Chapter 32: The Catastrophic Technique, Meteor Volcano!

As the encirclement tightened, Uchiha Yi, not wishing to draw further attention, concealed himself within a campfire. Surrounded by Mist ninjas with no escape, Kakashi felt resigned and stepped out from the shadows.

"Kill him!"

"This time, we can't let him get away!"

The Mist ninja squad leader gave the command, and the surrounding ninjas began forming hand seals, readying their jutsu to unleash on Kakashi. They had already suffered casualties in their attempt to capture him, making them realize that taking Kakashi alive was unrealistic.

"It's come to this, then," Kakashi realized, knowing his chances of walking out alive were slim. However, giving up was not in his nature, especially since he hadn't yet found Obito and had many questions left unanswered.

"Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet!"

"Water Release: Great Waterfall!"

"Water Release: Wild Water Wave!"

...

All the jutsus targeted Kakashi, leaving him completely surrounded with no space to dodge or escape, trapping him in a dire situation.

"Earth Release Barrier: Earth Prison Dome!"

Kakashi quickly responded with a defensive strategy. With a sequence of rapid hand seals, he slapped the ground, creating a small earthen dome around himself that completely enveloped him. He spread his hands along the inner walls, channeling chakra throughout the dome to ensure it could rapidly regenerate from damage and absorb attacks.

Uchiha Yi, observing from his hidden spot, was impressed by Kakashi's adaptability and mastery of the jutsu. Kakashi's reputation as a genius truly lived up to his name.

Even so, Kakashi's best efforts seemed futile against the overwhelming onslaught. He appeared like a small boat in a storm, constantly on the verge of being overwhelmed.

"Isn't it about time for Obito to step in?" Uchiha Yi wondered, puzzled and conflicted. Logically, even though Obito harbored some resentment towards Kakashi, he wouldn't just stand by and watch him die.

According to Obito, Kakashi could only die by his hand. Therefore, Uchiha Yi initially decided to wait and see, opting not to interfere.

However, the situation developed differently from his expectations. Obito seemed disinclined to intervene.

Knowing the plot, Uchiha Yi was confused about Obito's mindset.

"It looks like I'll have to help Kakashi myself!"

If he didn't intervene, Kakashi really might die. A living Kakashi could be far more beneficial than a dead one, especially as a tool against Obito.

Using the levitational properties of the Flame-Flame Fruit, Uchiha Yi soared over the encirclement and landed directly on Kakashi's earthen dome.

"System, upgrade my Repelling Fire Ring to x3!"

Having the resources ready for just such an occasion, he upgraded the jutsu three levels at once. The Repelling Fire Ring, which started as a single ring, now expanded to three layers centered around his body, head, and feet, tripling the defensive area and reducing vulnerabilities.

The upgraded Repelling Fire Ring also tripled in power, though its exact strength against certain benchmarks remained to be tested by Uchiha Yi.

The three rings of fire quickly formed around him, pushing away all incoming attacks before they could reach him. Although some attacks slipped through the gaps, the threat was significantly diminished.

Yet, this was still not enough!

After withstanding the barrage, more would surely follow until a satisfactory conclusion was reached. Uchiha Yi didn't want to be dragged into a prolonged battle, so he took the initiative.

At some point, Uchiha Yi's hands had completely transformed into lava, and he launched a massive volley of molten fists into the sky.

"What is he doing?"

"Who knows? He can't possibly be juggling, can he?"

"I have a bad feeling about this!"

"Watch out! Everyone be careful!"

The Mist ninjas paused, exchanging puzzled looks as someone instinctively looked up, only to see a meteor shower of molten fists raining down from above.

The sight turned their faces pale with fear as the deadly technique engulfed the area, leaving an unforgettable scene of devastation.

With immense force, the lava fists rained down, making any standard defensive jutsu inadequate.

"Everyone, come together for the Water Prison Technique!"

The squad leader, realizing that even elite ninjas couldn't be sure of surviving this catastrophe, rallied everyone to combine their power and maximize the Water Prison Technique's effect.

The ninja acted quickly upon hearing the leader's command, converging to systematically deploy the technique.

The next second, a massive water prison formed, encapsulating all the Mist ninjas within. The molten fists bombarded the water barrier, sinking deep and hissing upon contact, creating clouds of steam.

"Hold on!"

"Increase chakra flow!"

While anxious, the squad leader kept his composure, loudly directing everyone's actions.

Eventually, they managed to withstand the assault, thankfully with minimal casualties.

Everyone was exhausted, their chakra nearly depleted, with hardly any combat strength left.

"Only a few dead? That's it?!"

Dissatisfied with the anticlimactic outcome, Uchiha Yi was frustrated that his Meteor Volcano hadn't met his expectations.

Was the technique too weak, or had he underestimated the world?

Either way, it proved he still had a long way to go to become unbeatable. If a level one Meteor Volcano wasn't enough, then it was time to level up!

With his chakra depleted, Uchiha Yi could no longer maintain his shadow clone, which began to dissipate.

The situation for the Mist ninjas wasn't much better. Now, if Kakashi was smart, he'd seize this opportunity to escape easily.
