My Wives are Beautiful Demons

Chapter 306: What the fuck is going on here?

"What the fuck is going on here?" said Vergil, appearing on the scene. Fortunately, it was easy to use the Agares Clan's teleportation magic circles and so he could move between dimensions.

It was extremely difficult for ordinary people and demons. In fact, even the noblest of demons with the purest blood couldn't use it that easily. But Sapphire had taught him very well and for him, it was like just breathing. It no longer required any kind of conjuration, he just stopped and the red circle would teleport him wherever he wanted to go...

With his trained eyes, he took the opportunity to get a full dimension of the scene he was in, and with just a few steps, he could feel the presence of several different demons. Something like six hundred thousand demonic beings were watching the scene.

As he expanded his aura to check, his wives, who had ignored his first speech, finally noticed his presence, which he was holding back. Something he had understood too, don't expose yourself too much, regardless of your strength.

"Hi, love," Stella said with a gentle smile, raising a cup of tea and waving a delicate hand, as if she were greeting a guest on a Sunday afternoon.

"Tsk" Next to her, Roxanne clucked her tongue at her comment, breaking the small plate in half with the fork she used to eat her sweet cake, "Don't call my husband love. He's mine." She spoke as her blue eyes turned into possessive spirals.

"Oh, Fufufu," Stella laughed, "Looks like someone's really worried about your position. I thought my cute daughter was more confident," she said, covering her mouth with one hand as she laughed with her eyes closed.

Stella seemed to have assumed the posture of an older woman, despite looking eighteen with her youthful appearance.

Vergil gave a small smile and a nod as Stella teased his darling daughter, then turned to look at Ada, who was standing on the edge of the VIP Area balcony.

She seemed very agitated and her cold, distant appearance had completely disappeared, her movements were agitated, as if she were in the middle of an organized cheer.

"GO MOTHER! PUNCH THAT BASTARD!" She shouted excitedly, holding up a kind of red sign that read "My mother is stronger!"

Vergil blinked slowly, taking in the absurd scene: "They really are mother and daughter again... I never would have thought something like this would happen." He murmured as he analyzed Ada.

After the incidents experienced in the conflict with the Phenex Clan. Vergil did all he could to try to make Raphaeline apologize and be a mother to Ada again. Vergil knew how much he missed a figure in his life. In a way, even though he had been fooled into thinking he had a father, Sepphirothy had raised him alone. And of course, he missed having a father in his life.

Now... an absent mother? That would be much worse. Much, much worse. That's why he made every effort to mend Raphaeline's soul, to make sure that Ada at least had someone besides him.

He ended up getting too lost in his prideful thoughts seeing how well Ada looked, 'Maybe it's time I paid more attention to her, I'll be behind Raphaeline if I keep this up' He could only laugh.

While he looked good... Sapphire, on the other side, still standing and shouting, turned to him with a triumphant expression. "VERGIL! YOU'RE JUST IN TIME TO SEE THE BEATING!"

He was called back completely, seeing the red-haired woman completely out of her mind. It had been a long time since he'd seen his dear Sapphire this excited... well... not that long.

He turned his gaze and saw Katharina, she crossed her arms and rolled her eyes. "Mom's freaked out. Again, sit down and let's watch the fight."

"How boring..." Roxanne said walking past him after leaving her mother alone eating a delicious cake, after all, she had managed to take away her hunger for sweets.

Vergil pinched the bridge of his nose, feeling a headache grow like an oil slick. 'I'm going to go mad dealing with so many lunatics... well, I already am one...'

"Someone," he said in a voice laden with forced patience, "will you please explain to me coherently what exactly led Raphaeline - a demon queen with the strength of an army - to fight Cabernet - another demon queen with power equivalent to an apocalypse?"

The group exchanged uncomfortable glances until, finally, Ada stood up, cleared her throat and put the poster down. "So..." She smoothed her skirt as if preparing to give a lecture. "Cabernet made... an unfortunate comment."

Vergil stared at her with a look that clearly said continue before I lose what little control I have left.

Ada continued quickly: "She insinuated that my mother... she was only a Demon Queen because of Grandma... and even said that she now uses you as a crutch because Sapphire protects you."

