Chapter 8: Chapter 8
Tsunade—the granddaughter of the First Hokage, Hashirama Senju.
One of the Legendary Sannin, alongside Jiraiya and Orochimaru.
Known for her fierce personality, her explosive temper, and her brute strength—easily the most feared woman in Konoha.
A notorious gambling addict, infamous for losing every bet, earning her the nickname "The Legendary Sucker" among gamblers.
And in the original story, decades later—after Hiruzen Sarutobi's death—she would go on to become the Fifth Hokage.
However, for most fans of Naruto, these facts weren't the most important thing about her.
What really made Tsunade legendary was… her figure.
Wait… Tsunade is Kushina Uzumaki's aunt?!
Haruto Saito wasn't sure.
The original manga never explicitly mentioned such a connection.
But—it wasn't impossible.
After all, Tsunade did have Uzumaki blood.
Her grandmother was Uzumaki Mito, and Kushina came from the Uzumaki clan.
So, by family ties, it wasn't wrong to call Tsunade "aunt," even if they weren't directly related.
"Tsunade, huh…" Haruto muttered, before suddenly asking,
"What year is it now?"
"It's six-thirty in the morning," Shenhe replied.
"No, no, I don't mean the time of day—I mean what year is it?"
"You don't even remember that?"
"Nope."
"It's Year 32 of the Hidden Leaf Calendar. April."
"Year 32…" Haruto whispered to himself.
Tsunade was born in Year 10—so she should be 22 years old now.
Kushina was born in Year 24—so she's only 8.
The Second Great Ninja War will fully break out this year.
Hiruzen Sarutobi is currently at his peak—just turning 40.
This was a dangerous time.
"Let's go," Shenhe interrupted, scanning Haruto, who had finally dressed properly. "I'll take you to where you'll be living."
A New Home
By dawn, the Hidden Leaf Village had come to life.
The once silent streets were now filled with laughter and chatter.
Merchants had set up their shops, calling out to early customers.
Vendors pushed their carts, selling breakfast.
Villagers haggled over prices, while groups of shinobi—young and old—moved through the marketplace, preparing for their daily missions.
As Haruto walked alongside Shenhe, he couldn't help but notice something.
People were staring at him.
And whispering.
"Look at that kid—his eyes!"
"Two different colors… how strange."
"Strange? I think it looks cool."
"It's unnatural."
"Who is he? He's with an ANBU officer… Is he a new Konoha ninja?"
Haruto quickly realized two things.
First—his heterochromatic eyes made him impossible to ignore.
If people kept noticing him, the fact that he was originally a Rain ninja would spread fast.
Second—ANBU members were highly respected.
Even shinobi with far higher reputation scores would step aside to make way for Shenhe.
Leaving the crowded streets, they entered a wooded trail outside the village center.
"You won't be able to hide your past for long," Shenhe finally spoke again.
"For now, you'll be living alone. We will have people protecting you from the shadows."
"'Protecting' me?" Haruto's eyebrows twitched.
He understood.
This wasn't just protection—it was surveillance.
"You'll need to take care of your own meals. Try to avoid conflict—your identity will make you a target. You need to endure it for now.
It won't take long.
Once you've proven yourself and made enough contributions—you'll truly become one of us."
By the time Shenhe finished speaking, they had reached their destination.
At the end of the path, a clearing appeared.
A small lake stretched out before them.
Next to the lake, nestled among the trees—was a simple wooden house.
"This is it," Shenhe said, stopping in front of the house.
"This is where you'll be staying.
Basic supplies have already been prepared.
The lake is connected to an underground river, so the water is always fresh.
You can use it for drinking, washing, and bathing."
As he spoke, Shenhe reached into his cloak and pulled out a small pouch, handing it to Haruto.
"Your monthly living allowance.
Consider it aid.
I'll bring you more every month—for the next year."
Haruto opened the pouch.
Inside were several metal coins and two banknotes.
In the original Naruto timeline, banks existed—but that was around Year 60.
Right now, in Year 32, the banking system was still primitive.
Haruto had no idea how valuable this money actually was.
"I'm leaving now. Good luck."
Shenhe turned around and walked away.
Haruto watched his retreating figure, his eyes flickering with thoughts.
Then, he turned back toward his new home.
As he stepped inside, he heard the door creak shut behind him.
Out in the forest, Shenhe glanced back once.
Then, he formed a hand seal—and vanished.
Hidden in the Shadows
One hundred meters away, deep in the forest canopy.
Shenhe reappeared, standing on a thick tree branch.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Five dark figures leaped from the shadows—landing beside him.
"Sir!" they greeted in unison.
"You, you, you, and you—monitor him," Shenhe ordered swiftly.
"You two—start spreading the news."
"Yes, sir!"
In an instant, the five vanished.
Shenhe turned his gaze back toward Haruto's cabin, his masked eyes unreadable.
A long sigh escaped his lips.
Then, he formed another seal—and disappeared.
The Whispering Village
April 15, Year 32—
Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Third Hokage, officially restarted the Defection Recruitment Plan.
And Haruto Saito—a former enemy shinobi—was its first step.
By mid-morning, the news spread like wildfire.
Though no one dared to oppose the Hokage's decision…
Almost no one believed it would succeed.
This wasn't the first time Konoha had attempted this plan.
And every time before—it had ended in failure.
Why?
Because ninja who defected to Konoha had blood on their hands.
They had killed Konoha shinobi.
Which meant—not only were they hunted by their old villages…
But even within Konoha itself—they were targets.
In the Hyuga Compound
That same afternoon—inside a private dojo deep within the Hyuga Clan estate.
The sound of bare feet slamming against the floor echoed through the hall.
A young man, dressed in traditional white martial robes, moved like lightning—his legs striking like whips, his fists hitting with crushing force.
He was training alone.
Surrounding the dojo—twelve Hyuga clan warriors stood in silent respect, watching the young man's every move.
Suddenly—
Whoosh!
A tall, lean ninja appeared at the entrance, kneeling on one knee.
"Lord Hizashi!"
The young Hyuga warrior stopped his training, exhaled slowly, and turned to face him.
"What is it?"
"The boy who killed Hyuga Kaiyo—he has been released by ANBU."
"The Hokage has decided… to make him a Leaf shinobi."
Hyuga Hizashi's expression darkened.
His fist clenched tightly.
"…Kill him."
"Have Anan do it."
"I want his corpse hanging from the village gates within three days."
"Yes, sir."
The ninja vanished.
