My Young Husband, The Assasin

Chapter 19: Revenge plan

Renji breathed a sigh of relief when the hospital doctor who examined Aira said that both she and the baby in her womb were in good condition. Aira needed plenty of rest, no heavy work, a healthy, fiber-rich diet, and enough water.

The hospital doctor who examined Aira was initially surprised by this young couple, especially given Renji's young age and status as a high school student. This was especially true when Renji casually and without hesitation mentioned that Aira was his wife, not his girlfriend or older sister.

After being examined by the doctor and given a vitamin prescription, the two went home. However, Aira had fallen asleep in the car, likely due to exhaustion, as pregnant women tend to tire and feel sleepy quickly. Renji's driver and trusted confidant, Fujita, came to pick them up after being contacted.

"Did something happen to the young lady?" Fujita asked, starting the conversation.

"I don't want to talk about it because it makes me angry again," Renji replied coldly.

"My apologies, young master," Fujita said regretfully.

"It's fine, it's not your fault." In less than fifteen minutes, Renji arrived at his apartment, with Fujita following behind and even opening the door for him.

After laying Aira on the bed and covering her chest with a blanket, Renji didn't leave immediately. He was still sitting on the side of the bed, looking lovingly at Aira's sleeping face.

His hand gently wiped the traces of tears on Aira's cheeks. "I will repay them many times over. Sweet dreams, sweetheart." The kiss on Aira's forehead was loving.

Closing the bedroom door softly, Renji strolled to the living room where Fujita was still waiting.

"Take a seat, Fujita."

"Thank you, young master."

Renji propped his feet up on the table, crossing his arms. What he was doing might have seemed impolite, especially in front of Fujita, who was older than him. However, the orange-haired man didn't mind, especially since Renji's status was far above his.

"Any news from Mizuki?" Renji asked while massaging his temples.

"Not yet, young master. They haven't found the person you're looking for," Fujita replied cautiously, aware that the young master's mood was foul.

"Find that woman quickly before Oyaji does. And as for Keiko, please arrange temporary accommodation for her. There's a big clan meeting next week."

"I'll take care of it, young master."

"Good. Now, go and get some rest."

"Then I'll take my leave. Good night, young master." Fujita bowed respectfully before leaving.

Renji remained seated on the sofa, his feet still on the table, his head tilted back as he stared at the ivory-white ceiling. His mind was in turmoil, filled with thoughts about work, his responsibilities as a student, and other external issues. Now, Kairo and his wife's actions had added to his worries, causing Aira to cry and nearly harming the baby in her womb due to stress and pressure.

Although Renji was still in his teens, not yet twenty, one should not underestimate or take lightly this young man. Deep down, Renji was cruel, sadistic, and merciless toward his enemies or anyone who disrupted his life or stood in his way.

If Renji hated someone, he would crush them to the bone. That's precisely what he planned to do to Kairo and Mika.

He would make them kneel and beg for mercy and forgiveness from Aira. He would make them realize who Aira was now—no longer a weak woman anyone could trample on.

"Wait for my surprise, Kairo Kenzaki," Renji hissed with a cruel grin.

Saki's face showed clear annoyance as she listened to Aira's story about her encounter with Kairo and Mika, who had hurt and betrayed her.

"Where did you meet?" Saki asked with great curiosity.

"At a ramen shop."

"If only I had been there, I would have yanked that cotton candy-like hair of hers until it was a mess," Saki huffed in annoyance.

"Do you have any other moves besides pulling people's hair?" Tetsuya suddenly chimed in during their conversation. Tetsuya casually sat next to Aira, not forgetting to flash his signature fake smile on his handsome face.

Saki let out a soft sigh upon seeing her arch-nemesis arrive. "Don't meddle in women's business, pale face," Saki grumbled irritably.

Tetsuya propped his chin on his hand, staring at Saki intently. "How about I teach you a move or two for fighting?" Tetsuya offered, trying to help Saki

"The things you hold every day are paintbrushes and oil paints. Are you trying to teach me how to fight or paint?" Saki mocked Tetsuya's abilities.

"Both would be fine. Consider adding to your skills besides yanking people's hair," Tetsuya replied casually.

"None of your business!" Saki turned her face away, annoyed by Tetsuya's presence and wondering why he had to join and ruin the mood.

"Enough. Why are you two fighting?" Aira intervened.

"We're not fighting, just chatting like usual between rivals. Right, ugly girl?" Tetsuya said, grinning widely at Saki.

"Call me ugly one more time, and I'll stretch your lips so they're as long as Pinocchio's nose," Saki threatened.

"Can you do that? That's new to me," Tetsuya said, looking both surprised and curious.

"Of course I can," Saki replied confidently.

"Then use Issei's lips to pull them so it won't hurt," Tetsuya said with a mischievous smile.

Saki immediately hit Tetsuya's head with a tray. "Fuck!" cried Saki.

"It hurts! Ugly girl!" cried Tetsuya.

"I don't care!" Saki answered while sticking out his tongue and went to the kitchen to get back to work.

"Seriously," Tetsuya murmured while stroking his head that might have been a lump. However, he soon chuckled softly, feeling amused by Saki's irritation. Teasing the blonde girl was surprisingly fun, especially since her reactions were so different from other girls he'd met. Saki's attitude was completely natural, not fake at all. She even dared to hit him without fear of retaliation.

"Don't tease her too much, or you might end up falling for her," Aira teased.

Tetsuya's body shivered in horror, and he firmly stated that he had no interest in Saki whatsoever. He just enjoyed teasing her because he found her an interesting plaything, nothing more. His feelings, of course, were still for Issei. He wouldn't shift his affections to anyone else, as he was loyal.

Aira smiled slightly, seeing Tetsuya's funny expression and strong denial of falling for Saki. He seemed to forget that love could come at any time, like a gust of wind—unseen but deeply felt.

"Let's not talk about her anymore. By the way, I heard you met Kairo and Mika yesterday?"

"We accidentally met at Nami Ramen," Aira explained, recounting the events of last night and how they ended up crossing paths again.

"No wonder chicken-butt was so angry this morning, asking me to do something about Kairo's company."

"What do you mean?"

"It's not important, don't worry about it. By the way, how's the baby?" Tetsuya asked, trying to change the subject.

Aira gently rubbed her slightly bulging belly, covered by her blouse. "The doctor said our baby is developing well. And by the way, Saki accidentally saw you entering the doctor's room for a check-up at the hospital."

"Really?" Tetsuya asked eagerly.

"Yes, and I accidentally told her about your condition."

"She must have laughed happily, thinking my life won't last much longer," Tetsuya guessed confidently.

"No. Saki cried, feeling sad and sorry for your situation," Aira replied, shattering Tetsuya's assumption that Saki would be happy about his illness.

Tetsuya was stunned for a moment, then looked at Aira suspiciously. "You're not trying to lie to me by making up stories, are you?"

"Of course not. Even though Saki acts that way toward you, she's a good girl and not mean at all."

Tetsuya fell silent for a long time. He pondered Aira's words, feeling strangely unsettled by the blonde girl who had somehow started to bother him.

'What's wrong with me?' Tetsuya thought, confused.
