Naruto: Summoning System

Chapter 9: Chapter 9: Danmachi(1)

"I am ready." Blake stood with a determined expression, eyebrows connected. He was strapped in chainmail beneath his attire and had numerous hidden weapon around his body. Similarly, Blake had a bag, full of contents needed for survival. Shurikens, kunais, some explosive papers, a water flash, bandages and a few poison bombs. He was as prepared as he could be. Initially, Blake wanted to wait a few more weeks, at least after he managed to perfect his ice pistol, but he had to act now.

Yahiko, Nagato and Konan stood behind him, worried expressions on their faces.

Blake looked around. After Blake's warning, Yahiko acted fast, collecting all of the essential and anything that could give the enemy any intel about them. Then, he told everyone what was happening, excluding Blake's story, as the shinobi began to move with some mesmerizing efficiency.

They gathered all the food that they could carry, some crops that they have been growing near the building and promptly disappeared through the underground tunnels. Now, they were hiding in some artificial hole that they have made within the ground. It was dark and smelled of shit, but it was not a bad hiding spot.

"As I have mentioned, If I don't come back within a month, then assume I am dead and act on your own. If I do come back though, there is one issue. I have no idea where I will pop out from." Blake said the last part with a little giggle, letting the serious atmosphere disperse.

"What do you mean you don't where you will pop out from?" Yahiko raised an eyebrow, turning to Konan. "I am telling you, Konan. These last few days Blake has been acting like a complete psycho, maybe the food from this area is not doing him any good?"

Konan shrugged, an amused smile on her face.

Nagato scratched his head, the only who remained serious, yet obviously confused. "Do you mean that you will…teleport?"

"Yeah, something like that. Wait a second, I will show you." Blake closed his eyes as the trio stared with interest. As Blake kept his eyes closed, he raised his hand towards on the walls and a pristinely white door rose up from the underground. Opening his eyes, Blake looked to see a horrified expression on Nagato's eyes.

"What is this? The chakra flow in this…is this even chakra?" Nagato was mumbling.

Yahiko was no less shook despite not seeing whatever Nagato was seeing, whilst Konan just stared at Blake like he was some exotic creature. Yahiko took a deep breath. "You are full of surprises. Maybe we should have a more in-depth conversation about your clan once you come back."

"I won't reveal the secret of my clan." Blake said jokingly, imitating those clan members. Yahiko laughed and Konan giggled. Nagato, on the other hand, was already next to the door, reaching out to open it. Blake caught his hand.

"Hey, hey, Nagato. What are you trying to do?"

Nagato returned a blank look. "This thing is too strange. I have never seen anything like that."

"The world is big." Blake shrugged, reaching out with another hand and twisting the doorknob. Nagato kept looking, though he took a little step back. In Blake's vision, he was simply seeing darkness. The door literally led into the abyss. It was like stepping into cosmos, yet it had no stars.

Blake thought for a second. "Actually, Nagato, I have never experimented with this, but maybe you want to try to enter inside? Rather…try sticking in your finger first and see what happens."

Konan had a concerned expression. "Are you sure that is a good idea?"

"Nope, not really." Blake answered truthfully. "But, if Nagato could enter, then you three would be able to help me with…finding my new summon, you know. For some reason, that possibility totally escaped my mind."

"I will try." Nagato stated, stepping forward. It seemed that he would have done so even if Blake didn't ask.

Yahiko put a hand on his shoulder. "Be careful, Nagato."

Nagato made eye contact with Yahiko and nodded. Blake stood next to Nagato, staring with interest as Nagato stretched out his hand and tapped the black wall. It didn't go through. Then, Nagato put his entire palm against the wall and nothing happened again. By his side, Blake stretched his own hand, touching the black surface. It got submerged within the darkness. It felt as if his hand was underwater.

Nagato was clearly even more confused, pushing his entire body against the blackness, meeting resistance, whilst Blake was having no issues whatsoever. Eventually, Nagato gave up. "Your power is…mysterious, Blake. Perhaps even more mysterious than my own eyes."

"I would be glad if that was true." Blake returned a smile, bringing one to Nagato's face as well.

