The Dance of the Blade—a taijutsu technique—relied on stimulating the body with chakra to significantly boost speed, allowing for rapid sword strikes.

In that sense, it wasn't unlike most taijutsu techniques. However, it involved no chakra nature transformation—just pure attacks using weapons.

Ryuga's expression tightened as he watched another one of his powerful ninjutsu get effortlessly neutralized. He hadn't expected Jiraiya's weapon to be this formidable, capable of absorbing even B-rank ninjutsu with ease.

His earlier Dragon Flame Jutsu, a C-rank technique, had been ineffective, and now even his B-rank jutsu had met the same fate. The realization struck him hard, making his gaze grow more intense.

This "chunin brat" standing before him had the skills of a jonin, despite lacking a jonin-level chakra reserve.

Determined, Ryuga decided to play the long game. As a jonin, his chakra reserves vastly outstripped Jiraiya's. His plan was simple: outlast him.

But what Ryuga didn't know was that Jiraiya possessed the body of a Sage. His immense vitality allowed him to continuously refine chakra.

Chakra had two sources: physical energy extracted from cells, and mental energy from one's will. Depleting mental energy caused unconsciousness, while draining physical energy led to death.

With the Sage Body, Jiraiya's cells were brimming with life, allowing him to endlessly produce chakra without risking death. This also granted him incredible regenerative abilities.

In other words, even if Jiraiya expended half his chakra in a single technique, he could fully recover it in just a few breaths.

If Jiraiya knew what Ryuga was thinking, he would've laughed out loud. Trying to outlast someone with a Sage Body? That was pure foolishness.

"Earth Release: Earth Flow Spears!"

Ryuga formed seals before slamming his palm to the ground. Several sections of the earth rose, forming hardened stone spears that launched at Jiraiya.

"Earth Style: Wall."

With a single seal, a sturdy earthen wall rose to intercept the stone spears with ease.

'Just a little more fire chakra,' Jiraiya muttered, gripping the Lightning Flame Blade as he continued channeling fire chakra into it. 'Once I've stored enough, I'll unleash Great Dragon Fire Technique. Even if it doesn't kill him, it'll seriously injure him.'

The Lightning Flame Blade absorbed the fire chakra continuously, its power growing. With enough chakra, it could rival an S-rank Fire Style technique.

Ryuga, observing from the distance, furrowed his brow.

'He didn't use that weapon to counter my Earth Style. Does it only absorb certain chakra types, or has the blade reached its limit?'

Speculating, he decided to test his theory.

Ryuga unleashed a large amount of fire chakra, spreading it outward in floating fireballs. He was convinced that the Lightning Flame Blade's absorption limit had been reached, so he launched another fire-based attack.

This particular jutsu had no blind spots. The fireballs moved unpredictably, ensuring the target couldn't evade. Ryuga was confident—this technique had previously killed several jonin.

As the fireballs surrounded Jiraiya, a sinister grin crept across Ryuga's face.

'Perfect timing,' Jiraiya said, smiling as he glanced at the floating fireballs.

Just as the fireballs converged on him, a voice rang out.

"No!"

Tsunade arrived at that moment, her face pale with terror. Seeing the overwhelming attack closing in on Jiraiya, her heart clenched.

'No one could survive that,' she thought, despair clouding her mind. Without hesitation, she rushed forward, intending to shield him from at least one of the fireballs.

But she was too slow.

Before she could reach Jiraiya, the fireballs collided, engulfing him in flames. His figure vanished in the inferno, leaving behind only the relentless blaze.

"No!" Tsunade screamed, her voice raw with anguish. Her legs faltered as she stared at the burning scene, her heart sinking.

But then—

"Whoa... incredible."

Tsunade's despair turned to shock as Jiraiya reappeared, spinning rapidly with his blade, scattering the fireballs effortlessly.

The sight left Tsunade completely stunned.

She hadn't expected Jiraiya to be this strong, to neutralize such a devastating attack with ease.

Relief washed over her, almost causing her legs to buckle. Just moments ago, she'd felt like she was suffocating, fearing the worst.

Unbeknownst to her, Jiraiya's importance in her heart had grown significantly.

Meanwhile, Ryuga seethed in frustration. His most powerful techniques had been neutralized by the same weapon.

"Damn these clans with their overpowered tools," he muttered bitterly. "One day, I'll eradicate every last one of them."

"Fire Style: Great Dragon Fire Technique!"

Jiraiya leapt onto the Wall, hurling the Lightning Flame Blade at Ryuga.

The fire chakra stored in the blade was now at its peak, unleashing its full potential.

A deafening roar echoed as the Lightning Flame Blade transformed into a massive flaming dragon, its size doubling from before.

Ryuga's pupils shrank in fear. The sheer pressure emanating from the fiery beast was overwhelming.

"Damn it, what the hell? Is this really something a chunin can do?"

"Fire Release: Great Fire Wall Technique!"

In a desperate attempt, Ryuga formed seals, creating a fiery wall to shield himself.

But the Great Dragon Fire Technique was unstoppable. It shattered the wall effortlessly and engulfed Ryuga.

A pained scream tore through the battlefield as a charred figure stumbled out of the flames.

Ryuga was alive, but barely. His scorched body reeked of burnt flesh, and his condition was no different from that of a dying man.
