My Young Husband, The Assasin

Chapter 17: With you

Saki's face was twisted in irritation all day long, and a cold, chilling aura radiated from her body. For a moment, her usual beauty—resembling a Greek goddess with her long blonde hair—transformed into something terrifying and menacing, like an Oni demon. Even Fujin, the fiercest chef here, didn't dare to ask or even greet Saki, let alone her other friends.

Saki's frustration stemmed from the black-haired young man with eyes as dark as night, her rival and enemy in maintaining her relationship with Issei—none other than Tetsuya Ishikawa.

Saki was still upset about what happened yesterday when Tetsuya ruined her date with Issei, even though it was rare for her boyfriend to agree to go to the movies. That pale-faced guy destroyed all the plans Saki had carefully arranged for the date.

"Arrggghh!!" Saki growled, gripping a wooden tray tightly.

If she ran into him today, she swore she would grab Tetsuya's hair and mess it up until it was unrecognizable. She was still furious with him, and her mood had been terrible all day, even causing her to take out her frustration on Issei.

The red-haired young man had been observing Saki's behavior from the kitchen, then glanced questioningly at the blonde-haired young man in a waiter's uniform. "Hey, Issei, what's wrong with Saki? Did you two fight again?" Ryuji asked, looking puzzled.

"No," Issei answered firmly.

"Then why has she looked so terrifying all day, like Medusa? Her gaze is deadly." Issei lowered his head, feeling down and confused about what to do, especially since Saki had ignored him.

"You should take action before someone else takes advantage of the situation between you two."

"You mean Arashi?"

"I don't know. Maybe even that young master Tetsuya could. As a man, you need to be firm and take action to make Saki feel secure and stop doubting your feelings for her. After all, Saki chased you and insisted on dating you. At the same time, you've always seemed indifferent," Ryuji advised, acting as if he were an expert on love, even though he was still single, claiming he hadn't found the right person or his Aphrodite yet.

Issei smiled briefly. "You're right. Maybe I haven't been showing my feelings enough to Saki," he said, reminiscing about their first meeting two years ago.

Ryuji gently patted Issei's shoulder. "I'll handle some orders for delivery. You two should talk privately, but not in the pantry," Ryuji warned, as a few days ago, Fujin had scolded him and Arashi for chatting in the pantry.

"Thank you."

"No big deal. Hurry up and sort things out." Issei listened to Ryuji's advice, which he thought was correct. Perhaps Saki's jealousy stemmed from his lack of assertiveness. Issei pulled Saki aside during work hours. Luckily, Ryuji and Arashi covered for them, taking over their tasks as a sign of loyalty.

"Saki," Issei called softly and gently into his lover's ear.

"Saki." Call Issei as gentle and gentle as possible in her lover's ear.

Saki's lips are still tightly sealed with a resentful expression, not wanting to answer at all and even throwing a reluctant look at Issei's face, which is so annoying today.

Sighing slowly, Issei closed her eyes to calm her heart, his head thinking hard, trying to calm down his lover's undying anger. "In what way should I not make you angry anymore?" Issei said in a desperate tone.

Saki's body was slowly pulled into an embrace and then held tightly. "I'm sorry," Issei said regretfully, gently stroking Saki's golden hair.

Saki's arms wrapped tightly around Issei's shoulders, burying her tear-streaked face in his broad chest. "Sob... Issei-kun," Saki whimpered.

Finally, Saki's defenses crumbled after holding them in for so long. Issei's presence was exactly what she needed right now, even though she was still upset. No matter how angry she was, Saki could never ignore Issei.

"Do you not love or like me anymore? Because I truly love my beautiful girlfriend and want to spend the rest of my life with her," he said sadly, ending his sentence with what sounded like a proposal.

A blush spread across Saki's cheeks, and a broad smile lit her face. "Is this a proposal?" Saki tilted her head, looking at Issei with a shy smile.

"What do you think?" Issei asked, pretending not to know what he had just said.

"I don't know," Saki teased.

"If I were proposing to you right now, what would your answer be?"

"There should have been a ring and a bouquet of roses when you proposed to me," Saki said, saying that she wanted to be proposed romantically.

"It's commonplace. I want something different so you can always remember it," said Issei, trying to find an excuse. "So what's your answer, honey?" he asked, returning to the subject.

"Let me think about it first," Saki said, tapping her finger on her chin as if deep in thought.

Issei smiled briefly. "Don't think too long because if you answer quickly, I'll still have time to try again."

"What if I reject you again? Will you still keep trying?"

"Of course, I'll do it as often as it takes until you accept me. Or would you rather see me with someone else?" he teased, earning a hard punch to his chest, though it didn't hurt.

"Idiot!" Saki shouted angrily.

Issei chuckled softly, then looked intently at Saki. "So, what's your answer, honey?"

Saki immediately hid her tomato-red face again. "Of course, I want to spend the rest of my life with you," Saki answered firmly, without hesitation, hugging Issei again with a wide smile. Issei smiled happily and with relief, though he had been confident that Saki would accept him from the start.