Konan was staring into the darkness.

"Where does it lead?"

Blake turned serious, checking his weapons and whether everything was in place.

"Opportunity."

Sighing, Blake nodded at everyone in turn. "It's time for me to go. Remember what I have told you. Also, my guess is that, if I do come back, the door should appear in the same location. Hopefully, you will not be discovered, but if you are and have to switch hiding spots, then check on this place periodically. Please."

"Sure thing, Blake." Yahiko stepped forward and took something out of his pocket. Blake looked down to see a Rain Village headband in his hands. "I know that you aren't from this Village, but I feel that you have grown on Akatsuki. You are part of us now, and I want you to know that too."

Blake considered for a moment before taking the headband. Then, he smiled, and took Yahiko into a hug. Yahiko wasn't expecting it, but he eased into it, hugging Blake with one hand as well. Blake then gave a hug to Konan and Nagato as well, thanking them.

"I appreciate this…" Blake said as he stared at the headband. "You know, I have been feeling out of place for a few years now. Back at home, I always felt like I didn't belong. Yet, here, despite how dangerous it is, I, at least, don't feel like a stranger."

"You find life in the places you least expect." Nagato stated, drawing surprised glances from the rest. He coughed, blushing slightly. "What? I read that from a novel."

"Liar. When was the last time you read something?" Konan nudged him from the side.

Nagato blushed even more and decided to simply remain quiet.

Then a moment of silence descended upon the group, as they exchanged glances with each other and nodded. Blake took a deep breath. Fear is death.

"Okay, it is time for me to go." Blake turned around, facing the darkness. He heard Yahiko, Konan and Nagato wishing him good luck. Blake waved at them with the headband that he received as he slid it up his left hand, tightening it around his bicep.

Then, without further ado, Blake stepped inside of the darkness. It felt like his body was underwater, but he could still breathe, yet he couldn't see anything. It was completely dark or, rather, simply absent of light, until it was not. Blake saw a light in the distance, and he walked there, though he didn't understand what he was stepping on.

Eventually, Blake was faced with another door, though it was fully golden. It shone with radiance, urging Blake to open it, so he did. The doorknob twisted and Blake went inside, suddenly feeling sunlight attacking his face. Opening his eyes, Blake had to put a hand in the air to protect himself from the rays, as he stared around in awe.

A different world.

The air was crisp and filled with a mix of scents—wildflowers, fresh earth, and the faint aroma of something magical. The streets bustled with adventurers, merchants, and townsfolk. Some carried weapons glinting in the sunlight, while others lugged sacks filled with the spoils of their adventures. The hum of life was everywhere—calls of merchants hawking rare goods, the clang of a blacksmith hammering out a blade, and the faint strains of a bard singing.

Blake marvelled at the city's architecture—stone buildings adorned with intricate carvings, and magical lampposts lining the cobbled streets. Before him lay the sprawling city of Orario, its towering walls gleaming in the midday sun. At the heart of the city, the Babel Tower stretched impossibly high into the sky, a beacon of power, marking the gateway to the infamous Dungeon below.

Blake was in a different world, where gods have descended to live among the mortal, where heroes go and fight within the dungeon, where Nightmare has died and seeks revenge. Blake pushed away his awe of the novelty for a second, assessing the situation. Everything that he had taken stayed with him. Turning around, Blake saw that the door that he had left from was just an ordinary one from this side.

Blake wondered how the hell did this Summoning System work, but he knew that asking those questions was definitely out of his calibre right now. As Blake was about to walk away, he suddenly heard a shout. "Help! Thief! She stole my dagger!"

Turning around, Blake saw a little kid rushing towards his direction, chased by an angry man with shining armour. He was about to step away, until he recognized the little creature. Loli? What was her name again? Anyway, it was definitely her, for she was small and had a huge, ripped hood covering her head.

Seeing Blake in the way, the girl dashed past him, only to suddenly hit her head against Blake's chest. The girl stumbled backwards, hitting her butt on the ground, as she stared at Blake from below in clear confusion. How did this man just appear there? Or was he that much faster than she was?

