Chapter 8: Fiancée
Forks and spoons clattered loudly as Onochi and his family dined in the Dukukuro patriarch's dining room.
As the three ate, a topic was suddenly brought up by Tetsubo, "Onochi, it's time for you to meet your fiancée."
Onochi's spoon froze mid-air, shocked by the sudden drop of that bombshell. His eyes widened as he stared at Tetsubo, struggling to process the words. "My... fiancée?" he finally managed to say, his voice barely above a whisper.
Tetsubo nodded and continued, "You're fiancée is an important figure in the Land of Wind. She is the 6th daughter of the Daimyo."
"S-Since when was she my fiancée?"
"Since birth." His mother joined with a bitter smile.
Onochi's mother understood the situation her family is in, as she was also promised to Tetsubo when they were young.
Onochi furrowed his brow and was about to speak, but was quickly cut off by his father, "You cannot say no to this, Onochi. Right now, we are surrounded by all the powerhouse in the Land of Wind. Without this alliance, we would face utter destruction."
Currently, the Dukukuro is surrounded by the powerhouses and the Hoku clan. And nearly all of them, except the Kirikusa clan, are hostile towards the Dukukuro clan. Furthermore, with the continuous war, many of the younger generation and the skilled ninjas have died off. With the greatest example being the Uncle of Onochi.
Onochi could not even speak before his father started speaking once more, "You are also the only child we have. If we die, and something were to happen to you, the clan would fall apart. This isn't a choice. It might be hard to accept, but it is the reality."
Onochi contemplated for a few minutes and finally sighed. Although annoying, he had no choice. And besides, it was just a diplomatic marriage.
Even in his past life, he didn't pursue romance or love. Having kids to him was just that, having kids. There were no feelings to it as he had never felt love or experienced romance.
Onochi sighed and spoke, "When will I meet her?"
"Next week. We will leave when the sun rises." Said Tutsubo.
-1 week later-
Onochi POV
I opened the door to the carriage with annoyance in my eyes. Although I have already accepted the fact that I'm basically being sold off, it is still fairly annoying that I have to meet my fiancée who I have never even seen. What's more, mother told me she was my age, so around 7-9.
"A literal child," I growled angrily.
As I stepped inside the carriage, I was met with the white eyes of my mother. She heard me growling and quickly reprimanded me. She took my ear and forcefully pulled, "Stop mumbling to yourself and get inside!"
"Ow, ow! I'm sorry!"
I got inside the carriage and asked mother, "Why can't we just run and jump around? We're ninjas."
I already knew the answer, I was just making small talks. The banquet we're going to is a nobility banquet. Where the nobles and businessmen gather.
Mother spoke in a joking tone, "You can't even last 5 minutes sticking to a tree, let alone travel for 3 days non-stop."
I laughed at the joke as I have already mastered tree climbing. I can stay on a tree for more than an hour. And not only that, I have also learned four wind style ninjutsu with the help of my clones.
I haven't wasted the past week. Many things have happened. My grandpa came back, but was heavily injured and could not meet me. I have learned 4 wind style ninjutsu and I started working on a new ninjutsu, puppetry.
When I said I just started working on it, I literally meant that. Right now, I only have basic information about puppetry, how they work and what's their use. I don't have a specific idea on how to make a puppet and how to control it.
For now, I'm learning craftsmanship from our clan's craftsmen. I need to further research on how to create chakra threads. Creating chakra threads was far harder than the shadow clone, as it wasn't mentioned in the anime or manga —-If it was mentioned, I would have forgotten about it.
Another week passed and we finally made it to the Capital of the Land of Wind.
The capital wasn't as grand as I had thought. I would have thought the capital was brimming with life and markets. But the capital felt like a normal village, with the exception of a gigantic mansion in the middle of the Capital.
Although it looked like a village, it was still far bigger and wealthier than our clan, or any clan. There were countless ninjas roaming around the capital, and many of the houses were bigger than our house.
As me and mother got off the carriage, a ninja appeared in front of us. He bowed slightly and said, "Please, come with me. Lord Daimyo has been waiting for you."
The man led the way, however, we quickly stopped as my mother saw a familiar face.
It was an old man, around 70-75. He had wrinkles all over his face, and a scar was etched in his right eye. The man wore a white kimono and a katana on his waist. But the most intriguing part of him was his eyes. The old man's eyes looked just like mine. It was pure wine with a chilling front every time it stares at you.
My mom's face beamed with a smile and ran towards the man, hugging him tightly.
"Uncle Hyo!"
The man chuckled and said, "You're not a kid anymore Ayaze!"
Mother chuckled and let the man go. As soon as my mother let go of him, our eyes met.
"You must be Onochi. I've heard many things about you-"
Before Hyo could finish, a loud voice came from afar.
"Old man Hyo! Where are you?!"
Hyo visibly had dark lines on his face. He sighed and looked towards his left, "I'm here, young miss."
"Young miss? I questioned.
Hearing the voice, the little girl ran and I finally got a glimpse of her. She had purple hair with a purple kimono. Everything about her screamed nobility, but from her mannerism and… Fat physique.
She was holding a small bag that was filled with sweets. She was wearing a necklace with diamonds all over it, and her crown was made of pure cold.
"Where did you go, old man?! You we're supposed to help me get more snacks, remember?!" Yelled the little fat girl
Hyo chuckled dryly and said, "I'm sorry young miss, but I was called by your father.
The young girl sighed and lowered her head. After she was done sulking, and brought her head up and our eyes met. Her eyes were also purple.
'What is up with her and purple?' I thought to myself.
As our eyes stared at each other, she spoke, "Who's this ghosted eyed freak?"
Veins bulge on my forehead. I barked back and said, "And who's this fat kid?"
Her face turned red as she yelled,
"Fat?! I'm big boned!"

Hello readers!
Some of you might be wondering why the story is going so fast. That's because the child arc is boring and I already have plans, but making him do those plans just won't make sense as a kid.
I'm making this arc for this foundation and for the story to make sense. I hope yall stick with me for a while hahahaha.
