Chapter 126: Time of Human Crisis (Part 4)
"Let's not look back."
"Anyone who dares look back won't share the sky with me..."
Threatening with his words, Chen Yu partially revealed the "propeller" and instructed the four people: "First, Translator Ji, you're a Transcendent with the strongest weight-bearing capability. You carry my sister."
"Me?" The girl thought about turning around to confirm but was slapped on the back of her head by Chen Yu.
"I told you not to turn back. Then, Sister, you carry our dad. Dad, you carry mom."
"What the hell are you doing?" Chen's father complained: "After carrying your mother, I'll be having nightmares for several nights."
Ms. Chen raised her hand: "Son, if I kick your father down, will you hate me?"
Chen Yu: "...We're trying to escape. You two take this seriously."
"Fine," sighed Chen's father. "I'll reluctantly hold on for a while."
"Let's get started." Chen Yu circulated the source of his special ability and urged the girl: "Hurry up."
"It's too high, none of us can fly. I don't understand how you plan to take so many people and escape." The girl shook her head with her back to Chen Yu: "So, I won't risk it with you. I'm going up first."
"All of the foreigners have been wiped out." Chen Yu narrowed his eyes: "Now, their target is the Transcendents."
"Then I need to go up even more." The girl was firm: "My kin need my help."
"You didn't say that just now," Chen Yu said with disdain.
"Ah, at least dying on the battlefield would bring honor to the family." The girl carefully glanced at the height below: "Falling to my death doesn't suit me."
"...OK." After a moment of silence, Chen Yu pulled up his pants and stepped aside to give her space: "Then go ahead, you can turn back now."
Li Yao immediately turned around, sizing up Chen Yu for a while: "Can I watch your 'art of escape' from here?"
"Dream on."
"Alright then." The girl, regretful, started to ascend the stairs.
Halfway up, she suddenly remembered something, turned around, and said, "The matter of your sister being an 'evil creature,' I will report truthfully to the higher-ups."
The three members of the Chen family were startled.
Chen Yu's face filled with disgust: "Are you a dog?"
"It's my duty as a Transcendent," said the girl with a serious face.
"Is there room for negotiation?"
"No."
Upon hearing this, Chen Yu looked down, a cold light flickering in his eyes.
His brain frantically calculated losses and gains.
"Xiaoyu." Behind him, Chen spoke in a subdued tone, tugging at Chen Yu's sleeve.
Chen Yu turned back, puzzled.
Chen shook her head and whispered, "Don't."
"..."
After a long silence, Chen Yu made up his mind and said to the three members of the Chen family: "Dad, Mom. You wait here for a bit, I'm going to send her off."
"Xiaoyu!" Chen said anxiously.
"Shh."
Chen Yu gestured for her to be quiet, then with a smile on his face, he walked towards the girl: "Let's go up together, I'll escort you."
Li Yao looked at Chen Yu deeply and did not refuse.
The two of them, one after the other, made their way up the broken staircase.
Neither spoke a word.
Each was preoccupied with their thoughts, proceeding with caution, their steps slow.
When the two reached the arena, they stopped simultaneously.
At this moment, the deadly struggle between the many "evil creatures" and the Transcendents had spread throughout the arena.
All around were cries of people fighting, sobbing, and pleading for help.
"I promise, I can safely take you to the ground," Chen Yu swore, raising two fingers: "I hope you believe me."
"Is your real strength actually at C+?"
"No."
"Then you can't possibly fly." The girl's beautiful big eyes didn't blink: "I'd rather fight here and wait for reinforcements. At least that's more reliable."
"Fine." Seeing that she was adamant, Chen Yu didn't say more, extending his hand: "Anyway, thank you for your help. May the mountains never change, the rivers flow forever, let's meet again if fate allows."
"I thought you were going to attack me here." The girl shook hands with Chen Yu: "But with what you just said, are you planning to flee with your family?"
"You and I were never on the same path to begin with," Chen Yu withdrew his hand: "There's no question of desertion." Stay tuned to My Virtual Library Empire
"...From my position, I should attack you right now."
"Whatever." Chen Yu shrugged: "You can try."
"But as an enemy, your current priority is not as high as those 'evil creatures'." Li Yao winked playfully, a rare sight: "Also, I will report truthfully that you guys fell to your deaths."
Chen Yu laughed and shook hands with the girl again: "OK, let's meet again if fate allows."
"Goodbye."
"Oh, before you go, can you leave something with me as a keepsake?"
"What do you want?"
Chen Yu pointed to the girl's hat: "This."
"No problem." Li Yao took off her hat without hesitation, revealing her title "Virgin Who Enjoys Sensual Pleasures."
Chen Yu took it, placing it on his own head.
It covered "Castrated for Human Glory."
"If you survive, don't report it to your superiors just yet," Chen Yu patted the girl's shoulder: "Go home and see your dad first."
"Why?"
"You'll know once you've seen him."
Without another word, he bid farewell to Li Yao.
Chen Yu returned to the exit beneath the staircase.
Chen approached seriously: "Xiaoyu, did you fight with her?"
"No," Chen Yu waved his hand: "Don't dilly-dally. The Transcendents above are getting weaker; the casualties are heavy. We need to move fast. It's too terrifying."
One minute later.
As arranged by Chen Yu, Chen embraced her father, and Chen's father embraced Ms. Chen.
Chen Yu, having taken off his pants again, picked up Chen.
Chen: "I feel like we're playing acrobats."
Chen: "Whew... this woman is heavy."
