his mind.
During that long dream of his head was surprised when he found out that something like the 'gem' existed in this world.
He wouldn't have believed it if he hadn't been the direct victim of this gem.
At first, extreme anger rose within him towards Fana for ruining his life with Diana, but it disappeared when he felt the fear, anguish and pain she went through during her last moments.
Jin sighed deeply.
His hatred and anger were no longer directed towards Fana now. She was long dead, and he didn't want to waste his efforts on that.
However, there was still someone whom he wanted to kill in the most gruesome way possible.
It was Rogan, and the reason was very simple. If Fana had not ruined his relationship with Diana, and he was still with her, then in the most likely possibility, she would have shared the same fate that Fana did.
Just thinking of something so gruesome happening with Diana made Jin grit his teeth.
His phone which had turned on by now started vibrating all of a sudden as a stream of missed calls and messages filled his screen.
Jin filtered through the calls he had received and found one from the police official he had given his contacts.
He soon called him up.
"Sorry, I was asleep. What happened, officer? Were you able to find him?" Jin asked the man.
"…Regarding that, Mr Jin, I had called you to inform you about this in the afternoon. At around noon today, a domestic flight was hijacked by a group of terrorists and was diverted to Umi.
The flight soon landed at an unknown airfield along with the 187 hostages in the western part of Umi, thus making it clear that these terrorists have an affiliation with Umi rebels.
When our staff went through the images of all the passengers, a particular passenger who was in disguise matched the characteristics of the man named Rogan in the video, which you gave us.
It proved our theory that the hijack was done by Rogan and his men."
The police official told Jin all that he had missed while sleeping.
"Umi rebels, huh? Alright, thank you for informing me, officer," Jin thanked the man.
The police officer then advised Jin not to lose himself to grief and that they would do their best to catch the criminal before hanging up the call.
Jin then called another number from which he had received a lot of missed calls.
Not even a ring was fully completed, and his call was picked.
"Hello Dylan," Jin said.
"Jin! Where are you!?! Don't do anything stupid, alright? I know it hurt, but think about Fana, she wouldn't want you to end your own life because of her, so remove that thought right off your mind! Tell me where you are first, I'll come and pick you up…" Dylan's worry-filled voice came from the other side of the phone.
A small smirk appeared on Jin's face as he heard Dylan and stopped him midway, "I'm not killing myself, Dylan."
Dylan took a sigh of relief when he heard this and said, "That's good, but why didn't you pick up my call until now? Do you have any idea what terrible thoughts were going through my mind?"
"Well, I was asleep. Too much happened yesterday night and my mind was exhausted," Jin said.
"Yeah, you must be very exhausted, sorry for not taking that into account," Dylan said, "but where are you right now? These media people are looking for you everywhere."
"I know, that's why I drove to the outskirts of the city. I'm currently in my car," Jin said.
"That's good. It's still a quarter before nine, so come to my house. It's much better than going to a hotel right now and attracting the media," Dylan suggested.
"…Alright, I'll be there in half an hour." Jin was about to politely refuse, but changed his mind at the end.
"Great, drive carefully," Dylan said before Jin ended the call.
