Chapter 835: Chapter 835 The Fire Keeper Joins The Loki Familia

"Me? Just consider me a traveler who roams between different worlds!"

Asahi couldn't be bothered with lengthy explanations; after all, he truly was someone who traversed different worlds.

And his power was so immense that even a mere hint of his presence could cause two worlds to collapse entirely.

"A world traveler? How enviable. So, how should we collaborate? I can assist, and my knowledge rivals that of the Fire Keeper. In fact, I've been to more places than she has, so I can serve as your guide."

"My request is also very simple. Help me free the Abyss Watchers from their current predicament. Although it is estimated that there are not many people left, after all, facing the Abyss often leads to corruption!"

Hawkwood shook his head. He had left because of his fear of the Abyss. The first time he witnessed a comrade being corrupted, he finally understood the true horror that the Abyss Watchers were facing. At any moment, a fellow watcher could turn against their comrades, and this constant vigilance against one another made him deeply uncomfortable.

"Are you from Abyss Watchers Squad 260? No wonder I sensed such strength in your soul. Too bad you're not interested in becoming a Lord of Cinder!"

The Fire Keeper said with a regretful shake of her head, surprised to encounter a member of the Abyss Watchers here since they were supposed to be at the fortress.

"Yeah, the Abyss Watchers are among the Lords of Cinder. They refuse to reclaim the throne, knowing their fate is ultimately death by beheading!"

Hawkwood was very helpless, and he couldn't do anything, so he gave some things and suggestions to the Ashen Onelater.

"This truly is a hopeless world, but it's also an opportunity. Join forces with our Loki Familia; we're one of Orario's Twin Kings. However, Fire Keeper, if you wish to form an alliance with us, you'll need to return with us. Also, we'll need some souls as proof of the value of this place."

Riveria suggested, noting that they required the Fire Keeper and souls to prove the worth of the area.

"Souls are easy to find, as there are undead all over Lothric's High Wall, plus a dragon. Oh, and don't forget the watchdog and the dancer, though the dancer is tough… I'm no match for the dragon!"

Hawkwood explained, familiar with every detail. As the group discussed their plans, a sudden flash of fire appeared, and a figure emerged. It was the Ashen One, who had previously departed.

"Ah, it seems that he has returned from the dead, after all, there are indeed many powerful foes on Lothric's High Wall!"

Hawkwood remarked without surprise, Even Fire Keepers, like Ashen Ones, would revive after death, though not near the latest bonfire, but rather at the Firelink Shrine.

"Let's head there now. We'll also need people to guard the entrance, as there are other Familia members appearing. We'll leave some of our own to defend here until the main force returns!"

Riveria stated. Since they were partnering up, maximizing benefits was essential, and blocking the passage was the top priority.

"No problem, we can call some people over, though not too many!"

Ludleth offered. With his status as a Lord of Cinder, he could summon several Ashen Ones to guard the area.

However, this world also had its own factions, such as the Hollows. For them, fire was unnecessary, and they were always plotting to seize it.

"Then let's not waste any time. Let's go now!"

Riveria nodded, determined to act immediately.

"Wait a moment, we both heard your conversation just now. I have a few Estus Flasks in my collection. If you truly manage to leave this world and find a new place to settle, these items will be yours!"

The blacksmith and the old lady who likes to mix ashes into her meals had also arrived. They both had an ethereal presence, and the old lady was especially eccentric, she had a penchant for eating ashes, a habit that was quite bizarre.

In the game, if Asahi remembered correctly, there was even an option later to obtain ashes covered in dung, which was just outrageous. But the old lady wouldn't care, and she would simply consume it.

For the Loki Familia, the blacksmith's abilities were particularly valuable, even though there were many forges in their own world.

However, they lacked the ability to add attribute enhancements or perform special upgrades. The blacksmith here, however, could do those things.

In the end, the blacksmith handed over several Estus Flasks and helped them reinforce their weapons once more. The group then passed through the bonfire and arrived at Lothric's High Wall.

"Up ahead is where the dragon has been awakened. I'm not strong enough to handle it. If possible, try to slay that beast. It's quite valuable. Not only does it have a powerful soul, but it also carries a lot of materials on his body."

Due to the shifts between worlds, when the dragon died, it wouldn't drop large Titanite Shards but would instead leave them along with its corpse.

Except for undead monsters, slain creatures wouldn't respawn. Unlike the relatively small size of the game world, this world was vast, and numerous monsters could be killed, yielding souls upon their defeat.

These souls would be sufficient for the members of the Loki Familia to enhance their abilities.

The dragon had been previously awakened by the Ashen Ones, which caused it to start breathing fire everywhere.

This dragon's strength was comparable to that of Iudex Gundyr, around the level of Level 5. Of course, it wasn't on par with the ancient dragons of the Nameless King's realm. Dragons of that caliber could easily reach levels like LV7 or even stronger.

'This dragon shouldn't be too powerful, so let me handle it!'

After saying this, Riveria launched her High Elf Chant, her magic scorching the dragon's wings, causing it to thrash about in the flames.

However, it wasn't enough to finish it off. Instead, Ais transformed herself into a single, precise strike, slaying the dragon instantly.

"A whole Level 5 dragon… how much can the materials from its disassembly fetch?"

Tiona looked at the dragon before them with some unease. In the dungeons, slain monsters would only drop magic stones. If luck was on their side, some scattered materials might drop from the stores, but the disparity between the monster's size and its drops was usually significant.

So for them, the earnings from a single Level 5 dragon dragon equaled roughly a fifth of an expedition's haul.

After accounting for the expedition costs, the actual profit wasn't substantial, and most of the value came from exploring new territory. Otherwise, simply farming familiar monsters would yield the highest income.

But adventurers are called adventurers because they possess a spirit of adventure, constantly delving deeper into dungeons. Without that, expeditions would lose their purpose.
