Chapter 423: Kael’Zirath, The Dragon Emperor
Inside the palace, a man with long red hair sat casually on a mat, an amicable smile on his face.
It was an elegant yet simple room. Soft light illuminated the space, accentuating its minimalist decor and serene atmosphere.
As Aur stood there, he felt a sense of coolness, and his mind began to calm. A serene feeling settled in his heart, leaving him completely calm and collected. All the emotions he had gradually built up began to vanish like flowing water, disappearing completely.
"This is…" He paused, then looked at the man sitting on the mat with horrified eyes.
The man with long red hair smiled without a word.
"Meet the Dragonian Emperor, Kael'Zirath, a Tier Eight Wizard," Moonlight chuckled.
"I greet the Dragonian Emperor." Aur clasped his fist and bowed in a proper manner.
Kael'Zirath smiled amicably without a word:
"It's nice to meet you too, the famed Aur. I thought you would be a little disrespectful, but it seems I was mistaken."
Aur raised an eyebrow.
"It's my great honor for my name to be heard by the Dragonian Emperor. I wouldn't welcome people with open arms if they came for my life or my way, would I?"
Silence.
"Aur…" Moonlight was about to call him worriedly, but a clap echoed through the room.
Kael'Zirath began to clap his hands, nodding in agreement:
"You are right, Aur. Exactly—give the enemy no chance to exist. They must die before they even have a chance to retaliate."
Aur remained calm as a blue screen appeared right in front of him, blocking his view of the man.
He glanced at Kael'Zirath again, but there was no reaction.
"Luckily," he sighed in relief.
"Hey, reply to the Dragonian Emperor, Aur," Moonlight said with a stern expression. "At least apologize."
The Dragonian Emperor still wore a smile as he spoke again:
"It's fine. Apologies are only for the weak. Are you weak, Aur?"
"Yeah, I am, compared to you," Aur raised his head and looked straight at him with an expressionless face.
"Haha, anyway, let's stop wasting time and get to the main point of why you were summoned here."
"Did you save me because I am an unknown creature?" Aur asked, his curiosity piqued.
"What do you think?"
"I don't know." Aur shook his head. 'Even if I knew, why should I tell you my thoughts?' he thought to himself.
Kael'Zirath's brows twitched:
"Do you want to join us?"
"To become a Dragonian?"
"Yes."
"I'm in, but what benefits will I get if I do so?"
"You will gain power beyond words, resources you cannot imagine, and, most importantly, paths other than wizards."
"Paths other than wizards?"
"That's right. You might have already noticed it. You've become a Tier Four by using the path of the body. In the era before the Wizard, known as the Golden Age, there were not only the Body Path, but also many other paths such as Beast Taming, Transformation, Soul, Totem, and countless others—too many to count."
"… How do you know this?"
"Haha, this might be a secret even for a Tier Seven wizard; however, almost all older Tier Eight wizards know about it. You guys are special because you are not bound to the rules of this place made by the Human Emperor."
"Why does not being a wizard affect you so much?"
"That is a secret you're not worthy enough to learn right now." Kael'Zirath shook his head.
"Come, follow me. Aren't you going to be one of us soon?"
"Alright." Aur stood up and quietly followed. Whether he was agreeing or not, at this moment, Aur was a mere prisoner.
What could he do, even if he disagreed?
'Besides, I'm not exactly against turning into a half-demon.'
In Aur's eyes, there was no difference between humans and demons. Whether he was human or not didn't matter; what mattered were his goals, which he would achieve no matter what.
'I will achieve it.' Aur clenched his fist with a steeled expression. He had seen pretty much everything in his previous life and this life combined. All that was left were the three wills of his family.
Even if it was vague, he didn't have a goal other than this to begin with, a man without a goal is a waste of space so Aur will pursue this with all his heart to it.
Soon, he was led to a lab, where many Dragonian people in white coats worked around capsules filled with green liquids. Inside these capsules floated the bodies of normal humans.
"Do you know about the outside world, the eight ruling kingdoms?" Kael'Zirath paused and turned toward Aur.
"I know their alliance and other things."
"… Oh, I forgot you were in a small village in the Roshar kingdom not long ago," Kael'Zirath muttered. "How was the technological advancement in your village? It must be really poor there."
"Yes," Aur nodded.
Up until this point, he hadn't actually visited anywhere beyond his village. Even when he was on the warship, the only places he saw were the battlefield and then the Dungeon, which led to the subsequent events he experienced.
"Brother, the technology in this world is almost comparable to my world, but unfortunately, everything works on mana and spells," Moonlight said, patting Aur's shoulder.
"I see." Aur nodded. 'Your world is probably far more advanced than mine, considering you have things that would only be shown as fictional movies in our world.'
As he was thinking, a capsule opened right in front of him.
"Enter, Aur," Kael'Zirath beckoned.
Aur stepped forward without hesitation, entering the capsule.
The moment he stepped inside, his eyelids grew heavy, and a feeling of lethargy washed over him. Before he could think any longer, Aur fell into a deep sleep.
Kael'Zirath turned toward the Dragonian people.
"Start the process."
"Yes, master."
Their voices echoed in unison, and immediately, mana began to pour into the surrounding area. World Essence of Tier Seven started to be ejected, filling the room with mist.
A green light shone, enveloping the room completely.