"I want to wear a beautiful wedding dress when I get married," Saki's thoughts drifted as she imagined wearing her dream wedding gown.

"Then you'll have to go on a diet," Issei teased, successfully making Saki protest loudly.

"I'm not fat."

"No, but you're chubby," Issei teased, poking her cute nose.

"Hmph!" Saki puffed out her cheeks, looking precisely like a pufferfish, and turned her face away.

Issei laughed happily, enjoying teasing Saki because it was so fun to make his beautiful girlfriend angry, as she showed so many expressions.

"No matter what, I'll always love you," he said lovingly, successfully making Saki's anger disappear and replacing it with happiness.

"Me too," Saki replied, hugging her lover again. They remained in each other's arms for a moment as if the world belonged only to them and no one else was around.

"Still mad?" Issei asked, breaking the silence and releasing his embrace.

"A little," Saki answered.

Issei pinched Saki's cheek playfully, eliciting a protest and a cry of pain from her lips. "That hurts, Issei-kun."

"Let's get back to work. We'll continue this conversation with your parents later," Issei said, offering his hand.

"Hmm," Saki nodded quickly, her face beaming with happiness.

Tokyo's night scene was beautiful and lively. People were still bustling around the streets of the city center, enjoying the city's beauty, as Tokyo was also known as the city that never sleeps.

Pedestrians, especially women, couldn't help but glance admiringly at Renji, stealing glances discreetly or even openly, smiling flirtatiously and teasing as they passed him.

This wasn't strange or new for Renji, as girls had always acted this way around him since he was a child. Their reactions weren't excessive or unusual, as Renji's face was undeniably handsome, far above average. His looks could even rival the popular idols from the land of ginseng (Korea), who were currently a hit among Japanese youth, especially teenage girls.

While Renji remained indifferent and unfazed, the black-haired woman beside him didn't like the attention and even seemed jealous. Her arm wrapped possessively around Renji's, silently proclaiming that he was hers and that she would soon become a mother.

Renji furrowed his brows in confusion. "Are you tired, Aira?" he asked worriedly.

"Ah~ no," she answered nervously.

"If you're tired of walking, I can carry you."

"No need, I'm still strong. I want to cling to you like this. Is that not allowed?" Aira glanced at him.

"Of course, it's allowed," Renji replied with a smile.

Tonight, the two of them had gone out to eat after a previous argument, as Aira had suddenly whined about wanting to eat ramen at Nami Ramen, the shop they had visited some time ago. Just like last time, they walked to the shop.

The atmosphere inside the shop was quite lively. Aira and Renji sat in the same seats they had occupied before, whether by coincidence or fate.

After waiting for about ten minutes, the waitress came over with two large bowls of ramen, a plate of gyoza, and hot green tea. "Here's your order. Please enjoy your meal."

"Thank you." Aira eagerly grabbed the chopsticks next to her bowl, impatient to dig into the delicious-looking ramen.

"Slow down, it's still hot, Aira."

Before eating, Aira blew on the noodles on her chopsticks, and once they felt calm enough, she took a bite. "Hm... delicious!" she exclaimed happily.

Renji was wiping the leftover broth around Aira's mouth with a tissue. "Why aren't you eating? Instead, you're busy taking care of me, Renji-kun."

"I'm eating the gyoza."

"That's not enough to fill you up." Aira fed Renji some of her noodles.

"How is it? Tasty?"

"Yes, it's delicious."

"Do you want more?" Aira offered again.

"Sure, if you feed me," Renji replied half-teasingly.

"Tsk! So spoiled," Aira teased, pouting.

"Is it wrong to be spoiled by my wife?"

"Of course not. No one's stopping you."

However, just as they enjoyed their time together, Renji's phone rang loudly, interrupting their dinner. Annoyance filled his heart as Renji reluctantly pulled his phone out of his pocket.

"Shiro?!" Renji thought, confused, as it was unusual for the white-haired man to contact him, especially at this hour, unless it was urgent.

"I'll step out for a moment. Wait here and don't go anywhere, Aira."

"Hmm..." Aira nodded obediently. Renji stepped outside the shop to speak more freely.

"What is it, Shiro?" Renji asked with a serious expression.

("Forgive me for interrupting your time, but there's something important I need to report.")

"Speak quickly," Renji said impatiently.

("Earlier this afternoon, Miss Keiko came to the office looking for you. But when she found out you weren't there, she threw a tantrum and said she would wait until you arrived.")

Renji rubbed his forehead. "Please handle this for now. If she still refuses to leave the office, contact Mizuki to deal with her," Renji instructed.

("But didn't you send Mizuki to Dubai with the others?")

"Ah~ I forgot. Then, hold her off for a while. I'll contact Tetsuya to handle it."

("Understood, Renji-sama.") After quickly ending the call, Renji sighed heavily, massaging his temples, which had suddenly started throbbing.
