Chapter 140: Making A Stronghold
---
Upon exiting the door of the tavern, the clone set his sights on the evening sun.
Soon, he decided on a plan to convert this land directly into his own domain.
After some investigation, he found information about a family selling a huge property, but they were asking for money upfront.
Without hesitation, the clone made his way to the family's gate and knocked.
Soon after, the gate opened, revealing a young man with black hair and black eyes, dressed in a white and green kimono.
"Yes, who are you?" the young man asked.
"I am a buyer. I heard you were selling your property, so I came here to inquire and buy it outright," the clone replied.
Seeing the clone's attire, the young man nodded and said, "Oh, the property on the east side of the city? Yes, we are selling it. Come inside, my father will meet you."
The clone entered and was led to a room where a middle-aged man with a beard, short hair, and sharp eyes sat.
The man was dressed in a green kimono, his noble-like demeanor evident in his posture.
The clone nodded and spoke, "Greetings, Mr.?"
The man replied, "Hanayama."
"Greetings, Mr. Hanayama. My name is Takashi, a pleasure to meet you. I came here to inquire about the property you're selling," the clone said.
Hanayama nodded and gestured, "Please, Mr. Takashi, take a seat. Yes, we are willing to sell that property. It was purchased long ago, but it no longer holds any value to us."
The clone replied, "Very well then, please state your price. I have the money prepared already."
Hanayama spoke, "My asking price is 30 million ryo."
The clone responded, "Very well then, here is the equivalent amount in gold as compensation."
With a wave of his hand, the clone produced a 2 kg gold brick in front of him.
Just as Hanayama was about to stand up in shock, the clone chuckled and cast an illusion.
Standing up, the clone spoke, "A pleasure doing business with you."
The man smiled and replied, "No, the pleasure is all mine. Here are the house deeds, please take them."
With the transaction complete, the clone vanished upon exiting and reached his newly acquired property.
At the outskirts, he saw a vast field spanning 100 acres. Nodding in approval, the clone clapped his hands.
"Wood Style: House Formation Jutsu!"
Rumble…
The ground trembled as a deep structure began to take shape, covering the entire 100-acre area.
A solid wall surrounded the estate, with a 20-foot-tall gate standing at its entrance.
In front of the gate, a massive hall was formed, complete with various rooms, two above-ground floors, and two underground floors.
The upper floors were made of wooden tatami mats, while the roof was left clear.
Next, the clone weaved another hand seal.
"Crystal Style: Crystal House Formation!"
Instantly, the ceiling was covered with hardened crystals, allowing the night sky to be visible from within.
Stepping inside, the clone set up a sealing formation—one to cast an illusion to fool intruders and another to serve as an attack and trap mechanism.
With that done, he used his Creation of All Things ability, conjuring various household items, kitchen appliances, and a battery capable of storing electricity, fans and such.
Within an hour, the house upper floor was fully completed, including a lower hall for training and a backyard for experimentation.
To top it off, the clone created an artificial lake.
By the time the next day arrived, the clone emerged from his house and began roaming the streets.
"The stronghold is developed. Next, I need to teach some children and civilians how to refine chakra... but how should I proceed?" he thought.
A sudden idea struck him.
"Yes, first, I should recruit the mysterious masters and make them submit to me. After that, everything else will fall into place."
With that decision, he vanished and reappeared inside a castle-like mansion—the Takahara Clan Mansion.
Making his presence known, the clone easily evaded soldiers and guards.
However, chakra masters of genin and chunin level detected his presence.
"Who's there? Show yourself!" one of the masters demanded.
The clone clenched his middle finger and thumb, releasing a chakra bullet that struck the chakra master.
The man collapsed, his body rendered useless, while parts of the Takahara Clan's property were destroyed in the process.
As the clone was about to leave, a chunin-ranked master appeared.
"I wonder who you might be, sir, after taking such action against the city lord's men?" he asked.
The clone remained silent as more than thirty masters gathered, giving chase as he leaped toward the eastern part of the city.
"Stop! How dare you attack the city lord's mansion and flee?" the chunin shouted.
The chase soon alarmed the remaining masters in the city lord's mansion, prompting them to secure the perimeter while sending reinforcements in pursuit.
After being chased for sometime, the clone eventually led them to his estate, the clone stopped in the backyard of his estate.
The chakra masters swiftly arrived, encircling him.
"You cannot escape. Surrender at once!" the chunin ordered. "Seeing that you are a master yourself, we will recommend you to the city lord and allow you to join us."
Ignoring him, the clone sat down on a stone seat and addressed the chakra masters.
"I wonder… how many of you belong to the Takahara Clan, and how many are independent masters recruited by them?"
The chunin replied, "They are all from the Takahara Clan."
Seeing this, the clone cast an illusion. Twelve genin-ranked masters immediately spoke up.
"We are outsiders recruited by the Takahara Clan!"
Hearing this, eight genin and chunin masters looked shocked.
"Do you know about the energy inside you?" the clone asked.
One of the genin answered, "Yes, we use a method called Chakra Refining Art to gather this energy known as chakra."
The clone nodded. "And have you ever wondered how to use this energy properly?"
The chunin interrupted, "Who are you, sir? And what is your purpose?"
But another genin spoke up, "We use it to enhance our bodies and can fight more than ten soldiers alone."
The clone chuckled. "Heh, that's just rudimentary usage. So you've never come into contact with higher arts, I see."
The genin asked, "Are you talking about the mysterious master from the Sukuna family who could summon fire?"
The clone nodded. "Yes, that is an advanced level of chakra manipulation, known as Elemental Transformation."
The genin and chunin masters were stunned.
The chunin asked, "So, do you know how to perform this so-called elemental transformation?"
The clone merely smiled and formed a single hand seal.
Taking a deep breath, he exhaled a massive fireball, over 10 meters in diameter.
The ball of fire soared through the air, scorching the ground and obliterating a 50-meter radius upon impact.
Faces turned pale as the chunin stammered, "W-who are you?! How do you know this?! That man was killed—no one should have known about this ability!"
The clone chuckled.
"Haha… I am what you call a ninja—a creed capable of utilizing that energy you call chakra.
By combining physical and mental energy, we can transform chakra into various jutsu, allowing us to perform incredible feats.
That man you spoke of… he was also a ninja who converted chakra into jutsu."
The revelation struck like a thunderbolt.
The gathered individuals were left in awe, struggling to comprehend the vast potential of the power they had barely begun to tap into.
