Chapter 23: Chapter 23: The Weight of the Prism

The Prism of Harmony was heavier than it looked—not just in weight, but in the energy it radiated. As we descended the Shardspire Mountains, I could feel its power humming in my bag, a constant reminder of the responsibility we now carried.

"Do you think this thing actually works?" I asked Skully, adjusting the strap of my bag. "I mean, it's just a shiny rock, right?"

Skully, perched on my shoulder, tilted his head. *"Master, if I've learned one thing from our adventures, it's that 'shiny rocks' are usually the most dangerous things in the room. Besides, didn't you feel that energy back there? This thing is the real deal."*

I sighed. "Yeah, I felt it. I just hope it's enough to stop the Eclipse Dragon."

The journey back to the Obsidian Spire was quieter than I expected. The whispers from the mountains had faded, but the weight of the Prism seemed to grow with every step. Even Skully was uncharacteristically silent, his rune flickering faintly as if deep in thought.

"You okay, Skully?" I asked, breaking the silence.

He hesitated, his eye sockets narrowing. *"I'm fine, Master. Just… thinking."*

"About what?"

*"About the Eclipse Dragon,"* he replied, his voice unusually solemn. *"What if we're not strong enough to stop it? What if the Prism isn't enough?"*

I stopped walking and turned to face him. "Skully, we've faced impossible odds before. We've taken down the Ancient One, survived the Shardspire Mountains, and outsmarted more traps than I can count. If anyone can do this, it's us."

Skully's rune glowed brighter for a moment, and he grinned. *"You're right, Master. We've got this."*

But as we continued walking, I couldn't shake the feeling that something was still off. Skully's rune had been flickering more frequently, and his moments of silence were becoming more common. The Prism's energy seemed to be affecting him, but I didn't know how—or why.
