Chapter 274: Chapter 274: The Watcher
Boro, one of the Inner Members of the Kara Organization, stood guard over the massive bowl-like container sealing Naruto. Tasked by Jigen to eliminate any intruders, he awaited potential enemies with confidence in his power.
"This place can only be reached through space-time ninjutsu," Boro muttered, scanning the group that had appeared. His sharp gaze settled on Kirito. "That means one of you must be Sasuke, right?"
From his intel, only Sasuke, with the Rinnegan, had the ability to traverse dimensions with space-time ninjutsu.
But as he looked closer, his eyes landed on Kawaki. "Well, if it isn't Kawaki! What a pleasant surprise," Boro sneered. "Still as rude as ever, I see."
"Cut the crap, Boro!" Kawaki snapped. "Where's the Seventh?"
Unfazed, Boro ignored Kawaki and turned his attention to Kirito. His eyes widened in shock. "Wait… are you… Otsutsuki?! What's going on?"
As a high-ranking Kara member, Boro had extensive knowledge about the Otsutsuki clan. At a glance, he could identify Kirito's lineage.
"But Sasuke is supposed to be an Uchiha. How does he have Otsutsuki traits? Who are you?!" Boro demanded, clearly unsettled.
Kirito remained silent, his gaze calm as he analyzed Boro. Instead of answering, he turned to the group and said, "Naruto is inside that giant bowl he's leaning on. He's unconscious, likely due to severe chakra depletion."
"Then we have to get it back!" Sarada exclaimed.
Hearing this, Kawaki's anger boiled over. "Boro! Hand over the Seventh Hokage now!"
Boro grinned. "Oh, he's here, alright. If you want him, come and take him!" He laughed mockingly.
"Damn you!" Kawaki shouted, ready to charge, but Kirito placed a hand on his shoulder.
"You all stay here," Kirito instructed calmly.
Whoosh!
Before Kawaki could respond, Kirito disappeared and reappeared in front of Boro in an instant. With a single kick, he sent Boro flying backward, his massive body carving a deep trench into the ground before embedding into a rocky outcrop.
Boom!
Without missing a beat, Kirito grabbed the edge of the giant bowl with one hand, lifted it effortlessly, and returned to the group in a single leap.
Thud!
He placed the container down in front of them.
"This is it?" Sarada asked, examining the structure, which looked like two bowls fused together.
Kawaki placed his prosthetic hand on the surface. The white light on the prosthetic glowed brighter. "Yes, the Seventh is inside—and he's alive!"
Boruto circled the container, frowning. "But how do we open it?"
The group tried to pry, push, and even strike the giant bowl, but it didn't budge.
"Hahaha! Only Jigen can break that seal," Boro called out as he climbed out of the rubble. His tattered robes revealed his muscular, scarred upper body. "Don't even think about destroying it, or I can't guarantee the Hokage's safety!"
Boro's voice drew their attention. To their shock, the half of his face that had been obliterated was rapidly regenerating before their eyes.
"What incredible regenerative abilities…" Sarada murmured.
"That's Boro's specialty," Kawaki explained grimly. "Amado transformed his entire body into a scientific ninja tool. But even his abilities rely on a core embedded in his body. If we destroy that, he's finished."
Boro overheard Kawaki's explanation and scowled. "Damn you, Kawaki! Betraying us, are you? I'll teach you a lesson!"
Despite his threats, Boro's focus remained on Kirito. From their brief exchange, he understood that Kirito was no ordinary opponent.
An Otsutsuki… Boro thought, formulating a plan. If I can test his abilities and report back to Jigen, I'll be rewarded. But if things go south, I'll just retreat and regroup.
With his mind made up, Boro grinned. "Well, it doesn't matter if you know my secrets now."
Suddenly, Boro lunged toward the group, closing the distance with surprising speed. His virus-based abilities, designed to thrive in close combat, began spreading through the air.
Kirito reacted swiftly, raising his hand. A gray-white bone spike shot out from his palm, hurtling toward Boro's chest—aimed directly at his core.
The spike was too fast for Boro to dodge, but he quickly formed a hand seal, shifting his core from his chest to his lower abdomen at the last moment.
The spike struck, embedding in his arm instead of his chest. Boro grinned triumphantly.
"You think this will stop me? My body will regenerate from any attack!" he taunted.
But his confidence quickly turned to horror as his arm began to crumble. Starting at the point of impact, his limb disintegrated like weathered stone, the effect spreading uncontrollably.
"What the—?!"
The disintegration rapidly consumed his arm, then his chest, abdomen, legs, and head. Even his core, hidden in his lower abdomen, crumbled into dust.
"No! This can't—! Don't—!"
Boro's screams were cut short as his body dissolved entirely, leaving only a gray-black pile of dust on the rocky ground.
The group stared in stunned silence.
"What… was that?" Sarada whispered.
Kirito dusted off his hands, his tone calm. "That was the end of Boro."
