Chapter 56: CH-54
"Hiruzen, That boy might have potential; giving him to them isn't the right step. The Uchiha's are evil by nature, you know that, don't you?" Danzo spoke with righteous fury.
Hiruzen sighed, 'It was good I asked all the ANBU to move out of the room,' he thought while looking at his best friend, who gave him random headaches.
"Danzo, we have talked about this. The Uchiha's are an integral part of Konoha." He held his head while he continued, "Moreover, I haven't given him to the Uchiha.".
"What do you mean?" Danzo asked, a slight curiosity blooming in his heart, 'Perhaps there is still a chance,' he thought while keeping his stoic face.
"They wanted him with Shisui in the Land of Water, so I agreed; he hasn't taken allegiance to any clan or such." Hiruzen looked at Danzo as if he were stupid, "Do you not know he is of the Hatake clan... A blood relation of Sakumo wouldn't bend against any force.".
Sakumo, A name both of them knew very well, the man whose reputation and strength exceeded even the Sannin.
"Mhmm, you might be right, Hiruzen," Danzo spoke with a pause, "However, don't you dare give him to any force before I can even ask him.".
Hiruzen paused at that before replying with authority, "Don't you forget who the Hokage is, Danzo.".
Danzo let out a small gruff and turned towards the door.
"It was nice meeting you, Danzo." Hiruzen's voice came from the side.
.........
"Today, you will diagnose and heal a real patient. Come with me," Dr. Mahima spoke as he moved forward, motioning me to follow him.
It was, in a sense, an internship; I quickly followed the man's fast pace.
Reaching into his room, he pressed a button, showing he was now open for today.
I seated myself on the far corner; Mahima turned towards me and spoke, "Note down and tell me your observations.".
I nodded.
In a few minutes a family entered through the door. It was simply a man about 5'7 feet tall with his wife and daughter.
Seeing the state of the daughter, it was clear who was truly ill. I focused as Dr. Mahima started asking them questions.
Symptoms, her recent diet, any physical injuries ... All necessary questions were asked, and it gave me a brief insight into what I was supposed to do.
"Excuse me, that is my student sitting there. Mind if I ask him something?" Mahima spoke to the father, who nodded in response .
Turning towards me, he spoke, "Tell me what happened to her daughter and how to treat her.".
"Her symptoms of nausea and constant vomiting show something related to her digestive system. Considering she hasn't had any outside food in a while, the chances of food poisoning are minimal. Of course the lack of her fever also shows as such.".
Mahima nodded, and I continued, "Seeing the pain she is having in the bottom part of her stomach, it is related to intestinal problems, perhaps an allergy."
I looked towards the family and asked, "Ma'am, Have you recently given her anything she is allergic to?"
She responded with a shake of her head, "No, sir, we know she is allergic to chocolate. We have always strictly restricted it.".
I nodded; however, suddenly the weak girl spoke in a timid voice, "I—I might have eaten a little chocolate with my friends.".
" Then thats the problem , Currently , she just needs a dose of these and in a few days she will be fine " I spoke while writting down the curtains medicines important for allergies.
The family nodded while the father looked towards Dr. Mahima, who nodded, "His deduction is right. It is an allergy." He handed down the medicines I had prescribed down to the family.
The family soon thanked us and went outside.
"That was wonderful. Count me impressed, Kagami," Mahima spoke.
The day had just started, and countless new patients were waiting outside.
'Let's grind.'.
.......
The day had been exhausting; I had treated over fifty people, and my body was on the brink of tiredness.
Of course, physically it wasn't much; however, mentally, it was a lot to handle.
I made my way home before buying a few dresses for the occasion tomorrow.
Daiki's wedding was supposed to happen tomorrow, and Misachi had asked me to buy her a dress since she hadn't brought anything from her homeland.
My hands were filled with small cartons with clothes and accessories filled to the brim.
"Kagami? Is that really you?" A voice interrupted my thoughts. I looked to the side only to be shocked to find my old teammate, Kuro Inuzuka, standing beside me.
