Chapter 85: A Little Crazy, But Damn Cute
Feng Fan and Xue Qiang glanced at the menu in front of them, exchanging confused looks.
"I have no idea what any of this is," Feng Fan said.
Xue Qiang nodded in agreement.
Feng Fan called the waiter over. "Please bring us the best dish you have, along with a drink to go with it. You can choose; I'm sure your taste is good."
The waiter nodded, taking the menus. "Of course, I'll take care of it."
After the waiter left, Xue Qiang chuckled. "You didn't want to admit you didn't know any of those dishes, did you?"
"It's too much trouble to explain," Feng Fan replied. "Better to let him choose for us. He works here, so I'm sure he'll pick the best."
"Typical of you," Xue Qiang teased. "Always avoiding asking for help. Remember when you hurt your foot and walked a whole kilometer instead of asking for help?"
Feng Fan smiled, recalling the time he and Xue Qiang had been stealing peaches from an orchard.
He fell from a high wall while escaping from the orchard owner and hurt his right foot.
Xue Qiang had insisted they ask an adult for help, but Feng Fan refused and walked all the way home. Your next read is at empire
"It's not that I don't like asking for help," he said. "It's just that if there's another way, I'd rather take it."
Xue Qiang rolled her eyes. "Of course."
"When we got here on Red Pole, you could have asked me for help," she said, extending her right hand and taking his. "But you never did, even when I offered."
Feng Fan felt the softness of her hand against his, the calluses from her spear training brushing his skin, and he gulped. "Qinqin, I—"
"You can count on me, you know?" She smiled, cutting off whatever excuse he was about to offer.
'I love you, Fanfan…' she thought to herself.
Feng Fan heard her thoughts and smiled warmly. 'This girl…'
"Thank you, Qinqin. I promise I'll count on you from now on, okay?"
"That's a promise, right?"
"Yeah, I swear to count on you, Xue Qiang, from now on. I won't try to do everything on my own!"
Xue Qiang's smile widened, and Feng Fan could swear it was one of the most beautiful things he had ever seen.
"If you break your promise..." she said, a playful glint in her eyes.
'I'll lock you in my room so you can never get hurt,' she thought.
'Even if this girl is a little crazy... she's just too damn cute,' Feng Fan thought to himself.
Feng Fan chuckled. "Don't worry, if I break this promise, I'll walk naked across the entire White Crow Sect!"
Xue Qiang furrowed her brows in annoyance. "Why would I want you walking around naked for everyone to see?"
'What if some vixen sees your naked body and likes it? I'll have to kill her...' she thought.
Feng Fan coughed, quickly changing the subject. They soon began talking about their time on Earth, and how they missed certain things—like cell phones, their families, and the food.
A few minutes later, their food and drinks finally arrived.
Feng Fan glanced at their food, intrigued. The plate in front of him appeared to be pesto pasta with some kind of unfamiliar meat.
Although he couldn't quite identify the meat, the aroma alone made his mouth water.
'This smells amazing.'
Xue Qiang's dish was the same.
Their drink seemed to be alcoholic, though he couldn't tell exactly what it was. The only thing he could discern was its deep, mesmerizing blue color.
Feng Fan and Xue Qiang picked up their chopsticks, taking their time to savor the food.
When Feng Fan placed a piece of meat in his mouth, he instantly felt the spiritual qi infused within it. He activated his cultivation technique, allowing the energy to flow seamlessly through his body, enveloping him in a warm, soothing sensation.
His eyes lit up in surprise. 'So this isn't just a regular restaurant. I didn't realize they served food for cultivators here. This must be some kind of demon beast meat. Interesting.'
After enjoying the meal, Feng Fan reached for the blue drink. The moment the liquid touched his lips, spiritual qi spread through his body.
'Not bad, not bad. Great food, a refreshing drink, and a stunning, fiery, woman by my side. What more could I ask for? Nothing could ruin this day.'
As the blood flag has been successfully raised, a loud, arrogant voice rang out near Feng Fan.
"What a stunning lady! Why waste your time with this loser from the White Crow Sect? Come with me, and I'll treat you to the best delicacies that this tiny city could never offer. A fairy like you deserves the best."
Feng Fan's expression, once content, immediately soured. 'Of course, a young master had to show up…' he thought, his mood plummeting.
Xue Qiang's face twisted briefly in disgust, but she didn't dignify the salivating man with a response.
Because she wasn't wearing her White Crow Sect robes, the man likely didn't realize she was also a disciple.
Turning to face the interruption, Feng Fan's initial irritation melted away as his eyes landed on the source of the voice. His crumbling smile reformed into a wide, almost predatory grin.
Beside him stood a man with long black hair, a sharp, angular face, and a posture that screamed arrogance—his chin tilted as if the heavens themselves owed him respect.
Most important, he was dressed in the distinct attire of the Blue Dragon Sect.
Behind the self-proclaimed young master stood three other disciples: two men and one woman. The woman clung to one of the men in an overly familiar way, her demeanor suggesting he was more than just a companion.
In the pocket dimension where Feng Fan had competed, the members of the Blue Dragon Sect were the wealthiest participants.
And for Feng Fan, the rich were always welcome! After all, his best friends were often the generous type.
If they wanted to gift him more cultivation resources, who was he to refuse such acts of kindness?
'Ah, how did they know I'd need extra cultivation resources soon? Truly, the Blue Dragon Sect is full of saints! I promise never to insult them again. Such wonderful samaritans!' he mused, a sly grin spreading across his face.
