Chapter 30: 30
Chapter 37
The battlefield was silent save for the faint whistle of the wind, carrying the weight of two immense spiritual presences. Lille Barro and Nnoitra Gilga faced each other, their gazes locked, and their words already exchanged.
"You've grown complacent, Hollow," Lille declared, his voice calm but condescending as he raised his rifle. "Still clinging to your brute strength. Let's see if it's enough to overcome true divinity."
Nnoitra smirked, his dark eyes gleaming with excitement. He spun Santa Teresa by its chain, the weapon's crescent blades slicing the air. "Keep running that mouth of yours, Quincy. You won't be so smug when I rip you to shreds!"
The tension snapped, and the two warriors clashed.
---
Lille raised his rifle and fired. The X-Axis manifested its terrifying power, piercing through everything in a perfectly straight line. The shot was invisible, instantaneous, and unavoidable.
But Nnoitra, with his enhanced Hierro, didn't flinch as the shot tore through his shoulder. Blood trickled, but the wound was shallow. He grinned savagely. "That all you got?!"
Nnoitra charged, Sonido propelling him forward in a blur. Lille fired again, aiming for Nnoitra's chest. The shot struck true, drilling through his torso, yet Nnoitra barely slowed down. He swung his massive scythe in a wide arc, forcing Lille to leap back.
"You can't dodge my shots," Lille stated coldly, firing another round.
"I don't need to dodge!" Nnoitra snarled. His Hierro took the brunt of the attack again, leaving another shallow wound. He swung Santa Teresa with both hands, bringing it down like a guillotine.
Lille sidestepped and raised his rifle for a counterstrike, only for Nnoitra to lash out with his weapon's chain, catching Lille's arm and forcing him to backpedal.
---
As the battle escalated, Lille began to feel the pressure of Nnoitra's relentless offense. The Espada's attacks came faster and harder, each strike threatening to overwhelm him.
"Let's see you handle this!" Nnoitra growled. "Pray, Santa Teresa!"
A surge of spiritual energy erupted around him as Nnoitra transformed. His Resurrección granted him six arms, each wielding a deadly scythe, and his spiritual pressure grew suffocatingly heavy.
Nnoitra launched himself forward, scythes spinning in a deadly whirlwind. Lille fired repeatedly, each X-Axis shot piercing Nnoitra's body. But the Hollow's regeneration healed the wounds almost as quickly as they appeared.
"You're persistent, I'll give you that," Lille admitted, his voice cool. He adjusted his rifle, preparing a volley of Heilig Pfeil. "But persistence means nothing against perfection."
Green arrows rained down, each shot creating craters as they struck the ground around Nnoitra. The Espada used his multiple arms to deflect some of the arrows, while his Hierro absorbed the rest. With a roar, he closed the distance and swung all six scythes simultaneously.
---
The attack was too fast and too wide for Lille to avoid. Forced into a corner, he opened his left eye for the first time. His body became intangible, and Nnoitra's scythes passed harmlessly through him.
"Finally scared enough to use that trick, huh?" Nnoitra taunted, his grin widening.
Lille ignored him, firing another X-Axis shot at point-blank range. The blast tore through Nnoitra's abdomen, but the Hollow laughed through the pain. He regenerated instantly, using his hidden arms to surprise Lille with a sudden strike.
The scythe grazed Lille's side, drawing blood. Lille frowned, opening his left eye for the second time, to phase through another attack.
Lille repositioned, firing shot after shot with unrelenting precision. Nnoitra roared as the attacks riddled his body, but his Hierro and regeneration kept him standing.
"You think this is enough to stop me?!" Nnoitra bellowed, his spiritual pressure spiking.
---
Realizing the Hollow wouldn't fall easily, Lille made his decision. His left eye opened for the third time, and he felt the surge of freedom as his intangibility became permanent for the duration of the battle. "Now you'll see the true power of divinity."
