Naruto: Reborn in His Younger Self

Tendo Pain hovered mid-air, his expression unreadable.

"You are not yet worthy to converse with a god."

As soon as he finished speaking—

Swish, swish, swish…

Five more figures clad in Akatsuki's signature black cloaks adorned with red clouds appeared, encircling Naruto.

Naruto glanced around, recognizing each of them from his memories.

This was the same Pain formation that had attacked Konoha—the ones he had fought before.

"I had intended to go to Konoha to hunt you down, but I never expected you to walk right into my grasp. Very well, I shall take the Nine-Tails now."

Tendo Pain extended his hand.

"Banshō Ten'in!" (Universal Pull)

Naruto felt an overwhelming force pulling him forward. Four of the Paths of Pain lunged, their black receivers glinting ominously.

They intended to impale him mid-air!

Naruto swiftly formed a hand seal.

"Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu!"

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Three clones materialized instantly.

One clone grabbed Naruto's arms, swinging him mid-air, while the original used the others as leverage to propel himself downward.

Due to Pain's gravitational ability, the pull only worked in one direction—towards him. But with the remaining four attacking from above, Naruto had no choice but to drop below.

The moment he landed, however, something coiled around his body, tightening instantly.

A wet, suffocating sensation spread across his skin.

He narrowed his eyes. One of the Paths of Pain—a short-haired female—was forming a hand sign.

It was the chameleon summon!

Tch.

Up above, Naruto's clones engaged the attacking Paths. One remaining Pain, wielding a black receiver, lunged in for the kill. Meanwhile, the chameleon constricted its tongue even tighter!

Naruto smirked.

In a flash, he disappeared.

Pain's eyes widened.

Naruto reappeared at the kunai he had thrown earlier. Instantly realizing the counterattack, Tendo Pain teleported forward, aiming a black rod directly at Naruto's chest!

"This time, you cannot escape."

But Naruto had no intention of dodging.

With a sharp movement, he caught the incoming black rod with his right hand and halted Tendo Pain's other attack with his left.

Naruto's gaze was steady as he smiled.

Then, with a sudden surge of strength—

Snap!

The black rod shattered in his grip.

Without hesitation, Naruto swung his leg upward. Tendo Pain barely had time to raise his arms in defense before the impact sent him flying backward.

Tendo Pain landed, recovering swiftly. The remaining Paths regrouped, reassuming their battle stances.

Naruto smirked. "You may be strong, but the Almighty Push has a five-second cooldown. Your close combat capabilities aren't impressive either."

Tendo Pain remained silent.

Naruto turned to the remaining Paths. "The Preta Path absorbs chakra; the Animal Path is responsible for summoning—you used that chameleon against me earlier."

"The Human Path extracts souls and gathers intelligence. The Naraka Path judges truth and revives the others. As for that one… you must be the Asura Path, a modified human with built-in weaponry."

Hearing Naruto dissect their abilities so effortlessly, Tendo Pain narrowed his eyes.

"So, Jiraiya-sensei did manage to relay information before his death. But it does not matter. Against absolute power, knowledge is meaningless."

Naruto chuckled. "I didn't come here to play games. Let's cut to the chase. I'd rather speak to you face to face."

He suddenly stabbed one of the black rods into his own shoulder.

Pain's eyes widened slightly.

Naruto closed his eyes momentarily. Using Sage Mode's heightened perception, he traced the chakra signal flowing through the rod—back to its source.

And there it was.

His eyes snapped open, locking onto a distant tower.

"Found you."

Deep within the tower, Nagato stiffened.

In the darkness, he saw it—those piercing, orange Sage Mode eyes staring right back at him through the chakra connection.

"This brat… he's using Sage Mode to reverse track my location?!"

Naruto smirked, tossing the broken rod aside. Forming a hand seal—

"Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu!"

Boom! Boom! Boom!

A thousand Narutos flooded the battlefield instantly.

Nagato, through Pain's vision, was momentarily stunned.

"So much chakra… he truly is the Nine-Tails' Jinchūriki."

"Stop them!" Nagato commanded.

At his order, the Pains sprang into action.

Tendo Pain took the lead, leaping high. "Shinra Tensei!" (Almighty Push)

A colossal repulsive force erupted, erasing dozens of clones in a single blast.

But that five-second window still remained.

The other Paths fought ferociously, utilizing their unique abilities. Yet, against such sheer numbers—especially with Naruto's Sage Mode and Flying Thunder God—it was impossible to eliminate them all within a minute.

Naruto's true body teleported between kunai marks, evading and closing in.

Inside the tower, Nagato sighed. "Konan, return to my side."

Konan immediately withdrew, standing guard near him.

Naruto finally reached the tower's upper levels, spotting a square-shaped entrance.

He stepped inside.

The interior was pitch black. The walls were metallic, yet the floor beneath his feet carried a different sound—a dull echo.

A cold, oppressive atmosphere hung in the air.

He walked forward, counting his steps.

After nearly a hundred paces, the space widened.

A vast chamber stretched out before him, the size of a basketball court. Steel pipes lined the walls, extending towards the ceiling—likely a drainage system. Given the constant rain, the entire architecture of Amegakure seemed designed around water flow.

At the center of the chamber, Nagato sat upon a massive mechanical apparatus.

His body was frail, limbs embedded within the machine. More than a dozen black rods protruded from his back, draining his chakra. His skin was stretched thin over his bones.

But his Rinnegan eyes still burned with intensity.

He regarded Naruto in silence, then spoke weakly.

"Tell me… what do you wish to discuss?"
