Chapter 121: Chapter 121: The Knockoff Six Paths Family
"Yagyu-kun…"
Yagyu had just landed from mid-air when the ice sword in his hand turned to ice flakes and disappeared. His entire body emanated waves of blue energy as he walked toward Shion, exuding an intense sense of pressure.
However, to Shion, this presence only brought her a deep sense of security.
As she opened her mouth, ready to speak, Yagyu suddenly rolled up his sleeve, extended his forearm toward her, and said, "Shion, bite down on my arm—make sure to bite hard."
"Huh? Why?" Shion instinctively asked.
"No questions, hurry."
"Yes!"
Intimidated by Yagyu's stern tone, Shion quickly parted her lips, gently biting his pale forearm without applying much pressure, looking up at him like a curious kitten.
"Bite harder, it's fine," Yagyu encouraged with a smile.
Without replying, Shion slowly increased the pressure.
"Mm…"
The next second, Shion's beautiful eyes widened in surprise.
The blue energy emanating from Yagyu began to fade, transferring over to Shion.
Not long after, the bell hanging from the collar of Shion's priestess robes began to shine with a bright white light.
This white light swiftly spread across her body.
Crack!
Suddenly, the bell shattered.
The blue energy on Shion's body was instantly absorbed by the white light, transforming into a radiant glow that illuminated the cave, turning the darkness into daylight.
Shion released her bite on Yagyu's arm as her body was lifted into the air by the white light.
Yagyu stepped back, watching Shion's transformation in silence.
Her tea-colored hair turned golden at a visible pace.
Black streaks, similar to the curse-like marks on Kōrō after being corrupted by Moryo, appeared on Shion's face and neck.
The holy white light gradually gathered above her head, forming a halo similar to an angel's, though hers stood vertically rather than horizontally.
Since childhood, Shion's priestess powers had been steadily growing. With the bell's seal now broken, and Moryo's essence integrated as pure spiritual energy, Shion achieved what no priestess before her had—reunifying Moryo and the priestess powers into their original, strongest form.
At this moment, Shion was immensely powerful!
This power wasn't about sheer destruction or combat ability.
Like Yagyu's Sage Chakra, Shion's chakra had a unique, angelic quality, naturally aligned against darkness and evil. Given that priestess powers were intended for sealing away malevolent forces, this special chakra would likely amplify her sealing techniques tremendously.
Such pure and holy energy would also greatly enhance medical ninjutsu, much like Yagyu's Yang Power.
Sage Mode was achieved by merging natural energy with chakra.
Likewise, Shion's new form could be called Priestess Mode.
As the radiant white light formed the halo above her head, Shion slowly floated back to the ground, still emitting a gentle glow.
This form somewhat resembled Naruto's golden chakra mode or the Tenseigan Chakra Mode of Toneri Ōtsutsuki, though with different colors and a softer glow.
Yagyu wondered what kind of existence the original priestess was to wield such an incredible power—one strong enough to split into two halves, surviving unbroken for a thousand years, similar to the chakra of Asura and Indra.
Reflecting on this, Yagyu couldn't help but feel amused.
In that sense, this storyline seemed like a knockoff version of the Six Paths saga.
Shion was like a knockoff Hinata, while Moryo and the priestess were the knockoff versions of Indra and Asura, respectively. Once reunited, they formed the original priestess, essentially a knockoff of the Six Paths Sage.
It was an ultimate knockoff!
As Yagyu was mentally poking fun at this, Shion, still in her Priestess Mode, slowly opened her eyes.
Her purple eyes, now with a blue-purple floral pattern like her prophetic visions, exuded an air of dignity.
The white light around her and the halo on her head lent her a divine presence.
However, this divinity faded almost as quickly as it appeared.
Shion stared at Yagyu for a few seconds before the white light and halo dissipated into particles, and her golden hair returned to its tea-colored hue.
"Thank you, Yagyu-kun."
In her regular form again, Shion immediately flung herself into Yagyu's arms, hugging his waist tightly as she said, "Thank you for granting me this power!"
Unaware that her power had been sealed by the bell since childhood and that Moryo and the priestess were originally one, Shion believed that Yagyu had bestowed this strength upon her.
Yagyu didn't correct her, simply patting her gently on the back and saying, "Congratulations on breaking the curse binding the priestess and Moryo across generations. Shion, from now on, you control your destiny."
"Yes!"
Shion buried her face into Yagyu's chest and nodded firmly.
Simultaneously, a surge of emotion filled her, prompting her to speak to Yagyu.
But just then, Yagyu suddenly pulled away, saying, "Although Moryo's spirit is gone, the Ghost Legion outside hasn't disappeared. Shion, can you seal them?"
"Yes, leave it to me!"
Shion nodded confidently, smiling. "From now on, the Ghost Legion will never rise again."
With that, she led Yagyu to the altar.
The white light flared again, and Shion re-entered Priestess Mode.
Raising her right hand, she performed a series of hand seals, causing a purple sealing array to appear beneath her feet.
A transparent purple barrier rose around the altar.
Creak!
The sound of a door opening echoed as a stone box on the altar opened, releasing a thick, purple sludge that oozed out, writhing as if alive.
This was Moryo's physical form.
Though his spirit was gone, this body, formed from negative emotions or some unknown dark energy, was still alive.
"Rest in eternal sleep, undead creature…"
With a soft voice, Shion raised her hand toward the writhing purple sludge. The halo above her head glowed intensely as she commanded, "Evil source, I purify you in the name of the priestess!"
A dense cluster of photons gathered in her hand, transforming into a sacred white chakra that enveloped the sludge, which attempted to flee even without its spirit.
Sizzle…
Encased in the holy light, the purple sludge rapidly evaporated, soon purified completely by Shion's priestess power.
Simultaneously, outside the cave, the undead puppets and Ghost Legion scattered across the Land of Demons abruptly stopped moving.
Moments later, they crumbled to dust like the terracotta warriors.
"It seems Yagyu was successful,"
Kurenai Yuhi, having been urgently summoned back, stood with Team 8 and the other girls, watching the disappearing Ghost Legion with a relieved smile.
