NARUTO : I AM THE ONLY REAL NINJA

Chapter 4: 4 Memories and Choices

Takama Yuichi lay in his hospital bed, staring at the white ceiling as his mind wandered between memories and questions. He still felt a slight ache in his body from the chakra exhaustion caused by his first simulation, but the doctors assured him he'd recover soon.

He closed his eyes, and his thoughts drifted back to years ago, when he was a lonely orphan in Konoha. He spent most of his time in the village's forests, training or reflecting on his new life in this world. One day, while wandering near a secluded area, he heard mocking laughter and faint sobbing. Approaching cautiously, he discovered a group of children bullying a small girl with dark blue hair and distinctive white eyes. It was Hinata Hyuga.

In that moment, Yuichi realized he was witnessing a pivotal scene from the anime: the iconic moment when Naruto Uzumaki steps in to save Hinata from bullies, planting the seeds of her love for him. But Yuichi made a bold decision. "No one can resist a girl like Hinata," he thought, knowing this choice might alter the course of events. Instead of standing back, he stepped forward and intervened himself.

"Leave her alone!" Yuichi shouted, positioning himself between Hinata and the bullies. He was small and scrawny, but he didn't hesitate. The bullies, three older kids, laughed mockingly.

"Who are you? Another orphan trying to play hero?" one of them sneered.

"You might regret it if you don't leave her alone now," Yuichi replied, his voice calm but firm.

A fight broke out, and Yuichi used the basic hand-to-hand combat skills he'd learned from self-training. He managed to knock one bully down with a quick kick, but the other two attacked him together. At that moment, Naruto appeared, charging into the scene with his usual loud voice.

"You cowards! Bullying a girl?" Naruto yelled, joining Yuichi in the fight.

Together, they drove the bullies away, but Yuichi noticed the Anbu watching from a distance. Knowing Naruto was constantly monitored as the Nine-Tails' Jinchuriki, he kept his distance after the fight. He spoke with Naruto for a few minutes, thanking him for his help, but didn't linger.

Hinata looked at Yuichi with eyes full of gratitude and mumbled softly, "T-thank you…"

"No need to thank me," Yuichi replied with a faint smile. "Just don't let anyone bother you again."

From that moment, Yuichi felt that Hinata looked at him differently, but he didn't think much of it at the time. Now, in the hospital, he wondered if his intervention that day was why she was watching him.

Yuichi's thoughts shifted to the system. He still had to choose a talent from the simulation against Karin. He summoned the system in his mind, and the virtual screen appeared, displaying the three options:

Chakra Sensing

Increased Physical Stamina

Basic Hand-to-Hand Combat

After deep thought, Yuichi chose Chakra Sensing. He knew this ability would give him a significant advantage in combat, especially in a world full of chakra-reliant ninja. Moreover, the system confirmed that all talents it granted were "authentic," meaning if he gained an ability like the Sharingan in the future, he'd have full control over it, unlike Kakashi, who couldn't deactivate it at will.

Yuichi selected the option, and a strange energy surged through his body. It felt as if his senses had sharpened. He closed his eyes and focused, suddenly sensing the chakra of the nurse in the next room, then another person in the hallway. "So this is what it feels like," he thought, smiling.

Meanwhile, Konoha was buzzing with tension. With the academy graduation exam just a week away, students and teachers alike were preparing diligently. In the streets, rumors spread about increased bandit activity on the borders of the Land of Fire, prompting the Third Hokage to dispatch Jonin teams to handle the situation.

At the hospital, Yuichi was visited by his friend Kenta, who came to check on him.

"Man, I heard you passed out!" Kenta said, his tone a mix of worry and curiosity. "What happened? Were you training some secret technique?"

"Something like that," Yuichi replied with a cryptic smile. "But I'm fine now."

"Well, don't scare us again," Kenta said. "By the way, I heard Iruka-sensei is giving us special training tomorrow to polish our techniques before the exam. You gotta be there!"

After Kenta left, Iruka-sensei himself came to visit. He looked concerned but tried to hide it with a smile.

"Yuichi, I heard what happened," Iruka said. "You need to be more careful. You're a talented student, and we don't want to lose you before the exam."

"Thank you, sensei," Yuichi replied. "I'll be more careful in the future."

When Iruka left, Yuichi lay back, thinking about the days ahead. He knew the graduation exam would mark the start of a challenging journey. With his new chakra-sensing ability, he felt more confident, but he also knew he needed to master it.