In response, Nnoitra flexed his reaitsu. He charged at Lille with all six scythes, dissing out rampant strikes.
Lille distanced himself and entered his Vollständig.
A blinding green light surrounded him as his eight wings unfurled, and his rifle transformed into a more menacing form. Intangible and empowered, Lille floated above the battlefield, firing shots that pierced everything in their path.
Nnoitra refused to back down. He roared and charged, his scythes spinning wildly, his regeneration working overtime to counter Lille's relentless attacks.
The battlefield became a chaotic storm of scythe strikes and unstoppable gunfire, the ground quaking under the pressure of their powers. Neither combatant was willing to yield, their pride and hatred driving them to fight until the very end.
---
Chapter 38
The battlefield was unrecognizable, scarred by craters and torn earth. The skies above seemed darker, as if reflecting the destructive clash between two monstrous powers.
Lille Barro floated above, his Jilliel form radiating an unearthly green glow. Intangible and impervious, he fired The X-Axis repeatedly, each shot slicing through Nnoitra Gilga's body.
"You're resilient, Hollow," Lille admitted, his voice calm and disdainful. "But even a cockroach can only scuttle for so long before it's crushed."
Nnoitra, battered and bloodied, grinned through the pain. His six scythes spun wildly in his hands, the blades gleaming with murderous intent. Despite the deep holes left by Lille's attacks, his regeneration kept him alive, though slower with every passing moment.
"Cockroach, huh?" Nnoitra spat blood onto the ground and laughed. "You're all talk, Quincy. Let's see if your fancy tricks can handle this!"
---
Nnoitra surged forward, his spiritual energy exploding outward like a violent storm. His six scythes came crashing down in a synchronized assault, aiming to overwhelm Lille's intangibility with sheer ferocity.
Lille hovered calmly, his rifle raised. "Pathetic."
Firing The X-Axis in rapid succession, he created perfectly round holes through Nnoitra's weapons and body alike. Yet Nnoitra pressed on, ignoring the mounting damage, his grin never faltering.
With a roar, Nnoitra extended his hidden arms in a surprise attack, two scythes slicing upward toward Lille's unguarded torso.
The blades passed through him harmlessly, thanks to his intangibility, but the sheer force of the strike disrupted his aim. Nnoitra used the moment to close the gap, swinging Santa Teresa in a powerful arc that split the earth beneath them.
---
Lille's wings unfurled further, their light becoming blinding. "You've overstayed your welcome, Hollow," he said coldly, the Quincy Zeichen in his eye glowing brighter. "I'll erase you now, just as God intended."
Concentrating his energy, Lille fired a barrage of enhanced X-Axis*lshots, each one exploding with enough force to shatter the landscape. Nnoitra roared in defiance, spinning his scythes to deflect the incoming attacks, but his strength was waning.
One shot pierced through his abdomen, then another through his shoulder. A third tore through his leg, bringing him to one knee. Blood poured from his wounds, his regeneration struggling to keep up.
"You're finished," Lille declared, pointing his rifle directly at Nnoitra's head.
---
Nnoitra's grin faded, replaced by a snarl of frustration. He slammed a scythe into the ground to steady himself, glaring up at Lille with defiance. "This ain't over, Quincy!"
Suddenly, a massive burst of spiritual pressure exploded around Nnoitra, creating a cloud of dust and debris. When the dust settled, he was gone, leaving only the faint trace of his spiritual energy retreating in the distance.
Lille lowered his rifle, his expression unreadable. "Running away? How fitting for a beast like you."
He hovered above the battlefield for a moment longer, scanning the horizon with his piercing gaze. Though victorious, he felt no satisfaction. A part of him knew Nnoitra would return, and their conflict was far from over.
---
As the wind carried away the remnants of their clash, Lille descended, his Vollständig fading. The battlefield was silent once more, save for his soft footsteps as he walked away.
"Survive if you must, Hollow," Lille muttered under his breath. "Next time, there won't be a retreat."
