Chapter 106: Chapter 106: The Battle Is Over

Sasori was filled with both anger and an unfamiliar sensation—fear.

His plan had been flawless. The "Performance of a Hundred Puppets" was nothing more than a diversion, a smokescreen to allow him to hide his true body and escape amidst the chaos. Even if the worst occurred, his arsenal of poison mist, Senbon, and fire-breathing scrolls would ensure his survival.

No one was supposed to know about his true form: a small core containing his essence, hidden within his puppet body. But now, the worst-case scenario had unfolded—his puppet body was under Kirito's control, and his core hadn't even had a chance to detach.

"Damn it! Move! Move!" Sasori's core desperately funneled chakra to regain control, but it was futile. The chakra flooding his puppet was overwhelming, drowning out his own.

"Why... Why can't I control it? This is my puppet!" Sasori's mind raced as he grappled with the situation. The black rod embedded in his puppet seemed small and insignificant, yet it carried an unfathomable amount of chakra.

Meanwhile, from Chiyo and Sakura's perspective, the battle had taken a strange turn. After Sasori summoned his puppets, a few had seemingly turned against him. Now, all of his puppets collapsed to the ground, motionless.

"What's going on?" Sakura asked, her voice laced with confusion.

Nearby, Gaara had been delivered to them by Kirito's Wooden Release. Sakura worked frantically to stabilize him, her focus unwavering.

Chiyo, however, spared a glance at the battlefield. "Sasori must be facing something far beyond his control," she muttered.

As Kirito's influence over Sasori's puppet body grew, Sasori could do nothing but watch in horror. His puppet's hands began to tremble and move independently, undoing the mechanisms that protected his core. Finally, one of the black rods pierced near his core, locking him in place.

"Stop! Stop!" Sasori's inner voice screamed in futility as his puppet body betrayed him, exposing his true form.

The robe fell to the ground, revealing the mechanical frame of Sasori's puppet body and the small core embedded in his chest.

"Sasori..." Chiyo gasped, recognizing the truth. "You've abandoned your humanity entirely..."

Sakura stood on guard, her eyes narrowed. "What's he doing now?" she wondered aloud.

To everyone's shock, Sasori's puppet body raised its hand and plunged it into its chest. The hand reemerged, holding the core engraved with his name—Sasori.

"What is this?" Chiyo gasped. "Sasori, what are you doing?!"

With slow, unsteady steps, Sasori's puppet carried the core forward, inching toward Kirito.

Kirito observed calmly, suppressing a smirk. This will definitely haunt him for life, he thought. The irony of being brought to defeat by his own puppet was not lost on him.

Once the puppet reached Kirito, it handed over the core. Kirito, sensing the immense chakra and vitality within it, encased the core in a thin layer of frost with a touch of his palm.

"Here," Kirito said casually, tossing the frozen core to Chiyo. "Your grandson, as promised."

Chiyo scrambled to catch the core, her hands trembling as she cradled it carefully. Feeling the faint pulse of life within, she let out a deep breath of relief.

"Why... Why are you giving him back to me?" Chiyo asked, bewildered.

"I'm lending him to you for a while. Take some time to talk. He's my captive and spoils of war, and I'll be taking him back to Konoha eventually," Kirito replied. "I'm sure you puppeteers have your own ways of communication."

"Kirito," Sakura interjected, "wasn't that a little cruel? You nearly gave her a heart attack!"

"She's tougher than she looks. She'll be fine," Kirito said nonchalantly, turning his attention to Gaara. "How's he doing?"

Sakura's expression turned grim. "He's hanging by a thread. The last of the tailed beast chakra keeping him alive is fading. I... I can't save him," she admitted, her voice heavy with regret.

Kirito knelt beside Gaara and placed his hand on the Kazekage's chest. "Then let me show you the pinnacle of medical ninjutsu."

Sakura watched in awe as Kirito began to channel the power of Yin-Yang Release. The tailed beast chakra within Gaara dissipated completely, but before his life force could vanish, Kirito's chakra intervened.

Through sheer force of will and precision, Kirito locked Gaara's vitality in place and began infusing him with life force, restoring his body from the brink of death.

Sakura gasped. "Kirito, how did you do that?"

"Yin-Yang Release," Kirito replied matter-of-factly. "The ultimate power of creation and life. As long as there's even a single breath left, I can bring someone back. But it doesn't work for those who've died of natural causes."

Gaara's breathing steadied, his complexion returning to normal. Sakura could only stare in amazement at the feat she had just witnessed.

In the corner, Chiyo held Sasori's core, her mind swirling with emotions. Looking at the faint life within, she muttered, "Perhaps there's still a chance for you to find your way back, Sasori."

Kirito rose to his feet, dusting off his hands. "The battle's over. Let's clean up and head back."
