My Pokemon Turned into Girls?!

Chapter 39: Chapter 39: The Raccoon Swaps the Prince

After listening to the intelligence shared by Lt. Surge, Kazuki finally gained a rough understanding of the situation here

In summary, Team Rocket was conducting a major transaction, exchanging captured Pokémon for some very important resources.

They had even mobilized a large number of troops to protect the operation.

However, there were a few terms that kept coming up repeatedly, which made the young man feel uneasy:

"The Evolution Association? Is this a new criminal organization that's popped up in the Kanto region? I've never heard of it before."

Hearing his question, Lt. Surge showed a surprised expression: "Aren't you an external investigator? How do you not know this… And the Evolution Association isn't from Kanto but from Hoenn. Recently, their members have caused quite a stir by entering the region, so the League has specifically notified all Gym Leaders to be extra vigilant."

"Uh, well, I haven't had that badge for very long," Kazuki awkwardly laughed, his gaze shifting to Sabrina beside him.

"I don't know… I didn't pay attention to the notice," Sabrina said without a hint of guilt, uttering words that were extremely irresponsible for a Gym Leader. Lt. Surge felt the pain in his forehead where he had hit the ground earlier returning. Helpless, he could only continue to explain:

"The Evolution Association hasn't been fully classified as an illegal organization like Team Rocket yet. Essentially, they're a loosely managed civilian group. So far, only affiliated Pokémon Poachers have been caught, with no high-level management, so it's hard to label them as such… By the way, their emblem is a Golden Cross-Star."

Golden Cross-Star…

A few memory fragments flashed through Kazuki's mind, and his brow relaxed. If he wasn't mistaken, the Pokémon Poachers he had dealt with before all had emblems that matched this description. Could it really be such a coincidence…

"But given how much Team Rocket values this transaction, the Evolution Association will likely send someone of significance. If we can capture them, the League will have grounds to add the Evolution Association to the blacklist."

After explaining the situation and the mission objective, Lt. Surge began planning the next steps:

"Earlier, while undercover, I sent out a distress signal. My subordinates and the Vermilion City police should have received it and are gathering here. Once everyone is assembled, we'll launch a full-scale attack."

However, Kazuki quickly raised a concern: "But based on what Sabrina and I have observed, the crates containing the Pokémon are almost all loaded. Plus, your exposure has already put them on high alert. They could end the transaction and disperse at any moment."

"We can't just have the three of us take on a whole group, can we? Even if we can handle the small fry, the real threats haven't even shown up yet… By then, our Pokémon will be too exhausted to fight back."

"Speaking of which," Kazuki glanced at the towering beast loyally standing behind Lt. Surge. Compared to the "danger" written all over this guy, the Pokémon Lt. Surge had used during their Gym battle that day seemed like mere "babies."

"Why didn't you use this guy during the Gym battle?"

"Of course not! A Gym Leader's duty is to test a Trainer's qualifications, not to crush them into despair. Naturally, I adjust my team based on the Trainer's strength. I underestimated you back then since you only had three badges, or else it wouldn't have been so easy for you to win."

Lt. Surge answered without much thought. But what did this have to do with their upcoming operation?

"Then I'm relieved."

This was exactly the answer Kazuki wanted. If the other party were the type of Trainer who rigidly followed the rules even outside of battles, his plan might not have worked.

"Gym Leader Lt. Surge, you probably don't have just six usable Pokémon on you right now, do you?"

"Of course not! I'm dealing with Team Rocket, so I've prepared more thoroughly. I have eighteen Pokémon ready to battle, but I can't send them all out at once. If I can't command them properly, it's better to just use a few."

"How many of them are Voltorb?"

"Seven. They're quite useful in emergencies… Why are you suddenly asking about this?"

Slightly puzzled, Lt. Surge then saw the "evil" smile on the young man's face:

"Gym Leader Lt. Surge, maybe we can do this later…"

After listening to Kazuki's plan, Lt. Surge took a sharp breath. At most, he occasionally used Voltorb and Electrode as smart grenades, but this kid was truly devious!

But honestly, the plan sounded quite feasible. It could help them take out a large number of Team Rocket grunts without much cost.

"You're young but full of cunning! But that's exactly how we should deal with those scoundrels from Team Rocket! Let's proceed with your plan…"

"Found anything? Nothing here!" "Nothing here either, stay alert!"

Holding up searchlights, the grunts of Team Rocket formed into squads, continuing to search for traces of the intruder. To ensure safety, each squad maintained a distance from the main force that would allow for timely assistance.

