Chapter 108: "Wuwu~ I Was Wrong"
With that, he turned and walked to the entrance of the cave.
Typically, ninjas require both hands to perform hand seals, though some highly skilled ninjas can use their feet, such as Jiraiya.
Beyond that, there is another method of forming seals—using the eyeballs. By rotating the eyes, one can also execute hand seals.
However, this is not a realm that Suzumebachi (Hornet) can master.
Given the current setup by Shimizu, with her hands bound, there was no way for her to escape.
"You..."
Suzumebachi had lived for over a decade, yet she couldn't figure out what Shimizu was planning.
Instead of imprisoning her at their base, he had chosen to hide her in a secluded place.
Could it be that he had taken a liking to her body?
"Come back! Hey, let's talk!"
Suzumebachi thought to herself, calling out to Shimizu, urging him to return.
Unfortunately, Shimizu remained unmoved. A massive earthen wall rose, completely sealing the cave entrance.
As the wall tightly closed off the entrance, the confined environment began to instill a sense of fear in Suzumebachi.
If not for the air passage Shimizu had left beforehand, she would have been as good as buried alive.
.....
"Shimizu, are you hurt?"
When Shimizu returned to the camp through the newly created entrance, Uchiha Tekka rushed over.
"No, that Iwa-nin escaped. I don't know where she went."
Shimizu shook his head, feigning a look of regret.
"You did well this time, Shimizu."
Minato Namikaze approached.
The reconnaissance team had sensed something unusual here, and he had immediately teleported using the Flying Thunder God mark he had left.
Fortunately, the timing was right, and the Iwa-nin had retreated as soon as they realized the situation was unfavorable.
Dozens of ninjas in the camp had sustained new injuries, but there were few fatalities.
Chojiro, the leader of this base, had already briefed Minato on what had happened.
"It's nothing. Just doing my duty. We're all ninjas of Konoha."
"It seems you took the Hokage's words to heart before we left."
Minato smiled warmly.
He was pleased to see Shimizu embracing the Will of Fire.
This was the kind of subordinate he, Minato Namikaze, wanted.
"I didn't expect you to hold your own against a jonin."
Although Minato wasn't sure of the exact strength level of that jonin who could summon bees, he knew that at Shimizu's age, without the Flying Thunder God Technique, he himself would never have been able to defeat a jonin.
"Let's relocate the base."
Chojiro issued the order to his subordinates. The current base's location had been exposed, and a new crisis could erupt at any moment.
Seeing this, Minato praised Shimizu a few more times before joining the team in moving supplies.
Many of the ninjas looked exhausted.
In the dead of night, they had been abruptly awakened.
Then, they had rushed headlong into a brutal battle.
Without a moment's rest, they now had to relocate.
Some muttered complaints under their breath.
The initial excitement for war had diminished significantly, replaced by anxiety about the future.
"Kakashi, thank you for saving me."
Obito quickened his pace to catch up with Kakashi.
He carried a large sealing scroll on his shoulder, filled with supplies.
The larger the sealing scroll, the more supplies it could hold.
During wartime, the sealing scrolls used for transporting and moving supplies were the largest.
"Be more careful next time."
Kakashi replied indifferently.
He also carried a sealing scroll on his shoulder and another on his back.
Without stopping, he swiftly followed the main force marching through the night.
"Got it, got it."
Obito was now deeply grateful to Kakashi for saving his life and didn't mind Kakashi's sharp tone.
He shook his head, looking around for Rin's location.
"Why does Rin look so down?"
Obito spotted Rin ahead to Kakashi's right, but her expression seemed unusually somber.
....
As dawn broke, the new base was established five kilometers from the old one.
The medical and logistics teams were burdened with many injured, making long-distance travel difficult.
Some of the injured couldn't even move and had to be carried by other ninjas.
This greatly slowed the march, and it took over an hour to reach the new base.
The new base's location was not far from where Suzumebachi was being held, saving Shimizu the trouble of building a new hideout.
After a few hours of sleep, Shimizu left behind several shadow clones and quietly departed.
The extra clones were a precaution in case one of them ran out of chakra or was accidentally destroyed.
The remaining clones were enough to cover for half a day, ensuring no one would notice Shimizu's absence.
.....
Crash.
As the earth crumbled, Shimizu stepped into the cave.
The noise from the earth-style jutsu woke Suzumebachi from her slumber.
She cursed Shimizu, berating him for leaving her in this wretched place.
Earlier, ants had crawled through the air passage, nearly entering her ears.
"Quiet down."
Shimizu held a curved branch with leaves, resembling a whip.
He approached Suzumebachi and forced her to drink a specially prepared potion.
After being suspended all night, Suzumebachi was drenched in sweat, her robes clinging to her body.
Her figure was accentuated, revealing her toned abdomen and curves.
"What did you make me drink? I warn you, my grandfather was the first clan leader of the Kamizuru clan!"
Suzumebachi felt uneasy as the potion's effects spread through her limbs.
Crack!
Suzumebachi screamed in pain.
Her robe now bore a crease from the whip's strike.
"Even if your grandfather were the First Hokage, it wouldn't matter."
Shimizu was unmoved.
"You've killed so many of Konoha's ninjas. It's only fair that you suffer a bit. I'll use you to honor the innocent souls you've taken!"
Shimizu swung the branch again, striking Suzumebachi.
"Do you admit your wrongs?"
Crack!
"Do you admit your wrongs?"
Crack!
Shimizu repeated the question with each strike.
"Wuwu~ I was wrong, I was wrong."
Suzumebachi, no longer the arrogant figure from before, rolled her eyes back, tears streaming down her cheeks.
Crack! Crack! Crack!
After an unknown amount of time, the ground beneath Shimizu was damp.
"Wuwu......"
The cave echoed with Suzumebachi's sobs. She was confused by her body's reactions, as if she had truly come to understand her mistakes.
Seeing that it was enough, Shimizu took out a small sealing scroll from his waist and unsealed several instruments, arranging them in the cave.
He then took out a test tube filled with the Heaven Curse Mark and squeezed a drop onto a glass dish.
The tube contained enough of the curse mark for dozens of people, but using it drop by drop for experiments would take forever.
Next, he extracted a strand of the Demonic Statue's chakra and began refining it using dark medical ninjutsu.
He was preparing the potion needed to implant the Heaven Curse Mark.
After experimenting on many lab rats, he had gained a deeper understanding of the Demonic Statue's chakra.
When the mind was blurred or unconscious, the chakra integrated more easily into the body.