"I see..." He muttered, after all, he knew one thing about Raphaeline... She was obsessed with her mother, to the point where she'd gone blind and left her daughter behind. And honestly. He understood.

If someone talked about her mother, Felicia. Or rather... Sepphirothy Lucifer. His blood mother, the blood that gave him life. He would create a war easily. Very easily.

"So," he said in a deadly quiet voice, "a war between two demon queens started because Cabernet insinuated that Raphaeline was... useless?"

"Yes." Ada nodded very seriously. And then, as if that explained everything, she added casually, "And also because... well, Mom hates to lose any argument."

In the center of the arena, Raphaeline did a brutal spin and threw Cabernet against a magical wall, cracking half the structure of the Colosseum.

The stands vibrated with the energy of the blow, chunks of black stone falling like rain.

Vergil looked at the arena.

He looked at his wives.

He looked up at the sky.

As if silently asking: Why?

"What do you think?" He turned casually to face Sapphire who was staring intently. Sapphire blinked and smiled at him. "It'll be fun when it really starts," she said, really looking forward to the real fight.

"So it hasn't started yet?" he asked.

"Stronger demons fight in different ways against the same of our kind. The first move hasn't started yet, in fact, it seems that Cabernet is waiting for the first attack with intent to kill." Sapphire said happily. "When the first attack comes, I'll have to put up a barrier around the entire coliseum." She smiled.

When Vergil fought against the Phenex Clan to "recover" Ada, the barriers were made by the organization itself. Not by the Demon Queens... That in itself showed that what would happen was on a completely different level and scale of power from what he had seen.

"Is this going to end quickly?" He asked, already getting a little anxious to see the fight. It was the first time he would get to see two Demon Queens fight.

"Probably the next attack will already be the first of the real fight." Sapphire laughed, leaning on the balcony of the VIP area.

"Hm... maybe it's worth seeing." He said, but still... 'Itharine, take the Wolf with you, patrol your surroundings... any suspicious sensations let me know immediately.'

'Yes. My Sovereign. She replied as his shadow stretched and leapt through the darkness, leaving his body.

Vergil took a deep breath, feeling the charged energy in the air. It was like being in the eye of a storm that hadn't started yet... but when it did, it would be catastrophic.

Downstairs, Raphaeline finally stopped playing.

The red aura that surrounded her brutally condensed around her, like a second glowing skin. Her eyes, once serene, now shone with a light that made the very ground tremble.

Cabernet, on the other hand, smiled lazily. His red hair waved like flames, and a scarlet mist crept over his feet, contaminating the ground around him with visible corruption.

The entire audience fell silent.

It was as if the world was holding its breath.

"It has begun," murmured Sapphire, her eyes shining with excitement as she slowly raised her hand, tracing circles of containment and reinforcement in the air. Black and ruddy lines expanded around the edges of the Colosseum, like living ribs of power.

Vergil crossed his arms, watching intently.

Then - Raphaeline disappeared.

It was so fast that, to any normal observer, it would have been like the blink of an eye. Just a burst of air, a red shadow cutting through space.

Cabernet moved backwards with supernatural elegance, dodging a blow that would have destroyed a mountain.

The impact that missed raised a wave of brute force that swept across half the arena, tearing huge stones from the ground like leaves.

The entire Colosseum roared - not with cheers, but with the structure itself screaming under the weight of the energy.

Vergil smiled slightly. "Now that's a real fight," he commented.

Stella, still holding her cup, just watched with half-closed eyes. "They're still testing their strength. When Raphaeline uses 'that' sword, then it'll get interesting."

Roxanne pulled up a chair next to Vergil and sat down elegantly. "We should have a bet on who will break first," she said casually.

"Cabernet, of course," Ada retorted fervently, raising her makeshift poster again. "Mom, go with everything!"

Vergil just laughed through his nose, the relaxed atmosphere contrasting absurdly with the miniature apocalypse unfolding before them.

Still, in the back of his mind, he maintained his absolute vigilance.

'If these two go all the way... could this whole dimension be destroyed?...' No, if it was Sapphire and Sepphirothy maybe...' thought Vergil, narrowing his eyes.