Their faces were tense, their eyes scanning every corner that could hide an adult male. After all, facing off against the League might not be a big deal, but the boss currently overseeing them, despite his polite speech, was cold-blooded and ruthless at his core.

If they failed to find the intruder and he disrupted the organization's transaction, every single one of them would likely lose their heads.

"Brothers, come quick! We've caught the intruder!"

Just as they were as anxious as ants on a hot pan, a voice full of hope rang in their ears.

The group quickly rushed toward the source of the sound and soon saw Lt. Surge, bruised and battered, with his hands and feet tightly bound with rope.

The man who had been knocked out by Lt. Surge and impersonated, only to be discovered by the Team Rocket members earlier, stepped forward first. Since his original disguise as a foreman's clothes had been stolen, he was now wearing the official Team Rocket uniform.

He quickly walked up, bent down to inspect Lt. Surge, whose face was so beaten that he could only be identified by his yellow spiky hair, and immediately kicked him in the abdomen.

Lt. Surge let out a painful groan, curling up into a ball. But the Team Rocket squad leader didn't seem satisfied. He raised his leg and delivered a few more kicks, cursing:

"If the boss didn't want you alive for interrogation, I'd twist your head off right now…"

After venting a bit with a string of colorful language, the squad leader turned his gaze to the male and female grunts beside him, speaking in an appreciative tone:

"Not bad, guys. How'd you catch this guy?"

"Report! We found him by accident while searching. He didn't notice us, so we knocked him out from behind," the male "grunt" replied.

"Good, good! I'll definitely recommend you two to the boss when we get back! Now, take this intruder to Master Raviel!"

However, the "grunt" who had just made the achievement stopped the others who were about to act and added, "Sir, to prevent any accidents, we should confiscate all the Poké Balls on him first."

"You're really thoughtful. Let's do that!" Hearing this, the squad leader was even more pleased. With such a smart and brave subordinate, what did he have to worry about?

He simply handed the task over to the two of them. The male and female "grunts" immediately stepped forward and thoroughly searched Lt. Surge. During the process, as he kept struggling and resisting, the female grunt even punched him hard in the face, adding another layer of color to his already colorful face.

The red and white Poké Balls that were found were thrown one by one behind them by the male grunt, and the rest of the Team Rocket members quickly caught and collected them.

Soon, all the balls were thrown. Seeing this, the squad leader was about to order his subordinates to pick up Lt. Surge, who was now lying motionless on the ground after that punch.

"Sir, please wait a moment!"

It was the male grunt again. After the series of events, the squad leader was now filled with trust in this not-so-familiar subordinate and immediately said, "If there's anything else to handle, just say it. We can wait."

"No need to wait anymore, because… it's now!"

The squad leader looked at his suddenly excited subordinate with confusion, not understanding what he was up to.

However, the moment the voice fell, the "red and white balls" that had been evenly scattered across every corner simultaneously opened their eyes.

Golden electric currents burst forth, enveloping nearly 80% of the Team Rocket members in an instant.

Before they could utter a single word, they were charred black and collapsed to the ground.

"Those were Voltorb in disguise! They weren't Poké Balls at all!"

Only when someone realized the truth and shouted out did the remaining Team Rocket members wake up from their daze.

"You…" Instantly on high alert, the squad leader turned to the two "subordinates" and was about to command his Pokémon to attack. But before the words could leave his mouth, he turned into a doll and fell to the ground.

"Go, Electivire!"

Since everything was a ruse, Lt. Surge's capture was naturally also a disguise.

The injuries on his face almost disappeared in an instant, except for the black mark around his right eye… courtesy of Sabrina.

He took the real Poké Ball that had been handed to Kazuki earlier and immediately sent out his main powerhouse first.

Kazuki and Sabrina didn't hesitate either, releasing their Pokémon with a flash of red light.

A black Mightyena landed on all fours, raising its head and letting out a long howl.

Its ferocious aura instantly spread, causing the remaining Team Rocket members and their Pokémon to tremble.

"Hey… couldn't you have just used your illusions to fake the injuries? Why did you have to punch me so hard?"

With the situation overwhelmingly in their favor, Lt. Surge had the leisure to complain to Sabrina about his earlier ordeal. However, the girl simply glanced at him and calmly replied:

"That made it more realistic."

"Tch." Watching Sabrina, who had only given him a brief response before diving back into the battle, Lt. Surge could only turn his head and vent all his frustration on the Team Rocket members:

"Electivire, let's clean this place up together!"
