Naruto: Swarm System

Chapter 438: Chapter 438: Konoha Year 67

Noon.

Fire City.

Shishou woke up from his bed, feeling a sharp pain in his back and waist.

"This waist is beyond repair..."

He grimaced as he got up, trying to twist his back, resulting in a series of 'crack' sounds from his body.

Crash!

The wooden door of the room slid open, and Uchiha Mikoto, dressed in an elegant white kimono, walked in.

Seeing Shishou's grimacing expression, Mikoto covered her mouth and laughed softly, teasing, "Serves you right."

After speaking, Mikoto placed the toiletries she was carrying down and approached Shishou, smiling, "Let me give you a massage."

"Mikoto is the best."

Shishou kissed Mikoto as he hugged her, then threw himself back onto the bed, lying down next to the still-sleeping Kushina and Hyuga Rimei.

Rolling up her sleeves, Mikoto placed her delicate hands on Shishou's back, massaging him attentively while also pulling the blanket over the deeply sleeping Kushina and Hyuga Rimei.

"Ahh..."

Feeling Mikoto's hands pressing on his back, relieving his pain, Shishou couldn't help but sigh in comfort.

As she massaged him, Mikoto asked, "How have you been these past few years while you were away?"

Shishou smiled, "Not bad, my strength has improved significantly."

During his time travel, not only had Shishou awakened the Rinnegan with Kaguya's help, but he also gained a portion of the Divine Tree's power, resulting in a qualitative leap in his strength.

More importantly, he had managed to win over Ōtsutsuki Kaguya, the progenitor of chakra, giving him greater confidence in becoming immortal.

Of course, while Shishou's strength had increased immensely, Mikoto and the others had also made significant progress.

The chakra required for the time-space summoning was enormous, and Mikoto and the others had been training hard to bring him back as soon as possible over the past few years.

Thinking of this, Shishou sighed inwardly.

In the current timeline, three to four years had passed since he was banished, meaning he had been absent from the ninja world for three to four years.

It was now Konoha Year 67, and Ino and Hinata were already 16 years old.

After giving Shishou a massage in the room, Mikoto woke up Kushina and Hyuga Rimei, urging the three to get up and eat.

After lunch, Shishou immediately headed to Shikkotsu Forest to find the Great Slug Sage.

"Little Slug."

Upon arriving at Shikkotsu Forest, Shishou first greeted the Great Slug Sage.

"You're back. If you hadn't returned soon, there might have been trouble in your harem. Tsunade and the others were on the verge of fighting."

The Great Slug Sage recalled the past few years, feeling a bit weary.

During these years, she had worked hard to maintain balance within Shishou's harem.

Hearing this, Shishou was stunned, "Isn't that a good thing? What happened?"

The Great Slug Sage replied, "To bring you back as soon as possible, Tsunade and the others have been training their sage arts like crazy."

"But as their sage training progressed, the amount of natural energy they needed increased. One or two people, Shikkotsu Forest could handle, but ten or so was a bit much."

The denser the natural energy in the environment, the more it helped with sage training, speeding up the progress.

However, even the natural energy in the three great sacred lands couldn't sustain ten or so people training in sage mode daily.

With the total amount of natural energy unchanged, more people meant less energy for each person.

This was why, over thousands of years, there had only ever been one Great Sage in each of the three sacred lands.

The natural energy in the sacred lands simply couldn't support the emergence of a second Great Sage.

Moreover, the three Great Sages had to ensure the natural energy in their environments was sufficient for their own training, so they couldn't foster a second Great Sage to compete with them.

Now, Tsunade, Mei Terumi, and the others, seeking better sage training efficiency, naturally encountered unavoidable conflicts.

Without Shishou around, some rifts were inevitable.

Hearing this, Shishou was stunned, "So, did they end up fighting?"

"Not exactly."

The Great Slug Sage shook her head, "Fortunately, you managed to take over Ryūchi Cave. Otherwise, they might have."

"But as more people around you train in sage arts, relying solely on Shikkotsu Forest and Ryūchi Cave might become insufficient."

The Great Slug Sage was clearly implying that it might be time to consider taking over Mount Myōboku.

"I understand," Shishou nodded.

In the following years, as Tsunade, Mei Terumi, Yugito, and Pakura became more proficient in sage arts, their need for natural energy would only grow.

He indeed needed to find new sage training grounds.

Mount Myōboku was an excellent target.

Next, the Great Slug Sage looked at Shishou and asked, "When do you plan to release Kaguya?"

After Shishou's return, her sealed memories were also unsealed, revealing the relationship between Shishou and Kaguya.

Thinking of how Shishou managed to win over Ōtsutsuki Kaguya, the Great Slug Sage couldn't help but scrutinize him a few more times.

Hearing this, Shishou sighed and said, "I'm afraid if I release her now, I won't be able to control her, so I plan to wait until I reach the Six Paths level."

Given Kaguya's temperament, if Shishou couldn't ensure he could subdue her, it could cause significant trouble.

Moreover, he feared that upon seeing Mikoto, Kushina, and the others, Kaguya might lose control and act rashly.

In any case, Kaguya had been sleeping when sealed, so she could continue to sleep a bit longer.

The Great Slug Sage nodded, "You'd better think this through carefully. Kaguya's power is immense."

Shishou nodded, "I know."

Having consumed the chakra fruit and possessing the power of the Bloodline Limit, Kaguya was not someone Shishou and his current allies could handle.

Then, Shishou asked, "Is Mount Myōboku still closed off?"

With his current strength, he was more than capable of defeating the Great Toad Sage and conquering Mount Myōboku.

The Great Slug Sage nodded, "It's still closed off. I don't know how to get in."

Thinking for a moment, Shishou said, "Maybe we should ask Jiraiya."

Jiraiya was Mount Myōboku's representative in the ninja world, so he should know how to get there.

The Great Slug Sage agreed.

"That might work."

Shishou nodded, "I'll have Pakura and the others start searching for Jiraiya's whereabouts."

...

Elsewhere.

In Orochimaru's secret laboratory.

Covered in blood, with a white snake biting his neck, Jiraiya, along with the Toad Sages Fukasaku and Shima, were thrown into a cell.

Outside the cell stood Orochimaru, Raiko, and Uchiha Obito.

Looking at Jiraiya in the cell, Orochimaru smiled and asked,

"Jiraiya, how do we get to Mount Myōboku?"