The angry man behind caught up, shouting insults, but stopping upon seeing Blake. "Good one. Now get the hell out. I already had a bad day, but this little bitch ruined it completely. I am going to have my fun beating her up."

The man was already reaching down towards the obviously scared girl. Blake grabbed the man's hand, stopping it. The man raised his eyes, staring at Blake with some amusement. "Fellow, what do you think you are doing? Are you expecting some sort of reward for stopping her? You ain't getting anything. Now, screw off."

The man tried to push away Blake's hand, but he realized that he couldn't do it. Frowning, the armoured man tried to push Blake's hand with more force. No success. Biting his lip, the man grabbed Blake's wrist with his free hand. Yet, Blake remained unmoving.

"Move."

Blake stared hard into the man's eyes. The man was staring at Blake with extreme ferocity, yet, in the end, the man let go. There was something in Blake's face, something deeper than just anger.

The man stepped away, whilst Blake bent down, making eye contact with the girl. He stared at her and beamed a little smile. "I am sorry I was in the way. What is your name?"

The girl looked at Blake apprehensively. "Lili."

"Ohh…so it was Lili." Blake smiled in content, seeing the confused expression on the girl's face. Whilst Blake was smiling, he stretched out one of his hands, palm up. Blake pointedly glanced at the dagger in Lili's hand. Lili bit her lip, but, in the end, she gave it to Blake. Seeing her pained expression, Blake fumbled in his bag, producing one shuriken, which he placed into Lili's hands.

She stared at the weapon with interest and some apprehension, assessing Blake from toes to head again. Now that she thought about it, the man looked extremely strange. He was handsome and his attire and the strange headband on his bicep stood out. She would have definitely remembered the man if he was a local.

"I will give you a 20 seconds head start." Blake winked at her and stood up, facing the man. Without a second thought, Lili rushed through the street. The man stared at her back with clear hatred, remembering the way which she left.

"Eh, prick, give me back my dagger before I call my team and smash your teeth in." The man threatened, clearly growing more agitated as Lili disappeared from his viewpoint.

However, Blake didn't respond, as he kept smiling, unmoving. The man began to grow confused, looking at Blake's hands and seeing no dagger. A vein popped out from his forehead, as he stepped forward and grabbed Blake by the collar. "Where the hell is my dagger, fucker?!"

Blake kept smiling and then he disappeared into a puff of smoke, leaving behind a big piece of wood. The man's eyes were wide, his mouth a snarl. The wood levitated in the air for half a second before falling down straight on top of the man's toe. He shouted and grabbed his leg in pain. His face was red as he was looking round, disoriented form the situation. His dagger was gone, the girl was gone, the strange man was gone and, it seemed, his toenail was gone too.

A few streets away from there, Blake was calmly walking around, inspecting all the peculiar shops and people in the proximity. He played with his dagger in his hands, silently strolling towards the dungeon in the middle of the city. It was a pretty good dagger, much better than most of the weapons made in Naruto.

Maybe it was because it was mass produced in Naruto?

Anyway, Blake was pretty content with his first appearance in this world. He had saved a little girl, Lola. Threatened some bastard and then stole his dagger. The man must be bursting with anger right now, but, oh well, not his business anymore.

"It is time to start the mission." Blake cracked his neck. The plan was simple. Leave this city as soon as possible, away from all the gods and goddesses before he got mixed in with something annoying. Blake didn't know whether gods would be able to sense that he was, in fact, not from here, but he didn't want to risk it.

Killing adventurers in the city was also not the best idea, considering that he would probably get ganged up by their entire Familia's. Therefore, Blake was left with one option. Go into the dungeon and ambush whoever was there. It was dangerous, considering that Blake had not actually participated in that many battles yet.

Blake had the training, jutsu's and weapons, but he lacked the experience. Yet, Blake had to do what he had to do. You couldn't gain experience without actually putting yourself in danger. Sadly, Blake had to leave Nightmare with Yahiko, for Blake wouldn't be able to summon the creature here anyway.

Walking deeper into the city, Blake finally reached the entrance into the dungeon.

His eyes widened at the beauty of it all.

Well, he definitely couldn't see stuff like that on Earth.
