Chapter 218: Chapter 216: Reinforcements

Chapter 216: Reinforcements

Tsukuyomi!

With Baishi so close, Uchiha Itachi had no time to hesitate.

Regardless of whether his mental strength was enough, he activated his left-eye Mangekyō Sharingan ability—Tsukuyomi.

Baishi had been eager to test the effects of Mental Fortress after evolving it to Level II (30%).

Thus, when he realized Itachi was initiating Tsukuyomi, he did not resist.

He allowed himself to be dragged into the illusionary world.

Within the Tsukuyomi Realm

Baishi glanced around at the distorted scenery, speaking to himself with mild curiosity.

"So this is the Tsukuyomi world?"

His voice carried curiosity and intrigue—but no fear.

Even though he was currently suspended in midair, bound by heavy chains, his tone remained calm.

Tick-tock… tick-tock…

A rhythmic, clock-like ticking sound echoed through the still air, exerting immense psychological pressure.

Seconds passed, turning into minutes.

Baishi's curiosity gradually shifted to disappointment.

After a while, he lifted his head and called out,

"Itachi, stop hiding. Come out."

Silence.

Baishi let out a cold chuckle.

"You really think you can trap me in here?"

Still no response.

"Very well."

Baishi's voice grew colder as he flexed his muscles.

With one effortless motion, he snapped the chains binding him and landed on the ground.

The moment his feet touched the ground, a massive crucifix appeared behind him, attempting to bind him again.

Baishi's face darkened.

His body suddenly expanded, growing into a colossal giant, dwarfing the landscape.

Normally, everything in the Tsukuyomi realm was under Itachi's absolute control.

However, there was one exception: If the target's mental strength was overwhelming, they could defy the illusion's restrictions.

And Baishi did just that.

He reached out with both hands, grabbed the air itself, and tore the entire dimension apart.

Reality

A pained grunt echoed nearby.

Baishi turned his head and saw Itachi staggering, his face pale, eyes unfocused.

His ANBU mask had fallen to the ground at some point.

Clearly, Baishi's brute-force break from Tsukuyomi had inflicted heavy backlash on him.

"You… how do you know about Tsukuyomi?"

Itachi struggled to remain standing, his voice strained.

Baishi blinked.

Then he remembered—he had called out the name of the technique upon entering the illusion.

A moment of awkwardness flickered across his face.

"Did I just slip up?"

He exhaled.

"Whatever. It doesn't matter."

His strength had grown to the point where he no longer needed to be as cautious as before.

If anything, having inside knowledge could be used to his advantage at times.

But now was not the time for explanations.

He needed to finish off Itachi quickly—Kakashi's group was still a loose end.

Just as Baishi was about to move—

A pair of enormous three-tomoe Sharingan suddenly filled his vision.

"Hmm?"

Before he could react, his mind wavered.

When he regained clarity—Itachi was gone.

Baishi's gaze shifted to a golden-haired man standing where Itachi had been.

He narrowed his eyes.

"Minato Namikaze?"

Yes—the Fourth Hokage himself, Konoha's Yellow Flash, had just arrived.

And he had spirited Itachi away in an instant.

Baishi's gaze then turned toward the forest behind Minato.

Light footsteps echoed.

A young man emerged—a Konoha Jōnin, wearing an elite flak jacket.

His Sharingan gleamed with six tomoe, and a strange calm confidence radiated from him.

Baishi recognized him immediately.

"Uchiha Shisui."

His expression turned serious.

Not because Shisui was physically intimidating, but because—

Shisui had not yet used Kotoamatsukami.

Baishi's mental strength was immense.

Even so, he did not know whether he could fully resist the most powerful genjutsu of the Uchiha clan.

And Minato—

Baishi recalled what had just happened.

He had only been briefly hypnotized by Shisui.

Yet in that fraction of a second, Minato had already teleported in, snatched Itachi, and repositioned himself without making a sound.

"So fast…"

Baishi fully understood why Minato was called the Yellow Flash.

Just as Baishi was deciding his next move—

A faint spatial ripple appeared.

A towering figure with spiky white hair stepped forward.

Wearing a forehead protector with the kanji for "oil" (油), the man exuded a calm but imposing aura.

"Jiraiya."

Baishi instantly figured out how he had arrived.

"Flying Thunder God: Formation…"

He already knew that Konoha had several Flying Thunder God users:

Genma Shiranui

Raido Namiashi

Iwagama Tetsuya

With these three supporting Minato, Konoha could continuously teleport reinforcements.

Baishi was confident in his strength.

But even he had no intention of wasting time fighting an endless stream of Konoha elites.

Moreover—

Konoha had trump cards.

Techniques like Reaper Death Seal could put him in serious danger if he wasn't careful.

He took a deep breath.

"I haven't lost anything from this fight."

Weighing the risks, Baishi decided to withdraw.

However—

Shisui noticed his hesitation immediately.

Without a word, he launched a genjutsu attack at Baishi.

Minato and Jiraiya, both seasoned warriors, didn't even need a signal.

The moment Shisui acted—they attacked as well.

In an instant, Minato teleported in front of Baishi, a Rasengan spinning in his palm, aimed directly at his head.

Boom!

But—

A blue glow flashed around Baishi's body.

The Rasengan stopped less than an inch from his forehead.

Minato's eyes widened.

"A Tailed Beast Chakra Cloak?"

No—

He corrected himself.

"No, it's just a technique mimicking the real thing… like Rasengan itself."

"If that's the case…"

"A strong enough attack should break through it."

Before he could continue—

Jiraiya's assault arrived.

Jiraiya had seen Minato's attack fail.

Without hesitation, he switched to close combat.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

A barrage of punches and kicks landed against Baishi's chakra armor, causing ripples to form—but no damage.

Baishi had designed this cloak to withstand both ninjutsu and taijutsu below a certain threshold.

As long as the attack didn't exceed that limit, it couldn't harm him.

At that moment—

Baishi shattered Shisui's genjutsu.

His hand shot forward, grabbing Jiraiya's leg—

And hurled him away like a ragdoll.

"What?"

Minato's body flickered, retreating in an instant.

His afterimage was shattered by Baishi's next attack.

Baishi turned toward where Minato had retreated.

There—

A three-pronged kunai was embedded in the ground.

A Flying Thunder God seal.

Minato had already repositioned himself—preparing for the next strike.

Baishi's eyes narrowed.

This battle… wasn't going to be easy.