The man seemed to be coming from some physical activity, training perhaps. We had worked together around two months ago in Daisy's team and had become friends as well.
"How are you doing, my man?" He spoke while hugging me.
I shook my head and smiled, "Nothing much, just shopping for that dumbass's wedding.".
He looked down to see the stuff that I had bought, "Oh shit, I almost forgot buying clothes myself.".
I laughed at that, "For the big brother, you sure are very careless." I searched beside him, "Where is Mezuki?"
He shook his hands in a nonchalant manner, " Apparently we just got a scroll from higher ups, He stayed at home" He laughed , " He must be reading it right now , would probably be super excited to tell me ".
I shook his hand, "Nice meeting you, man," I spoke while doing a firm handshake, "Let's then meet tomorrow nicely.".
"Likewise," he replied back.
..........
At the Inuzuka household
"Brother, are you finally back?" Mezuki shouted at the top of his lungs as he ran towards the door.
Kuro entered with a smile, "You have no idea who I met today.".
Mezuki turned towards him with a curious look, "Who?" he asked.
"Kagami Hatake, Apparently he was buying some stuff up at the shop for tomorrow ".
Mezuki nodded, "Must be for Daiki's wedding." He looked towards Kuro, "How is he anyways?".
Kuro made himself comfortable on the sofa. "He seemed pretty good; you can ask him tomorrow, little brother.".
Mezuki nodded and took a seat next to Kuro. "Do you know what I read in the scroll?".
Kuro motioned for him to continue, "Apparently some side organization of ANBU is looking for hires; it could be our way to the top, big brother.".
Even Kuro paused at that, "For real? An organization similar to ANBU? Did it have the Hokage seal?". Kuro was naturally suspicious...afterall If there was such an organisation...then why hadn't they heard it ever.
"Apparently it's super suspicious; even the name will be mentioned if we pass the test.".
Kuro nodded, "We would try our best... you are right, Mezuki, this calls for a celebration.".
Both the brothers laughed in joy, planning their night. Little did they know the organization trying to recruit them isn't as nice as they thought.
.......
I threw myself on the sofa; Misachi was apparently still training outside... it made sense since she was a budding samurai.
"Are you that tired, Kagami?" She asked as she continued swinging her sword in different strikes.
"Very," I spoke without a pause.
She nodded and focused on her training, "Give me some; I will be done in a few.".
I left her to herself, instead thinking about my future actions. The land of water is a deadly place for any ninja...I might have agreed, but ensuring my survival came first.
'For that I needed to be strong.'.
Looking back at Misachi, I couldn't help but sigh, 'No rest for me, I guess,' I thought as I pushed myself off the sofa.
"mhmm? I thought you were resting. She spoke with a confused face; her body was glistening with sweat, and her strikes never paused.
"I can't stop training," I replied, and she nodded.
Knitting hand signs in a similar fashion, I beckoned my chakra to flow in a predetermined passageway.
'Shadow clone jutsu'
Creating a clone of myself, I instructed it to practice lightning release while I did the same.
Creating Lightening was a difficult topic in itself ... and I still wasn't anywhere close to crumpling the leaf into dust.
'I would need the help of the system once again,' I thought while trying to change my chakra into a lightning element.
'System,' I thought.
(White Fang system—20.92)
(Experience points -130)
(Experience points needed—175)
'War is just the best place to grow. '. I had already set another goal for myself.
'By the time I return from this war, I hope to be at least somewhat better in elemental chakra.'.
While I was busy in my train of thoughts, Misachi came to me, "Hey, Kagami," she continued, "I have seen how hard you work... I know you train so hard to survive.
She hugged me, "You are doing wonderful; I hope you know that.".
I enveloped her in a hug, my body relaxed, "Thanks.".
'Perhaps I can take a rest once in a while. '.
Little did I know I had fallen asleep in her arms. My shadow clone dissipated on its own while Misachi picked me up and laid me down on the bed.
"Sleep well."
