Chapter 224: Roadblock (Part 2)

Not far from the battlefield, Sasori suddenly stopped in his tracks.

Seeing this, Deidara frowned and asked, "What is it, Sasori-senpai?"

Sasori lifted his head, gazing at the low-hanging clouds above the forest.

After a long pause, he shook his head.

"It's nothing."

With that, he continued controlling Hiruko and moved forward.

But Deidara wasn't convinced.

Sliding his hand into his clay pouch, the mouth in his palm opened wide, tearing off a chunk of clay before chewing it thoroughly.

After a few seconds, he spat out a tiny bird-shaped clay figure, infused with his own chakra.

Without hesitation, Deidara molded it into a small bird and let it fly.

He made no effort to hide his actions, and Sasori, likewise, made no attempt to stop him.

Above the Clouds

Baishi remained hovering in the sky, observing the battle unfold below.

Kakuzu had already unleashed his secret technique—Earth Grudge Fear, transforming into a monstrous puppet of stitched-together hearts as he clashed with the Fourth Raikage.

At first, Kakuzu's five-element ninjutsu combination had put A at a disadvantage.

But the moment A activated his Lightning Chakra Cloak, he instantly gained the upper hand.

His overwhelming speed and raw strength made it nearly impossible for Kakuzu to keep him restrained with ninjutsu alone.

Worse still, A launched sudden, devastating attacks on Kakuzu's main body whenever he found an opening.

Had it not been for Kakuzu's mastery of Earth Release, which allowed him to harden his body's density, he would have already been crushed by A's sheer brute force.

For now, neither side could take the upper hand.

But Hidan's side was a different story.

With Killer Bee and Darui entering the fight, Hidan was completely outmatched.

Compared to ordinary shinobi, Hidan was undeniably strong—his deadly Curse Technique: Death Controlling Possessed Blood made him a lethal one-on-one killer.

However, against Killer Bee—a master swordsman—Hidan couldn't gain any advantage at all.

Baishi instantly recognized it as Deidara's work.

He was about to destroy it, but then—he hesitated.

Instead of interfering, he erased his presence, allowing the bird to survey the area freely.

"No need to stir up unnecessary trouble."

After all, he was here to observe—not start a fight.

On the Ground

In the forest below, Deidara frowned as he felt something strange.

His clay bird was scanning the area, but it had found nothing.

Sasori's gravelly voice broke the silence.

"Did you find anything?"

Deidara pressed his lips together, his pride preventing him from admitting failure.

With a scoff, he shook his head.

"Tch, just some coward hiding in the shadows. Not worth our attention."

Sasori said nothing, but remained wary.

He had also sensed something watching them, but chose not to pursue it further.

Like Deidara, Sasori's pride wouldn't allow him to back down easily.

Thus, despite the possible hidden threat, they continued their approach.

Meanwhile, Baishi smirked.

He had already decided—

If things got too messy, he'd simply snatch what he wanted and leave.

After all, with his current strength, as long as he was careful, there was little chance of him being in danger.

That confidence allowed him to sit back and enjoy the spectacle.

Time Passed…

In the blink of an eye, the battle had shifted drastically.

With Sasori and Deidara's arrival, the Cloud Ninja were now on the defensive.

The first to suffer were the Anbu squads—Deidara's explosive creations wreaked havoc among them.

If not for Darui using his Lightning Release to counter Deidara's detonations, the entire unit would have been wiped out.

However, Darui's intervention forced him to abandon his fight with Hidan, significantly relieving Hidan's pressure.

While he wasn't happy about sharing his kill, he reluctantly accepted it, knowing it was the boss's orders.

On the other side, Sasori's intervention greatly increased A's difficulties.

The moment Sasori summoned his Third Kazekage puppet, the fight completely changed.

Neither Kakuzu nor Sasori cared about collateral damage.

One bombarded A with a relentless assault of elemental ninjutsu.

The other rained down deadly Iron Sand techniques with the Kazekage puppet.

Even A struggled under the overwhelming attacks.

Finally, realizing he couldn't hold back, A activated his full-power Lightning Armor.

A pale golden aura crackled around his body, his hair spiking upward like a Super Saiyan.

His speed, strength, and durability skyrocketed.

At that point, neither Kakuzu nor Sasori could suppress him anymore.

In mere moments, A shattered two of Kakuzu's masks and destroyed Sasori's Hiruko shell.

For Kakuzu, the loss of hearts weakened his combat ability, despite quickly replacing them with new ones.

For Sasori, however, losing Hiruko only made him stronger.

His real body—a mechanized puppet filled with lethal weapons—was far deadlier than Hiruko.

Thus, the battle once again reached a stalemate.

Until—

A massive surge of chakra erupted across the battlefield.

The air trembled under the sheer pressure.

Then—

A blinding white light flashed across the land.

The already devastated forest was completely obliterated.

A's eyes widened as he turned toward the source—

A gigantic, ox-like creature with eight writhing tentacles had emerged.

There was no mistaking it—

The Eight-Tails, Gyūki, had fully manifested.

Overwhelmed, Killer Bee had no choice but to completely unleash the beast within him.

And the first thing Gyūki did upon being freed?

He charged up a Tailed Beast Bomb—

And fired it straight at Hidan.
