No Return (Shadow Slave Fan-Fic)

As he entered his room he let out a sigh and looked at the plastic bag in contempt. He had picked this thing from a trash can , and naturally it was filled with trash. Fortunately it only contained plastic cans , discarded metals , bottles and such.

He had tried to snatch it in secret.. but.. Shashi... the vampiric looking woman had caught him red-handed. Of course snatching a trash bag isn't something illegal. But it was weird as hell. He did not want to remember what happened..

When she saw him picking up the plastic trash bag , she looked at him with a raised brow and asked him with a curious tone.

"Uh.. Levi right..? Why.. are you taking that..?"

She asked him in a curious tone. Levi was embarrassed , he felt like he could die from embarrassment at any given moment now. But he kept it together.. and didn't let his embarrassment show..

"I.. uh.. I.. needed some plastics to test something out.."

He stuttered at the beginning a bit , and he could swear he saw her lips curl into an amused smile before she forced herself to remain stoic.

"What are you going to test out , if I may ask?"

Levi looked at her.. he didn't really want to talk to her right now.. because he was feeling very embarrassed. So he looked at his communicator and looked at her with a fake sorry expression.

"Ah it seems I am being called for an interview.. my apologies.. I shall leave now.. have a good day.."

He said and hurriedly turned to walk away from the vampire girl with fast paced steps.

"...Interview huh..? That hall leads to the dorms though.."

Shashi murmured to herself as she let out an amused scoff.

Focusing on the task at hand , Levi placed the trash bag on top of the desk , and he got out the plastic cans out first..

He was going to test out his Aspect ability.. [Corrosion].. It had said that everything you touch corrodes , so he wanted to see how it works.

He gently grasped the empty coffee can. Nothing happened... unfortunately he did not know how to activate the ability.. was he supposed to..-

The Coffee can started rusting immediately , turning into dust in just 2 seconds. 

He had thought of Corrosion as he gently grasped the coffee can , only after that the ability had worked. He was quiet happy that the ability wasn't always active , because it would have been troublesome if anything he touched decayed.

Levi looked at the dust remains with wide eyes.. Yes it was just a can of coffee.. but it did corrode it in just a matter of seconds.

"Damn!"

Suddenly a thought crept into his mind. If a coffee can corrode in just a matter of seconds , how would his ability work on Nightmare Creatures..? Or maybe.. even humans..? Of course.. Levi wasn't going to risk this by attacking anyone.. and he definitely wasn't going to find a Nightmare Creature in the real world unless he went outside the city. And of course.. he wasn't stupid enough to do that.. So that left only one test subject for him..

Himself.

Levi was going to use corrosion on himself , he was hesitant yes , but he was also desperate to see the wonders of a Divine Aspect.. 

So.. Levi hesitantly held out his right hand in front of him , and he hesitantly reached out to grasp his finger gently. His hands were shaking.. Levi was worried that he would unintentionally kill himself...

'Wait.. am I not immortal..?'

What is he so worried about.. when he was immortal..? Without a second thought he activated the [Corrosion] ability.. hoping for the best..

What came after.. was not something Levi had been expecting at all.. 

His veins on his arms.. and most likely in his other part of body.. had turned pitch black.. It looked like the time the Dormant Beast had cursed him. Only this time.. it didn't hurt him. He couldn't lie , the black veins looked quiet sick when it was not harming him. The only thing that weirded him out was that the black veins looked alive.. they were pulsing beneath his skin..

But what most mattered was not his appearance , because Levi was feeling more powerful! He had become considerably stronger after becoming a Sleeper , but with the aid of Corrosion , he was feeling even more powerful. Of course.. he was still a Sleeper and could never hope to defeat an Awakened human , but he definitely felt more powerful than a regular sleeper.

Finally he looked forward , at the plastic bag... 

"Bastard.."

He was still hating on the poor plastic bag for embarrassing him back there. So Levi got the plastic cans and such back into the Trash bag.. And.. he placed both of his palms on the bag. With a mental command he activated the cursed ability of his.. and in only 2 seconds , the trash bag and all of the things inside it had dissolved into dust. 

2 Seconds was fast , additionally he assumed that when he applied [Corrosion] to his body , his speed of Decaying things became faster too , and the corrosion spread more quickly. Overall Levi was satisfied with this.. His Aspect would come in very handy when he faced Nightmare Creatures in the Dream realm.

He looked back at his hands with a worried gaze. The black veins looked cool and all but...

'How the hell do I deactivate this??'

He was laying on his bed currently , staring at the ceiling deep in thought. Fortunately the black veins were gone.. he had discovered that by applying corrosion on himself once again deactivated his powered state.

He wanted to go over everything he had been through until now.. 

Levi had died.. but miraculously survived. He had received a Divine aspect , something no one ever had heard about. Levi did not want to reveal that. If he did he would attract unnecessary attention.. additionally it would be dangerous.. some people may want to hunt him down.. such as the legacy clans. Of course.. there was no way to kill Levi , but there were always many ways to restrain him.

His flaw.. it was something he wanted to avoid ever even talking about. 

With that he decided to shift onto recent topics.. He had started his life at the Awakened Academy.. Today was nice.. Teacher Julius seems to be passionate about teaching , Sunless and him would learn many things he thought.. 

Sunless.. or Sunny.. he seemed like a decent person.. he hoped that they would keep being partners , even if both of them were untrusting people , Levi had high hopes of their relationship.. That is if Sunny didn't betray him. 

Clearing his mind off of unnecessary thought.. he finally went to sleep.
